CONGRESSIONAL TESTIMONY AND THE AIR POWER DEBATE Colleague H.W. Brands. H.W. Brandsdescribes Lindbergh's testimony before Congress and his popularity at massive rallies. A key debate emerges regarding air power: Roosevelt argues it makes America vulnerable to attack, whereas Lindbergh insists it enhances hemispheric defense, making invasion impossible. Brands notes that while Lindbergh was politically naive compared to FDR, his message of "America First" and a fortress America initially resonated with large audiences who cheered his anti-war message. Objective of the Plan Lower healthcare costs for Americans. Extend expiring ACA subsidies temporarily while transitioning to a new system. Shift financial benefits from insurance companies to individuals. Proposed Measures Two-year extension of Enhanced Premium Tax Credits (originally expanded during COVID-19). Income eligibility cap for subsidies at 700% of the federal poverty line to prevent wealthy Americans from benefiting. Minimum premium payments to ensure cost-sharing. Encourage Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and direct tax credits to individuals rather than insurers. Push for cost-sharing reductions that were previously blocked in Congress. Financial Impact Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates reforms could: Lower premiums by 12.7%. Save taxpayers $30.8 billion. Criticism of ACA for being “unsustainable” and increasing premiums by 80% since passage. Political Context Democrats opposed previous Republican attempts to include cost-sharing reductions in legislation. Debate over whether reforms should be bipartisan or passed via budget reconciliation. Trump emphasizes “power to the people” by allowing individuals to control healthcare spending. Underlying Philosophy There is a strong focus on consumer choice and freedom. Opposition to government-managed healthcare and subsidies flowing to insurance companies. A belief that direct-to-consumer funding will reduce corruption and lower costs. Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now. In this week’s episode, Jennifer tackles the ongoing government shutdown and its wide-ranging impact, sharply criticizing Democratic leadership for leveraging struggling families as political pawns. She highlights actions taken by Republican lawmakers to help their communities during the crisis, while alleging that many Democratic officials are out of touch and prioritize their own benefits over those of ordinary Americans. Jennifer addresses concerns over transparency and financial impropriety among prominent Democrats, debates the expansion of health care to undocumented immigrants, and accuses state leadership in Massachusetts of ignoring the will of the voters. She also takes aim at what she perceives as a double standard regarding accusations of authoritarianism, arguing that real examples of unchecked political power can be found within the Democratic Party. This episode dives into controversial topics such as the government shutdown’s effect on military families, the use of taxpayer funds for undocumented immigrants, and the refusal of Massachusetts officials to allow for legislative audits despite overwhelming voter support. Jennifer lays out her case for fiscal conservatism, limited government, and prioritizing veterans and vulnerable citizens over what she calls “illegals.” Her remarks reflect her views on the failures of Democratic leadership at both the federal and state levels, warning that continued disregard for public sentiment will have electoral consequences as key states prepare for the next election cycle. "They said, 'Of course there will be families that are going to suffer, but it's one of the few leveraged times we have.' It's disgusting. It's absolutely sickening." ~Jennifer This week on Political Contessa: Impact of the government shutdown on families, the military, and government workers Criticism of the Democratic leadership’s handling of the shutdown and use of leverage Examples of Republican lawmakers supporting constituents during the crisis Allegations of financial impropriety among elected officials Debate over health care expansion to undocumented immigrants Ongoing partisan conflict over immigration, crime, and public safety Accusations of authoritarian behavior and disregard for voter mandates in Massachusetts Concerns over government spending and fiscal priorities Awaken Your Inner Political Contessa Thanks for tuning into this week’s episode of Political Contessa. On https://rushtoreason.com, guest host Andy Peth fills in for John Rush and is joined by Tanner Coleman. Together, they deliver a fast-paced, unapologetic Hour 1. The pair set the tone for a no-nonsense conversation about culture, leadership, and values. As the year winds down, the discussion starts with humor and reflection. Then, they focus on California's political direction—new laws, wildfire mismanagement, and what critics call a growing gap between common sense and governance. The hour then sharpens its focus on border security, patriotism, and race. The hosts push back against claims from Los Angeles leadership about Hispanic Border Patrol agents. Are these men and women motivated by money, or by love of country and respect for the rule of law? Using real quotes, vivid analogies, and pointed questions, Andy and Tanner challenge listeners. They urge the audience to reconsider media narratives and the real-world consequences of mass illegal immigration. The conversation shifts again. This time, it moves to culture and morality. Humor explores a serious question: do we still teach why things are wrong, or just warn of consequences? That thread sets up the next topics: wealth, taxes, voting, and whether “fairness” quietly replaced personal responsibility. HOUR 2 Andy returns for a hard-hitting Hour 2 alongside Tanner, opening with an intense deep dive into the massive Minnesota fraud scandal tied to COVID-era programs. How did billions in taxpayer dollars allegedly vanish—and why were whistleblowers ignored or silenced? Andy and Tanner argue this wasn't just a bureaucratic failure, but a political one, repeatedly questioning the role of Tim Walz and asking how accountability might look if a different political movement were involved. Mid-hour, the tone shifts as Richard Rush joins the show, bringing weekly NFL picks, playoff implications, and late-season drama. Which teams are collapsing at the worst possible time—and which quarterbacks are carrying franchises on their backs? From draft positioning to coaching courage, the sports conversation mirrors the political theme: leadership matters, mindset matters, and excuses only go so far. Blending sharp analysis, dark humor, and rapid-fire debate, Hour 2 challenges listeners to question media narratives, political double standards, and even how success—or failure—is measured, whether in government or on the field. HOUR 3 Andy Peth and Tanner return for a politically charged Hour 3 with special guest Eli Bremer, taking a hard look at the future of Republican politics in Colorado and beyond. What happens when party unity breaks down—and who pays the price when candidates prioritize personal brand over winning elections? The hour opens with a candid discussion about internal GOP fractures, performative politics, and the fallout surrounding Marjorie Taylor Greene, raising tough questions about loyalty, teamwork, and governing with slim majorities. The conversation then shifts to Colorado, where Eli walks through the importance of vetting candidates in competitive districts like CD8 and CD3, highlighting incumbents Gabe Evans and Jeff Hurd—and warning how fringe challengers can jeopardize winnable seats. The hour crescendos with a blunt assessment of Joe Altman's newly announced gubernatorial run, exploring how extreme rhetoric and unchecked behavior can turn a difficult race into a political disaster. The message is clear: in a purple state, credibility, discipline, and strategy matter—or the consequences will be severe.

In this special New Year's Eve solo episode, Dr. Mark Bonta steps away from the guest format to reflect on a landmark year for Ditch the Labcoat and to share where the show is headed next. After surpassing 50 episodes and approaching episode 100, Dr. Bonta looks back on how the podcast evolved in 2025. What started as a more traditional interview-style medical show has grown into deeper, more philosophical conversations about performance, longevity, mental health, neuroplastic symptoms, and the human side of healthcare.Using a surprising year-end analytics insight from his recording platform, he explores why the word “athlete” became one of the most frequently used terms on the show, and what that reveals about how healthcare, high performance, parenting, and recovery intersect. He also shares a candid and self-aware resolution for 2026, including how small environmental changes can shape better habits both personally and professionally.Looking ahead, Dr. Bonta outlines meaningful shifts for the podcast in 2026. Expect fewer episodes, greater depth, clearer thematic focus, and more intentional preparation to better honor guests and their work. He also highlights future areas of exploration, including neuroplastic and invisible illnesses, long COVID, chronic fatigue, high-performance mindsets, and the role of technology and AI in improving care. The episode closes with a deeply personal reflection on caregiving. A simple moment at home caring for his daughter leads to a broader meditation on touch, nursing, administrative burden, burnout, and why “caring” remains the most essential and fragile element of modern healthcare. This episode is both a thank-you to listeners and a statement of purpose for the year ahead.Mark Bonta's Links : https://ditchthelabcoat.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-bonta-/ Episode Takeaway 1. Healthcare as Performance: Why the Athlete Mindset Keeps Appearing — Recovery, sleep, nutrition, and training principles apply far beyond elite sports.2. Filler Words Reveal Thinking: What “So” Says About Deep Conversation — Pauses often signal reflection, curiosity, and cognitive processing, not incompetence.3. Behavior Change Starts at Home: Environment Shapes Outcomes — The easiest habits are the ones your surroundings make unavoidable.4. Longevity Is Not Biohacking: It's Consistency Over Intensity — Sustainable routines outperform extreme interventions every time.5. Quality Over Quantity: Fewer Episodes, Deeper Impact — Better preparation and focus create more meaningful learning for listeners.6. Invisible Illnesses Are Real: When Scans Don't Explain Suffering — Neuroplastic symptoms demand credibility, nuance, and evidence-based care.7. Administrative Burden Erodes Care: Documentation Steals Time From Healing — Systems often pull clinicians away from the bedside.8. Burnout's Red Flag: When Caring Disappears — Loss of empathy is a warning sign that support and reflection are urgently needed.Episode Timestamps05:08 – Why “Athlete” Became One of the Most Used Words on the Show07:27 – The Most Commonly Used Word on Ditch the Labcoat (And Why It Matters)09:44 – Setting Yourself Up for Success: Habits, Environment, and Behavior Change11:39 – Longevity Lessons from Athletes and Everyday Life14:02 – Quality Over Quantity: How the Podcast Evolves in 202617:25 – Neuroplastic and Invisible Illnesses: What Medicine Still Misses19:25 – Caregiving, Touch, and the Administrative Burden of Modern Medicine24:15 – Burnout, Red Flags, and the Importance of Never Stopping CaringDISCLAMER >>>>>>    The Ditch Lab Coat podcast serves solely for general informational purposes and does not serve as a substitute for professional medical services such as medicine or nursing. On this episode of the Mallory Bros Podcast, the guys kick things off with a recap of Christmas morning, talking gifts, family time, being with the kids, and everything that comes with the holidays. That conversation naturally turns into a bigger question: is the Christmas magic gone? From there, the bros debate whether it's acceptable to bring a gaming console to the birth of your child after a tweet from Terrell went viral and sparked heavy discussion online. They then shift to serious news, reacting to Anthony Joshua's tragic accident in Nigeria, paying respect to those who lost their lives, and unpacking the circumstances surrounding the event. Next up, the guys talk about A$AP Rocky announcing a January release date for his upcoming album Don't Be Dumb—hopefully. They discuss whether the album will actually drop, what to expect creatively, and how Rocky's sound may evolve years after his prime run. The conversation then turns to Beyoncé officially becoming a billionaire, which opens a deeper discussion about wealth, ethics, and whether billionaires should be celebrated. That leads into a debate about dating etiquette: is it ever okay to ask for a box on the first date? Terrell pushes back on the idea that it signals financial instability and offers a different perspective. The two clash ideas here. Terrance then asks whether it's an underrated blessing to be with a woman who doesn't post on Instagram, following another trending conversation online. The episode wraps with a Cheers to 2026, as the bros share reflections on the year, personal resolutions, and goals for the Realest 9 moving forward. The guys debate unlikely dynasty candidates like the Jaguars, Browns, Titans, Falcons, and Chargers, breaking down franchise history, ownership instability, fan bases, and why sustained dominance from these teams would feel completely surreal. From there, the conversation shifts into a full NFL playoff contender analysis, examining which teams are actually built for January football. The Rams get serious love as a dangerous NFC team thanks to coaching, play calling, and quarterback play, even with some puzzling losses on their resume. The Bears' playoff outlook sparks debate as the group discusses their ability to win ugly games and why they could be a nightmare first round matchup despite skepticism about their overall ceiling. The NFC West gets a full breakdown as the Seahawks, 49ers, and Rams jockey for position. Defensive strength, star power, and quarterback consistency are all debated, with disagreement over which team has true Super Bowl potential versus which needs everything to break perfectly. The discussion expands to the broader playoff field, including the Bills' championship ceiling, the Jaguars being a legitimate contender despite low national expectations, and the Cowboys being labeled as entertaining but unreliable. The Texans emerge as a true wild card thanks to their defense and improving quarterback play, while concerns mount around teams like the Saints and their long term quarterback plan. The episode wraps with early NFL playoff predictions, division title picks, and speculative trade conversations involving young quarterbacks. With no clear dominant team this season, the group agrees the NFL is as wide open as it has been in years and sets the stage for a full playoff bracket breakdown next episode. If you love NFL playoff debates, Super Bowl contenders, dynasty hypotheticals, power rankings, and bold predictions, this episode is packed with arguments, laughs, and big picture takes you won't hear anywhere else.

Kratom and 7-OH products are available in many smoke shops. But earlier this year, the FDA recommended certain 7-OH products be scheduled alongside opioids.
