Mastermind Groups are at the center of many of the most successful entrepreneurs this world has ever known. Many people are very intrigued about how they work, how to organize one, how to find or start one, what to expect, and how they can benefit from one. I sit down with Lee Mowatt in this week's episode to discuss mastermind groups. Lee and I are both members of the same mastermind group. We share with you how we came to find our mastermind group, and how it's structured. We also pull back the curtain and share with you how we have leveraged these groups in our businesses, and the direction we see our mastermind group headed. IN THIS PARTICULAR EPISODE YOU WILL LEARN: Mastermind Groups Are Not A New Concept: In his book, “Think and Grow Rich,” Napoleon Hill talked about something he called a “mastermind alliance.” To Napoleon Hill, a mastermind group is defined as, “A friendly alliance with one or more persons who will encourage one to follow through with both plan and purpose.” It is not enough to have a group with just a plan, or just a purpose, therefore, both are necessary for a successful meeting of the minds. Notice the key ingredient here, “one or more persons”. The whole premise of a Group of this nature is to leverage others in our own endeavors and share our knowledge and experience. This truly has to be a give and take relationship. A successful author of several books, Napoleon Hill mentions these concepts in several of his publications. In, “Master Key to Riches,” he says, “Every mind needs friendly contact with other minds, for food of expansion and growth.” Recognizing that mastermind groups are essential to the success of its participants, Hill describes these groups as an environment that nurtures and supports growth. Finally in his book, “The Law of Success,” Hill refers to the mastermind group again by saying “the group helps to organize useful knowledge, creating a virtual encyclopedia from which each member can draw information.” LINKS AND RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: Michael Hyatt has an excellent blog post about how to launch a successful mastermind group. Forbes released an article about masterminds that I highly recommend. Pat Flynn of “The Smart Passive Income” has a fantastic blog post about how to find a mastermind group. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/changeyourpov/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/changeyourpov/support
