"Dear Mamas, I’m done. Seriously. No more award shows for me. After watching the Tony’s this weekend and Robert De Niro’s f-bombs on live tv, I’ve had it. When will Hollywood learn that if they keep insulting the Americans who voted for Trump, we’ll stop watching whatever it is they are in? Be it movies, TV shows, or Broadway plays... that, by the way, are so expensive only the 1% can afford to go see them?!?!"Up to the mic at the Tony's to announce Bruce Springsteen, Robert De Niro went into a completely unrelated, and vulgar, anti-Trump rant. We took this listener's submission to our American Mamas, Teri and Denise, on Monday's "What Would Mama Do?" and got their thoughts on the nasty rant and how destructive thinking like De Niro's is for our country. Take a listen.

"Dear Mamas, I saw on Teri’s Facebook she took her son to the airport to play ball in New York. I can barely let mine go to summer camp. Where do you get your strength from?"Mama Teri put her college age son on a plane this past weekend to go play minor league baseball and pursue his dreams. Not an easy task! We talked to her about her experience and got some advice from her for similarly anxious parents on Monday's "What Would Mama Do?"

"Dear Mamas, In my workplace, there are five women. Three white. Two black. (They prefer "black" to "African American"). We are all moms and we are all very close. In a recent lunch discussion, I was telling all of them the repercussions my son was going to get from me for lying about his whereabouts the night before. My two black friends looked at each other and then started dying laughing. Long story short, we all spent the rest of our lunch hour discussing the main differences in the way black moms parent to the way white moms parent. Is there really a difference? Do y'all think black moms are more strict, while white moms are too lenient? And do black children seem to respect their moms more than white kids do their moms?"#ICYMI, we took this question to Mama Teri on Monday's "What Would Mama Do?" and got her take on why black no-nonsense mamas have an "edge" on white mamas. Great segment, take a listen."What Would Mama Do?" airs every weeknight on American Ground Radio.
"Dear Mamas, I know you have seen the Starbucks viral video that is front and center in the media. I saw where Denise posted about it and said we need to find a way to relate. Please explain."The incident, in which two black males were arrested on "suspicion of trespassing" for not ordering while waiting on friends at a Philadelphia Starbucks, is making major waves in the media. "Dear Mamas, I heard about this restaurant in New Orleans that’s charging its white customers $30 for lunch, but charging black customers $12! Listener Submission: "Dear Mamas, I saw how our former President Obama tweeted out support for those high school kids standing up for gun reform. Why hasn’t he tweeted out support for our Bossier kids who are standing up for religious freedom? After all, religious freedom is under attack in our schools every single day!"We took this question to the Mamas, Teri and Denise, on Monday's "What Would Mama Do?" and got their thoughts on the prayer controversy in Bossier schools, and on the importance of religious freedom. Listener Submission: "The words from Oprah at the Golden Globes were huge to me. Where other industries, institutions and organizations have failed, the entertainment industry has been an inspiration calling out sexual assault and harassment. You would hope the church would be leading this, but 'they' have been hiding in fear. So grateful for the brave who have the platform where people listen and who are doing something good with it. Do you agree?"As an influential figure with a platform, you have a responsibility to use your words for good. Did Oprah do that? Or did she just save face? We talked to the Mamas Teri Spinks Netterville and Denise Vinson Arthur about Oprah's speech on Monday's "What Would Mama Do?" and they had some great insight.

Listener Submission: "I'm feeling a little overwhelmed since my child has gone off to college. I feel like I have been put through the ringer of emotions. I feel like we are not just separated by distance. My child feels like a stranger and we have always been so close. I'm embarrassed to admit this to my friends but surely I am not alone. I know you both have college kids, I would love your take on this."You're not alone! It is important to remember that you are going from full to limited exposure, and there are some growing pains that come with that. The Mamas, Teri Spinks Netterville and Denise Vinson Arthur, have some real experience in the matter and spoke from the heart on Monday's "What Would Mama Do?"
"Dear Teri and Denise,In the wake of the Katie Grantham tragedy that has affected all of us in the Shreveport-Bossier community and beyond, how can we possibly move forward in light and love, and happiness, this holiday season, when so many of us are devastated over this tragic loss? I can hardly think of anything else right now. What can we possibly do for this family who is suffering so terribly?" - Listener SubmissionIt's often hard to make sense of the senseless, and to live in light in the face of such darkness. We had the Mamas, Teri Spinks Netterville and Denise Vinson Arthur, weigh in on this one on Monday's "What Would Mama Do?"
