Vinny and Caitlin are joined in this episode, by Eric July. Eric is the lead singer of the band Backwordz, and Multimedia Department director for Being Libertarian. We interview Eric about his band, and how he got into the liberty movement. We then go on to discuss emergencies, and how the way emergencies often effect individual liberty.
Students learn how to design, develop and produce rich multimedia content. The range of skills students gain includes Digital Video Production, Web Authoring, Image Processing, Interactive Media Development and 3D. The course enables students to take a concept and develop it into a fully fledged digital multimedia product. The course introduces students to the following industry standard software: Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Edge. Final Cut Pro is used as our video editing tool and Blender is used for 3D. Students also explore third party plug-ins and alternate software, such as WordPress. As well as a fully equipped Mac computer lab, students have access to Canon DSLR cameras with various lens, a Sony AVCHD camera, zoom recorders, Tungsten lighting kits and a portable green screen. St John’s Multimedia Department is an Apple Authorised Training Centre for Final Cut Pro, the industry leading software for non-linear video editing. Multimedia Level 5 is a one year programme, progressing onto Multimedia Level 6.
Multimedia L6 - This is a one year advance course involving the latest multimedia technologies and giving students the opportunity for the development of rich multimedia content. Students learn the skills and expertise necessary to develop web sites complying with the latest World Wide Web Consortium Web 2 standards. Students learn cutting edge skills for producing Flash web content, Java Script for interactive web sites, editing and producing sound/ media content for radio and TV etc. Students learn video production skills applicable to news acquisition, short movie development, advertising and training DVD’s and more. All Multimedia Students are given the opportunity to become Apple Certified Final Cut Pro users. St John’s Multimedia Department is an Apple Authorised Training Centre for Professional Applications and Final Cut Studio is the industry leading software for non-linear video editing and production.
