El aracnólogo no era un científico común; era un coleccionista de lo imposible. Su estudio, oculto entre fábricas paralizadas, casas de lata y jardines marchitos donde ya no cantaban los pájaros, parecía flotar dentro de una nube gris de hierro y herrumbre . La poca luz que entraba por aquellas ventanas sucias estaba tamizada por miles de telarañas que él mismo, con el tiempo, había aprendido a cultivar.Con sus precisas pinzas de plata, el hombre pasaba las horas atrapando maravillas que desafiaban la biología en sus propias redes. Las había observado, sentido y finalmente atrapado.
