Irán permitirá la navegación y Estados Unidos levantará el bloqueo naval que Donald Trump impuso sobre los puertos iraníes en abril. La reapertura completa llegará en la segunda mitad del mes de julio, lo que, en un principio permitirá que vuelva a fluir el crudo y el gas natural hacia el mercado mundial. Los mercados han reaccionado de inmediato con gran optimismo. El Brent ha caído y son muchos los que están convencidos de que en un par de meses todo habrá pasado. El problema es que un mercado tan complejo como el del petróleo no se mueve a la velocidad de los titulares, sino al ritmo pausado de unos petroleros que navegan lentamente. El primer obstáculo es de naturaleza física. El estrecho debe quedar limpio de minas, pero su localización exacta solo la conoce la Guardia Revolucionaria iraní. La navegación en Ormuz está estrictamente regulada mediante carriles dos separados de unos 4 kilómetros de ancho. Nadie se atreverá a pasar por ahí hasta que las aseguradoras cubran el tránsito sin una prima especial. Es curioso, pero fueron las aseguradoras quienes cerraron Ormuz a principios de marzo negándose a cubrir siniestros, y serán ellas quienes lo reabran cuando comprueben que es seguro. Una vez esté completamente limpio, los 118 petroleros atrapados dentro del Golfo tardarían entre 10 y 15 días en salir cargados hacia su destino. Para que todo se normalice hace falta, además, que los buques regresen a cargar, que los productores reactiven la extracción y que las refinerías recuperen el ritmo. Los analistas esperan que la producción del golfo Pérsico alcance entre el 30% y el 50% en julio, entre el 60 y el 70% en septiembre y entre el 80 y el 90% a finales de año. Para entonces estiman que el Brent estará ya en torno a los 75 dólares. En el mejor de los casos no volverán los precios de principios de este año hasta bien entrado 2027. Pero hay más complicaciones en el horizonte. El gobierno iraní ha insinuado que cobrará peajes si lo cree necesario y, de hecho, ha creado ya un organismo para hacerlo, la Autoridad del Estrecho del Ormuz, para gestionar el tránsito. Entretanto, la demanda estival presionará sobre el mercado, China volverá a importar como antes de la guerra y las reservas de la OCDE están en mínimos de los últimos 20 años, lo que tirará de los precios hacia arriba impidiendo que se normalicen rápidamente. Las refinerías de medio mundo tendrán que reajustar su producción y sus prioridades. La flota petrolera también tendrá que hacerlo. Si todo marcha bien el problema se habrá resuelto en cuestión de meses, pero siempre existe el riesgo de que algo se tuerza y vuelvan los problemas. Welcome to episode 251 of Grasp the Bible. In this episode, we will examine the topic of the danger of almost — why “almost persuaded” is the most perilous place a person can stand.  Key takeaways:    Almost saved is the same as completely lost. In matters of eternal destiny there is no middle ground, no partial credit, and no safe distance. Proximity to truth is not possession of truth. King Agrippa was educated in Scripture, personally evangelized by Paul, and intellectually convinced of the gospel's logic — and still walked away. Knowledge about Jesus is not relationship with Jesus. Understanding the gospel and surrendering to Christ are vastly different things. Agrippa grasped the argument. He simply refused to follow it to its conclusion. The gospel is not a subject for ongoing academic inquiry — it is a royal summons. Jesus does not say “Think it over.” He says “Come.” “Follow.” “Today is the day of salvation.” Repeated exposure to truth without response does not keep you neutral — it hardens you. Every time conviction is ignored, the conscience grows more calloused. What once stirred begins to bounce off. Agrippa could clearly see Paul's legal innocence yet was completely blind to his own spiritual guilt. Familiarity with the truth can create the illusion of standing in the light while still standing outside it. Agrippa's problem was not lack of information, opportunity, or evidence. His problem was unwillingness to submit. He calculated that the cost was too high and chose his kingdom over God's.  Quotable:    Tomorrow's decision is today's hardness. Every time you hear truth and walk away unchanged, it becomes easier to do it again. Don't let “almost persuaded” become your epitaph.  Application:    Examine what you are actually trusting. Many people have sat in church for years, can articulate the gospel, and still have never personally surrendered to Christ as Lord. Biblical literacy, church attendance, and theological knowledge are not substitutes for faith. If you are relying on any of those rather than Christ Himself, you are standing exactly where Agrippa stood.  Stop treating faith as an ongoing inquiry. If you have been “still thinking about it” for years after repeated exposure to the gospel, honest seeking has become sophisticated resistance. The paralysis of perpetual deliberation is not neutrality — it is a decision. Today is the day of salvation.  Take your decreasing conviction seriously. If you have heard the gospel many times and feel less moved than you once did, that is not a sign of maturity — it is a warning sign. Spiritual tolerance is real. Do not let familiarity with the message inoculate you against surrender to the One the message is about.  For believers: remember you were once Agrippa. You were once almost persuaded. Use that memory to fuel your compassion for those who are still standing at that threshold. Pray for them. Pursue them. Paul wept over the people in that room. Dos días antes su empresa había lanzado Fable, una versión recortada de Mythos, el modelo de lenguaje más potente del momento. El viernes 12 de junio el Gobierno Trump le concedió el deseo de la peor manera posible. Por segunda vez en cuatro meses descargó una bomba sobre Anthropic. El Gobierno prohibió el uso de Fable y Mythos para los extranjeros escudándose en razones de seguridad nacional. Eso implicaba que nadie que no fuese estadounidense podía usar estos modelos, incluyendo a muchos empleados de la empresa que los ha desarrollado. Anthropic respondió apagándolos por completo, ya que cumplir esa orden les resultaba imposible. Mythos lo empleaban en ese momento unas 200 empresas e investigadores para monitorizar y parchear fallos de software en sectores como la banca, la sanidad y la industria. Todos se quedaron sin la herramienta de un día para otro. El origen de todo estuvo, según parece, en Andy Jassy, consejero delegado de Amazon, inversor en Anthropic y a la vez su competidor. El equipo de Jassy aseguraba haber conseguido que Fable revelara vulnerabilidades de seguridad nacional si se le hacían las preguntas de un modo concreto. A partir de ahí las versiones varían. David Sacks aseguró que el Gobierno pidió a Amodei arreglar o retirar Fable y que se negó. Anthropic habla solo de una orden de bloquear a los extranjeros. Tampoco ha quedado claro el soporte legal, los analistas apuntan al mismo reglamento de control de exportaciones que impide la venta de cierto tipo de chips a China. Para muchos el objetivo verdadero era simplemente castigar a una empresa concreta a la que Trump considera de izquierda radical y de estar fuera de control. No es, recordemos, la primera vez que el Gobierno carga contra ella. Hace unos meses Pete Hegseth sacó a Anthropic del Pentágono. Para la empresa esta polémica no podía llegar en peor momento, están ultimando su salida a Bolsa este otoño y sus principales competidores como OpenAI lo aprovecharán hasta el final. Varios expertos en ciberseguridad han relativizado la amenaza que supone Fable y Mythos. Aseguran que las pruebas solo han destapado vulnerabilidades menores ya conocidas. El domingo un grupo de expertos muy reconocidos en el ámbito de la seguridad informática firmaron una carta colectiva en la que pedían levantar el veto, ya que está dejando sin las mejores herramientas precisamente a quienes vigilan la seguridad de la red. Para los aliados más próximos como Australia, Canadá o el Reino Unido la imposibilidad de poder utilizar estos modelos es una bofetada que les equipara a Rusia o Irán. Pero esto de la IA se ha convertido ya en una lucha de carácter geopolítico y ahí no hay amigos, o los hay pero hasta cierto punto. Tras muchas promesas fallidas, Donald Trump anunció en la madrugada del domingo un primer acuerdo para poner fin a casi cuatro meses de guerra y reabrir el estrecho de Ormuz. La noticia coincidió con su 80 cumpleaños, una casualidad que él mismo se encargó de recordar con su estilo habitual. Lo cierto es que no se ha firmado nada todavía. Se trata tan solo de un memorando de entendimiento, un género diplomático que sirve para anunciar a bombo y platillo que dos partes seguirán negociando. El memorando en cuestión se rubricará el viernes en Ginebra y su contenido permanece, en lo esencial, en secreto. Lo poco que ha trascendido anticipa un acuerdo de alcance limitado. Parte del levantamiento simultáneo de los dos bloqueos sobre Ormuz, un estrecho que debería quedar despejado en 30 días. A partir de ahí se abre un periodo de otros 60 días de conversaciones sobre el verdadero hueso del asunto, el programa nuclear iraní. Es, en puridad, un acuerdo para negociar otro acuerdo. Eso sí, solo el anuncio bastó para que el barril Brent cayera más de un 5% hasta los 83 dólares, su nivel más bajo desde el mes marzo, aunque todavía 20 dólares por encima del precio previo a la guerra. Unos 60 petroleros llevan meses fondeados a la espera de que el paso se reabra y los depósitos de los países del golfo Pérsico están llenos. El capítulo nuclear es harina de otro costal. Irán guarda más de 400 kilos de uranio enriquecido a un grado cercano al armamentístico. Trump exigió durante meses que lo entregaran sin más, pero al final ha sido el más fuerte quien ha cedido. La pregunta de fondo, la que nadie formula en voz alta, es si a un régimen decidido a tener la bomba se le puede disuadir con concesiones. La experiencia de los últimos 20 invita al pesimismo. A cambio de su buena disposición, Irán recibirá un primer alivio de sanciones y la liberación de hasta 24.000 millones de dólares en activos congelados, pero todo irá por fases. El protagonismo diplomático lo han acaparado Catar y el vicepresidente J.D. Vance, que exhibe el memorando como credencial de cara a una posible candidatura en 2028. Israel es quien peor sale parado. Ni el arsenal de misiles iraní ni su red de milicias figuran en el acuerdo. Netanyahu, reprendido públicamente por Trump tras atacar Beirut, queda más solo que nunca ante su principal valedor. A falta de que se conozca todo el memorando de entendimiento, lo que sabemos hasta ahora nos dice que han quedado en tablas. Trump ha rebajado sus aspiraciones que prometían un cambio de régimen en Irán. Los ayatolás, por su parte, cantan victoria con la boca llena pese a que tienen la economía en ruinas. The PhilenApocalypse is back and this time cannabis comic Ngaio Bealum is here to witness it! This year Philena takes a swipe at super heroes just as their box office fortunes are starting to wane. Her first pick puts the trans in transgressive as trans femme comedian Vera Drew violates all manner of copyrights with THE PEOPLE'S JOKER (2022), a stinging satire of Batman and stand-up comedy wrapped in a surprisingly personal coming-of-age tale. It'll all make sense if you just watch it on Tubi, but not before getting your strain recs from Ngaio and Philena. And then Philena goes a little more mainstream with SKY HIGH (2005), a live-action Disney comedy about a high school for superheroes that is floating in the clouds. Philena thought this was something she dreamed up until rediscovering it recently. It does exist! The movie has one of the most loaded casts ever with Kurt Russell, Kelly Preston, Bruce Campbell (!), Lynda Carter (!!), Chloris Leachman (!!!), Mary Elizabeth Winstead + Dave Foley and Kevin McDonald from "The Kids in the Hall"!!! Even with Philena controlling the horizontal and the vertical, she has to endure Ngaio and Bob descending into fanboy talk as they go way too deep into Legion of Super Heroes lore for a while, but Philena was fascinated by the tragic tale of Triplicate Girl and Duo Damsel at least. Hay personas que, cuando discuten, necesitan hablar, acercarse, insistir o subir la intensidad para sentir que todavía hay conexión. El problema aparece cuando una interpreta la pausa como abandono y la otra interpreta la intensidad como ataque. Quizá tu pareja no se calla porque no le importes. Quizá se está saturando. Quizá tú no subes el tono porque quieras hacer daño. Quizá estás intentando no perder el vínculo. En este capítulo exploramos cómo muchas discusiones no son solo problemas de amor, sino problemas de traducción entre dos sistemas nerviosos. Hablamos de la importancia de pactar pausas, aprender a decir “necesito regularme”, comprender la batería emocional de cada uno y dejar de medir el amor en decibelios. También veremos por qué una relación sana no consiste en eliminar las diferencias de temperamento, sino en aprender a darles un lenguaje, un calendario y un lugar donde descansar. Csepelről Kanadába: Szabó László, a Calgary Magyar Ház elnöke 1.rész ep. 319   Ebben az adásban Szabó Lászlóval beszélgetünk, a Calgary Magyar Ház, pontosabban a Calgary Magyar Kultúra Egyesület elnökével. A beszélgetés sajnos időhiány miatt rövidebbre sikerült, mint szerettük volna, de így is egy nagyon érdekes életútba kaptunk betekintést.   László Csepelről indult, majd 1981-ben, 18 évesen, a feleségével együtt Kanadába került. Eredetileg nem Calgaryt választották, egyszerűen oda szólt a repülőjegy. Így kezdődött egy kanadai magyar történet, amelyben benne van a disszidálás, az újrakezdés, a nyelvtanulás, a szakmai újratervezés és a közösségépítés is.     Beszélünk arról, milyen volt Magyarországról elindulni a 80-as években, hogyan fogadták őket Kanadában, miért lett Calgary végül jó választás, és hogyan működött akkoriban a bevándorlók támogatása. László mesél arról is, hogy villanyszerelő szakmával érkezett, de a kanadai papírok, vizsgák és nyelvi akadályok miatt végül más utakon kellett boldogulnia.     Szóba kerül a kanadai mentalitás is: a bizalom, az udvariasság, a mindennapi kedvesség, és az a különbség, amit egy magyar ember nagyon hamar megérez Észak-Amerikában. László szerint Kanadában sokszor előbb megbíznak benned, és csak akkor változik ez, ha rászolgálsz az ellenkezőjére. Ez éles kontraszt ahhoz képest, amit sokan Magyarországon megszoktak.     A beszélgetés egyik különleges része, amikor kiderül, hogy Lászlóék éveket éltek újra Magyarországon, és egy rajzfilmstúdiót is vezettek, amely családi kötődéssel kapcsolódott a magyar animáció világához. Innen vezetett az út vissza Kanadába, majd a handyman, vagy magyarul ezermester élet felé.     László ma egyszemélyes vállalkozásban dolgozik handymanként Calgaryban. A villanyszerelő háttér szerinte nemcsak a szakmai tudás miatt fontos, hanem azért is, mert megtanította problémát megoldani. Nem csak kicserélni valamit, hanem megérteni, miért nem működik. Ez a gondolkodás nagyon sokat számít egy olyan szakmában, ahol minden nap más problémát kell megoldani.     A végén természetesen szóba kerül a Calgary Magyar Ház is. László nagyjából 9-10 éve tölti be az elnöki szerepet, és őszintén beszél arról, hogy a magyar közösségek egyik legnagyobb kihívása az utánpótlás. A fiatalokat nehéz bevonni, kevés az önkéntes, és sokszor ugyanazokra az emberekre hárul minden feladat.     Ez most inkább egy első találkozás volt, mint teljes életútinterjú.
