For Beyond 50's "Natural Healing" talks, listen to an interview with Nina C. Payne, a Yoga instructor. She'll talk about Yoga as an essential tool to cultivate a strong immune system during the cold and flu season through different postures. These benefits include backbends that open the chest and throat, which are good for activating the thymus. Inversions which help to aid the flow of lymph and immune cells throughout the body. Stretching and compressing in our yoga postures increases circulation and aids blood flow to our internal organs while massaging, rejuvenating, and revitalizing them. This also helps with lubricating our joints and opening up the energy pathways to stay healthy and heal more efficiently.
