Classroom 2.0 LIVE webinar, "Small Talk about Small Tech" by special guest presenter, Sydney Sheren, February 6, 2016. We are very excited to have the always inspiring Sydney Sheren returning to Classroom 2.0 LIVE to share her technology passions. Her presentation: "Small Talk about Small Tech" revolves around some of the best technology products and applications for the classroom including virtual reality, Google Cardboard, 3D printing, Pocket and Wacom tablets. Get ready to sit down, relax, drink some tea, and have a nice conversation about some great tech products and how you can get your students more engaged by using them in your classroom. http://definedbytech.wordpress.com Sydney is a 10th grade student and currently the Sophomore class President at Westhampton Beach high school. She created and continues to supervise and edit the middle school's newsletter. Her interests in technology led her to be a Keynote speaker at the Student Technology Conference and at the Suffolk ASSET Conference in front of 800 teachers and educators last year. My passion for film-making has led her to screen one of her movies at the local movie theater and to attend the New York Film Academy for two summers. This past summer, she attended a program on Leadership and Global Engagement at the Leadership Institute at Brown University. She is inspired to teach others why technology is helpful and how they can easily use it to learn in a quick, easy, fun way.

Classroom 2.0 LIVE webinar, "How to Help Your Visual Students Learn Using Movie Magic" presented by Sydney Sheren, May 16, 2015. There are so many students doing amazing things with technology and we are thrilled to be having one of these students joining us for our show this week. Sydney Sheren is a 9th grade student at Westhampton Beach High School (http://www.westhamptonbeach.k12.ny.us/). She created and ran the Middle School’s newsletter and is currently the Freshman class President. Her passion for film making has led her to screen one of her movies at the local movie theater and to attend the New York Film Academy for the past two summers. She inspired to teach others why technology is helpful and how they can easily use it to learn in a quick, easy, and fun way. Sydney was selected to be a keynote presenter at the Student Technology Conference in January 2015, and we were so impressed with her presentation that we invited her to come and share it with us on Classroom 2.0 LIVE. Sydney’s topic is: "How to Help Your Visual Students Learn Using Movie Magic.” In this presentation, we will be taking the under utilized application of iMovie and partnering it with other programs to make visual learning easily accessible in the classroom. By going beyond iMovie we are teaching students how to use many different programs that can work together to create educational films. Students of the technology age easily gravitate to computers and the mediums that you can create using them. Once a student learns how to use iMovie, they can easily learn other applications like Garageband.
