Sadly, like an estimated 25% of her fellow female service members, Krista was sexually assaulted; and like so many, no one listened or did anything to help. As a female soldier, she deal with many issues, her male counterparts never even considered. As a result of the assault and a back injury, her military career ended after 6 years, and it took years and two suicide attempts before she found hope through a new passion.
