Pawan Sharma(Unsplash) What is there to wait for in waiting? What if the one who doesn't deserve to be waited for was us, and yet that all we needed? This was a sermon (longer than 8 minutes) I preached in Collective, KL. Rahul Chakraborty (Unsplash) Is it really true that at the mention of the name "Jehoshaphat", it has to mean "have faith in God and you will have victory"? Is that what Chronicles are all about? Let's see what the Bible has to say to us. This was a sermon (longer than 8 minutes) I preached in Collective, KL. Lent bids us repent from our sins and return to God. In a postmodern world, even sin is relativized. We welcome the self-admiring, self-searching, and triumphal. But the more self-affirming we become, the more we need to face the honest truth, i.e. we can never be perfect. We can never be fully in control. And that is why the greatest self-discovery of knowledge, is the knowledge that I don't know. Scripture tells us this truth right from the first narrative of humankind. Today, open up your heart to hear the bidding of the gospel of our Lord. This was a sermon (longer than 8 minutes) I preached in Collective, KL. Isn’t it an irony that although books like Isaiah are so lengthy yet so seldom preached in many Christian churches. The season of Advent (and Christmas) bids us look forward in anticipation to the reappearing of the Lord. The NT writers could do so because of the relentless prophetic voices of people like Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah and all the prophets of the Hebrew Bible. Let us not be carried away by trolls of Yuletide carousals and nugatory shopping craze. Lest we forget the Reason for the season. Lest we forget. .
