Hi! I’m Amanda Rush - wife, mom to three wild and wonderful kids, and creator of the All Moms Have a Story Podcast. Moms, we ALL have a story about motherhood. Whether they’re good, bad, funny, ugly, or anywhere in between, I’d be willing to bet that we all have at least one story to share that another mom can benefit from hearing. I created this podcast to be a supportive space in which to share these real-life stories. Here, moms will listen to my stories and the stories of my amazing mama-guests. My greatest hope is that by sharing these stories, all moms will feel supported and connected in the often-isolating world of motherhood, and realize that we're all more alike than we may think. We’re in this motherhood thing together after all. My hope is that this podcast will help us to FEEL like we’re in it together.
In this episode, I'm talking with Trissa Bottorff about her unique motherhood journey. She so openly and honestly shares about her history with depression and anxiety, becoming a teen mom, going through a miscarriage, and eventually finding herself and her passion amongst her many duties as a mom. Trissa Bottorff is an online fitness coach who helps women gain confidence, support and encouragement through fitness accountability groups. She is the founder and CEO of Diamond Team Tackle & Conquer whose main focus is to help as many women as possible find healthier habits without the restricting diets and little to no support. She believes coming together as a community and building genuine relationships by sharing the struggles and wins can drastically change your mindset and physical results. She is a mother to 3 children, a wife of 6 years and the oldest sister to three younger sisters. Her family enjoys jumping on the trampoline, riding four wheelers and spending time in the garden. In today's short and sweet episode I'm speaking on something that has been on my mind a lot lately, something that I know to be deeply important not only to myself but to all of us moms. All moms deserve to make time for themselves. I know that when I make it a priority to spend time each day doing something that I love - whether it's journaling, working out, reading, gardening, etc - my days go much more smoothly. I feel so much more happy and joyful. I show up better for my family. I can take care of my kids so much better when I'm also taking care of myself. My challenge to you, fellow mom, is to take five minutes today to do something that you love to do. It doesn't have to be the same as what I love to do, it can look different for all of us. Pick one thing that YOU love to do, one thing that makes you feel happy, and spend five minutes doing that one thing. Send me a dm @amandarush.co and let me know how making time for yourself makes you feel. I can't wait to hear all about it!
Welcome back to the show! Today, we have our VERY FIRST guest story! I am so excited that Jordan Wavra joined me to share the story of her first birth. This is a story that she has not yet shared publicly, and I am so very honored that she is sharing it here with us. She is so open, real, and vulnerable, and I know you'll love her as much as I do! Learn more about Jordan: Jordan Wavra is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist & Certified Personal Trainer who supports fellow moms on their journey towards a healthy, vibrant, and energetic life. She's a wife, mom, and adventure seeker. She firmly believes in the power that a holistic lifestyle, energy healing, and a positive mindset have on the connection between the mind, body, and soul. Her hobbies include travel, hiking in the mountains, reading a good book, and going on adventures with her family. Jordan's journey towards holistic health began about 6 years ago when the chronic stomach pain, fatigue, and stress had finally taken their toll on her health. She began studying nutrition, mindfulness, and energetics and began to see her health transform in ways she never thought possible. She now works with women who are determined to transform their health & lifestyle so they can live the best life possible. Her passion is helping them create a lifestyle that encourages them to live a healthier, happier, more mindful life leaving them feeling confident in their body and empowered to take control over their health and well-being. This story is one of my own ... the story of my first pregnancy and birth! Our first baby, Elliott, was born in July 2014 at 32 weeks gestation due to severe preeclampsia and PPROM. To say that it was a stressful and scary time would be an understatement. But, once we met our strong baby boy after a surprisingly quick labor and delivery, the sense of relief that I felt was like no other. There really is nothing like giving birth to your first baby.
