Beach Volleyball: Updates from the Umbrella

We're going to call this the beginning of SEASON 2 of Beach Volleyball: Updates from the Umbrella! This 'emergency pod' comes to you from the middle of the Huntington AVP Tour Series event with special guests Tyler Penberthy and Carlos Jimenez joining Mark Bucknam to chat qualifier and main draw action and big picture Tour Series competition. 

Jake and Mark talk about more volleyball! Only 3 weeks since our last episode, we catch up briefly on what went down at the Tour Series stop in Atlantic City before diving into all things AVP Pro Ft Lauderdale! Short and sweet episode this week, back for more next week after AVP Atlanta... most likely! 

This week's podcast comes from the road! Jake and Mark are joined by fellow North East volleyball players Tyler Penberthy and Frank Field to chat about interesting results in Denver, the Waupaca Tour series event, as well as the Hermosa Pro series event, and some other interesting topics as well! 

Jake and Mark talking about volleyball! Not under an umbrella right now though... This week we discuss the AVP 'Tour' series event that just took place in Muskegon Michigan and debate whether or not these count as real AVP events... what do you think? We go over the results, talk about the venue, coverage, how we did, how others did, and then move on to the international scene! Beach Pro Tour World Championships are going on RIGHT NOW in Italy, so check that out on VBTV if you're interested! Be back next week with an AVP Denver preview! 

Jake and Mark chat more volleyball! Updates on what's going on with AVP Next events and AVP Tour series events moving forwards, as well as breaking down some interesting results from the AVP Next in San Antonio that was the AVP New Orleans qualifier, as well as the actual AVP New Orleans results, and the winners from the Kusadasi Challenge Event on the BeachVolleyballWorld Pro Tour. 

This week Jake and Mark break down the Norceca tour a little bit and give kudos to the American teams that just had success this past weekend (May 14 and 15) as well as give a mini preview for the AVP Next in San Antonio this upcoming weekend (May 21-22) that's acting as the New Orleans AVP Pro Tour qualifier. Additionally, they discuss a bit about how and where to watch volleyball this weekend with the VolleyballWorld Beach Pro Tour even in Turkey taking place and the 8 American teams that are overseas playing in that event! Check out the unnecessarily long instagram handle for some updates! This week Jake and I discuss what went down this past weekend (April 23-24) in beach volleyball (which wasn't a ton) and also chat a bit about some of the things we're most excited for this upcoming summer. Mark Bucknam and Jake Fleming dive into a conversation about the recent Volleyball World Challenge tournament in Itapema Brazil (results and prize purse) as well as the Norceca World Championship qualifier that took place in the Dominican Republic!
