In this Episode of the Viral Volley Podcast, ascending pro volleyball athlete Alaina Chacon jumps after she and partner Maddie Anderson go 2-0 at the opening weekend of the AVP League in Belmar, NJ. Before that weekend, Alaina has always been one of those "watchlist" athletes from her days in HS indoor, to Florida St., and now the Beach Pro Tour and the AVP. One of three tallented sisters, Alaina has been a switch-blocker on the beach but has also been a lightning quick defender with a full toolbox of attacks-- that include a very heavy hammer. This week she reflects on her volleyball beginnings, getting discovered by coaches Hector Gutierrez of TCU and Brooke Niles at Florida St. After finding success at the collegiate beach game she ventured into coaching and eventually her pro career where she has continued to find success at both the BPT and AVP! How she had to find a partner rather quickly at the start of the 2026 season being that sister, Morgan was carrying her first baby for Auntie Alaina! What did she do? Did she "...slip into Maddie's (Anderson) DMs?" Nope. She just texted her :). Listen in!

Send us Fan MailThe fastest way to turn a cyber incident into a business disaster isn't ransomware, it's confusion. We sit down with Violet Sullivan, AVP and Cyber Solutions Team Lead at Crum & Forster, who has worked across cyber law, breach notification, digital forensics and incident response, and now cyber insurance. That vantage point lets her translate what each group needs when pressure is high and everyone is speaking a different language. We get practical about the moments that create real-world chaos: overlapping roles like “breach coach,” acronyms that make leaders freeze, and the dangerous assumption that someone else already handled comms or law enforcement outreach. Violet breaks down a cleaner way to run the response by focusing on function: legal help, technical help, and operational help. We also talk about why crisis communications deserves a seat at the table early, how PR teams organize messaging by audience, and how to avoid the cleanup phase that happens when people speak too soon. Then we zoom out to the contract that quietly shapes the whole response: cyber insurance. Violet explains why insurance is not “admitting defeat,” but a risk transfer mechanism that can fund response vendors and influence decisions when you cannot afford mistakes. We also tackle emerging AI risks, including more believable social engineering and the legal concern that sharing privileged legal advice with AI tools may put attorney-client privilege at risk.If you want clearer incident response planning, better tabletop exercises, and fewer “who has the ball?” moments, hit play. Subscribe, share this with your security or legal team, and leave a review with the one part of your response plan you want to simplify next.

Recorded live at Shoptalk Spring, this episode of the AiR Podcast tackles the shift from AI experimentation to real-world accountability. Mark Williamson, AVP of Retail Media at Costco Wholesale, joins Kimberly Morgan, CEO of The Fashion Tech Exec and a Top AI Leader, to discuss why Costco is building its technology ecosystem "from the studs up." The Path of Most Resistance While many retailers opt for "plug-and-play" black-box solutions, Williamson explains why Costco is intentionally choosing a more complex, transparent path. By keeping member data behind its own firewall and inviting partners to work natively inside the Costco data cloud, the company eliminates signal loss while upholding its core code of ethics: respect for the member and respect for the supplier. No AI Strategy Without a Data Strategy The conversation centers on the necessity of a modular, interoperable tech stack. Morgan and Williamson explore how this foundation prepares Costco for the era of agentic commerce. By organizing data properly today, Costco ensures it can provide relevant value wherever members shop in the future—whether via an LLM, a search engine, or the warehouse floor.

Risa Eldridge, AVP of Product Management & Integrations at CallMiner, spoke with Doug Green, Publisher of Technology Reseller News, during the Enterprise Connect conference about how conversation intelligence is helping organizations better understand customer interactions and improve operational performance. Eldridge explained that enterprises are increasingly looking to AI-driven analytics to extract meaningful insights from the vast volume of conversations taking place across contact centers and customer engagement channels. By analyzing voice and digital interactions, organizations can identify patterns, detect compliance risks, and uncover opportunities to improve both customer satisfaction and agent performance. “Conversation intelligence allows organizations to turn everyday interactions into actionable insights that drive better outcomes for both customers and employees,” she said. CallMiner's platform applies advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to help companies monitor and evaluate interactions at scale. These capabilities enable organizations to identify emerging trends, improve quality management programs, and provide more targeted coaching and training for agents. The conversation also highlighted how the rapid adoption of AI across the contact center is creating new expectations for visibility and data-driven decision making. As organizations adopt automation and AI-assisted workflows, understanding what is happening inside customer conversations becomes increasingly critical. As Enterprise Connect continues to highlight the role of AI in enterprise communications and customer experience, CallMiner's approach to conversation intelligence demonstrates how organizations can leverage communications data to improve performance, compliance, and customer engagement. Susy Liem, AVP of Product Management for Conferencing at Shure, spoke with Doug Green, Publisher of Technology Reseller News, during the Enterprise Connect conference about how organizations are rethinking conference room audio to better support hybrid collaboration. Liem explained that as enterprises continue adapting to hybrid work environments, the quality of audio in meeting spaces has become increasingly critical. Clear, reliable audio ensures that both in-room participants and remote attendees can fully engage in meetings without technical barriers. “Audio is often the most important part of the meeting experience—if people can't hear clearly, the entire collaboration breaks down,” she said. Shure has focused on developing conferencing solutions that simplify deployment while delivering professional-grade audio performance. The company's microphone and conferencing systems are designed to integrate seamlessly with modern collaboration platforms while supporting a wide range of room sizes and meeting configurations. Liem noted that organizations are moving beyond basic conferencing setups toward more advanced systems that automatically manage audio pickup, noise reduction, and speaker clarity. These capabilities help create a consistent experience for participants regardless of where they are located. As enterprise communications leaders gathered at Enterprise Connect to explore the future of collaboration technology, Shure highlighted the growing importance of high-quality audio infrastructure in enabling effective hybrid meetings and improving overall workplace communication. At a time when "agents" and AI dominate every conversation, it is easy to forget that the ultimate channel is the consumer. In this RETHINK Retail episode, host DeAnn Campbell, Head of Retail Strategy at AAG Consulting and Scott Wueschinski, AVP of Retail Applied Advisory at Genpact, cut through the noise to explain why the human experience is the only real competitive advantage left. Strategic Takeaways: - Cooperative Returns: Moving away from punitive fees by giving customers better tools to get the fit right the first time. - Associate-First Design: Shifting toward frontline tools that employees actually want to use, rather than systems they are penalized for ignoring. - The Data Reality: Why AI agents won't save a business if the foundational data is "crap in, crap out". - The Multiplier Effect: How fixing low-hanging fruit in the store, like removing outdated kiosks, at the same time you deploy AI drives immediate results. Stop chasing "shelfware." Tune in to learn how to balance high-tech agents with the human touch that builds true brand stickiness.
