We finally sailed Disney Cruise Line's newest ship, the Disney Destiny, on a rare seven-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary and it delivered the exact kind of vacation we crave: less planning, more living. From the moment we boarded in Fort Lauderdale and stepped into the Grand Hall, we felt the switch flip into full cruise mode. Did we get to do everything we wanted even with the extra days? No - but that just means we'll have to go back!We talk through embarkation day realities (including a brutal port traffic surprise), why Platinum status is a game-changer, and the surprisingly important little details like where to stay the night before and when not to overdo breakfast. We also get nerdy and practical about Disney cruise planning. We sailed with two staterooms so we could split Castaway Club perks, then used Guest Services to grab extra door-only key cards without risking the dreaded reservation “dump.” If you've ever tried to book tastings, excursions, or adult dining with a complicated party setup, our workaround will save you stress. And yes, we brought back Sips On The Ships, our onboard pub crawl, complete with passports, bracelets, and a WhatsApp group that kept the fun rolling.Ports and onboard experiences get the full review: Lookout Key at Lighthouse Point beach strategy, San Juan's El Morro fort (and the heat), an “on brand” stop at Casa Bacardi, and St Martin's unforgettable 12-meter regatta where we crewed an America's Cup racing yacht. We cover Palo Prima Note, Palo dinner, Hook's Barbery old-fashioned tasting, Marvel and villain storytelling, Dr Facilier's Parlor, Pirates night, and our honest take on the Hercules stage show. If you're researching a Disney Destiny cruise review, Eastern Caribbean Disney Cruise Line itinerary, or tips for adult tastings and entertainment, this one is for you.Subscribe for more Disney Cruise Line trip reports, share this with your favorite cruise planner, and leave a rating and review so more Disney fans can find us.----Adventures & Mousecapades is a passion project from Alicea & Nathan Novak - two Seattleites addicted to The Mouse. In this episode of the WGI Unleashed Podcast, hosts Dan and Katie are back in our Fort Lauderdale office to sit back down with David Gerber, Project Manager on our transportation team! David is a two-time guest, a "two-peat" he happily likens to Steve Martin's SNL record. Last time around, he got a little feedback for being too tight-lipped about his coworkers, so this time he came prepared to fix that, handing out shout-outs across thirteen years and five offices… From Miami to Lakeland David was born in Miami and lived there until he was about five, when Hurricane Andrew came through and cost his parents their jobs. The family moved north to Lakeland, the Central Florida town tucked between Tampa and Orlando, where he grew up. By his own account, the third-best restaurant in town back then was Publix. He was a classic-rock kid who played the drums and, at a high school too small to have a band, tried to start a drum line of his own. His path toward engineering began somewhere less obvious: a pile of Legos on the living room floor. David says he was drawn to the field partly because he assumed it would involve as little writing as possible, a theory that every report, invoice, and email since has cheerfully disproven. Two Business Cards David headed to the University of Miami in 2005, but when the tuition math stopped working, he transferred across town to Florida International University and finished his degree while working in the school's structures lab. His summers went to roadway construction, first on a bridge job down in the Keys, then on a turnpike widening up in Orlando. Here's the full-circle part. At his very first college career fair, David walked away with two business cards: one from a construction company, one from WGI. He went with the construction company. Years later, when that firm pulled out of Florida during the 2010 slowdown, he ran into Brett Fuller at a wedding and heard that Fuller's company was interviewing for a position. David wasn't sure about the role, but he thought, "Why not?". A full day of round-robin interviews with the entire West Palm Roadway group later, he finally cashed in that second business card. The Work: Interchanges, Depositions, and Five Offices David started as a project engineer back when WGI's roadway team was small enough to count the PE's on one hand. The jump to project manager came with a line he still quotes: "I will never pay you more to do less." Get the design down cold, the thinking goes, and you earn the tracking, invoicing, staff-hour estimates, and resource planning that come with running projects. He compares it to learning guitar, where nobody masters it after one song. Design, he's quick to add, is still his favorite part of the job. Over thirteen years he's worked out of five WGI offices, a run almost no one at the company can match. Right now he's wrapping up a brand-new interchange up in Orlando, laying out ramps on ground where nothing exists yet. The project comes with heavy right-of-way work and eminent domain, and property owners entitled to a real appraisal, which means David has answered for his designs under deposition. Ask him what keeps him at WGI and the answer is simple. Dump out a bowl of alphabet soup and you can spell every engineering firm in the country, all chasing the same projects for the same clients. What's different, he says, is the people. Life Outside the Office Off the clock, David is a self-described foodie who books the hard-to-get tables months in advance and plans trips around them. He married his wife, Kristen, in Jupiter this past December, then the two Floridians spent their honeymoon ice fishing over New Year's in Kennebunk, Maine, huddled in a heated tent, drinking champagne, and photographing the bucket that passed for a restroom. Napa and Chicago are next on the list. Home is a townhouse they share with Bruno, the world's most outgoing miniature dachshund, and two gray cats, including a Nebelung named Charcoal who once relocated to Austin with him. A second doxy, Gus, is on the way. As for hidden talents, David is ambidextrous, which he insists just means he's equally bad with both hands. He also does a John Madden impression that only surfaces after four beers, and in 2018 he talked a group of West Palm interns into learning to juggle, on the theory that sharper hand-eye coordination makes for better drafting. Tune In For a guy who once got flagged for being too tight-lipped, David more than made up for it this time around.... His episode runs on career advice, road-trip stories, and shout-outs to just about everyone he's worked with. The videotaped deposition of Virginia Roberts Giuffre taken on January 16, 2016, in Fort Lauderdale sits at the center of the bitter legal war between Epstein survivors' attorneys Bradley Edwards and Paul Cassell and Alan Dershowitz, who was accused by Giuffre of sexually abusing her when she was a minor trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein. In the deposition, Giuffre gives a detailed, sworn narrative of how she was recruited by Ghislaine Maxwell, groomed, trafficked to powerful men, and moved across multiple jurisdictions while still underage. She identifies Epstein's residences, flight patterns, intermediaries, and specific encounters, placing her allegations firmly inside the broader trafficking structure rather than as isolated claims. The testimony was preserved on video precisely because her lawyers anticipated that credibility, consistency, and demeanor would become central issues in the defamation battle that followed. It also captured Giuffre under oath before years of public pressure, media narratives, and evolving legal strategies could reshape the record. What made this deposition legally explosive was its direct role in the defamation and civil litigation between Dershowitz and the Edwards–Cassell team, after Giuffre publicly accused Dershowitz and he responded with an aggressive campaign claiming she had fabricated the allegations and falsely implicated him. The video became a critical piece of evidence in determining whether Giuffre's statements were knowingly false or grounded in a consistent trafficking account supported by contemporaneous detail. Dershowitz's lawyers later argued that contradictions, memory gaps, and timeline disputes undermined her credibility, while Giuffre's side pointed to the overall coherence of her narrative and the corroborating travel and contact records emerging in parallel cases. Long before the unsealing battles and public reckonings, this deposition quietly locked in one of the earliest comprehensive sworn accounts of Epstein's trafficking network—and the legal fault line that would later fracture the reputations of some of the most powerful lawyers and institutions tied to the case.to  contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:1257-12.pdfBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.

Being an AT in Florida offers many opportunities. Dr. Pradeep Vanguri joins Ben Stephenson and Jeremy Jackson to share what being an AT in Florida is like. Leadership in the Sunshine State: Dr. Pradeep Vanguri on the Future of Athletic Training in Florida Jeremy Jackson and Ben Stevenson welcome Dr. Pradeep Vanguri, President of the Athletic Trainers Association of Florida (ATAF), to the Sports Medicine broadcast podcast to discuss the professional landscape in Florida. Dr. Vanguri shares his personal journey and outlines the crucial initiatives shaping athletic training across the 67 counties of Florida. Dr. Vanguri’s interest in sports medicine began in high school in North Carolina, but his decision to become an athletic trainer was cemented in college at East Carolina University after realizing he preferred being on the sideline with teams over working in a clinic or hospital setting. He eventually moved to the state of Florida, where his focus on service led him to the ATAF. His leadership journey within the Athletic Trainers Association of Florida includes: Serving as the Education Committee Chair for approximately six years. Serving as Secretary for three years. Serving as Vice President and then President-Elect. Currently, he is in his third year of a three-year term as ATAF President, guiding the profession in Florida. The Athletic Trainer Landscape in Florida Dr. Vanguri emphasizes that the core strength of athletic training in Florida is its people—the dedicated clinicians and the close-knit professional community. The state offers numerous settings for athletic trainers, including industrial, college/university, secondary school, and professional teams like the Miami Dolphins, Panthers, and Inter Miami. The state also provides excellent opportunities for new and seasoned athletic trainers to continue their practice through collaboration, mentorship, and access to research from academic programs. A common issue is the lack of full-time coverage and a high rate of turnover for athletic trainers across the 67 counties. The ATAF’s goal is to recruit talent to Florida and work to ensure they stay by focusing on appropriate coverage, quality of life, and compensatory salary and benefits. Medical systems across major regions of Florida, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, and the Panhandle, are supporting these efforts. Dr. Vanguri detailed three major initiatives he is championing during his tenure as President in Florida: Loan Reimbursement Inclusion: Working to include athletic trainers in an existing state loan reimbursement program for rural assistance, which is centered within the Florida Department of Health, without asking for an increase in overall program funding. Third-Party Reimbursement: A critical effort to quantify the value of athletic trainers and establish them as licensed medical professionals who deserve a “seat at the table” in the broader medical community. The ATAF is focused on supporting entities with a strong medical system infrastructure in Florida that can handle the billing. CPR and AED Initiative: Working to help the general public understand the importance of layperson CPR and addressing the lack of interest in helping a victim due to the fear of legal retribution. Why Athletic Trainers Should Choose Florida Dr. Vanguri's sales pitch for the state of Florida centers on its people. He urges athletic trainers to move to Florida for the opportunity to connect with individuals making a difference, as well as for the mentorship, research opportunities, and clinical growth provided by the state's top-notch athletic trainers and supportive medical systems. While the sunshine and alligators are a perk, the central reason to come and stay in Florida is the robust professional community and the emphasis on work-life balance. The Athletic Trainers Association of Florida annual meeting is scheduled for July 10th to 12th in Orlando, Florida. Barbara and Jacie share “hot takes” after CIRSx 2026 in Fort Lauderdale. Barbara attended in person and Jacie watched virtually. They discuss feeling “weird vibes” and a more corporate yet conflicted identity, with misalignment about whether the conference is for providers, patients, or remediators, and concerns about limited innovation within the Shoemaker community. They encourage practitioners to seek innovation through CIRS Lab and mention Dr. Lacey Venanzi and Dr. Christian Navarro-Torres' work. They highlight standout talks from Brian Tinker on safe homes, Dr. Venanzi on endotoxemia/actinos in the gut, Mike Pelletier on patient lifestyle changes, Dr. Kellyn Milani on being stalked by a patient, Louise Carter on GENIE patterns, Jack Goetz on building a CIRS-conscious home, and Kayleigh Concannon on low-tox furnishings, while noting many other talks felt unhelpful and lacking actionable takeaways. Trading Secrets

This week, Jason is joined by professional soccer player, FC Dallas defender, US Men's National Team player, Gold Cup champion, World Cup participant, and founder of the Shaq Moore Foundation, Shaq Moore, for a conversation about the business of professional soccer, the financial realities of playing overseas, World Cup pressure, MLS salaries, and building a lasting career in a sport that continues to grow in the United States. Shaq reflects on realizing at a young age that soccer could become his career, and how attending the 2010 World Cup helped fully shift his focus back to the sport. With a father who also played professionally, Shaq grew up around the game, but his path was far from traditional. As a teenager, he left the United States to pursue his dream in Spain, where he spent years grinding through lower divisions, learning the language, and fighting for every opportunity. Jason and Shaq dive into the financial side of that journey, including what it was like earning roughly 800 to 900 euros per month early in his career, dealing with teams that went months without paying players, and learning how to live on a budget while chasing a professional dream. Shaq opens up about the uncertainty of playing overseas, the role agents play in protecting young athletes, and why those difficult early years shaped him both personally and professionally. Shaq also breaks down how soccer contracts work, including transfer fees, buyout clauses, bonuses, incentives, and what it means when a player is sent on loan. He explains the business behind his move back to MLS, his reported transfer to Nashville SC, and how returning to the United States helped position him for a potential World Cup opportunity. The conversation also explores Shaq's experience with the US Men's National Team, from winning the Gold Cup and scoring the fastest goal in USMNT history to getting called into a World Cup qualifying window while vacationing on an island. Shaq shares what it was like being thrown into one of the most important games of qualifying, eventually making the 2022 World Cup roster, and playing against England and Iran on the world stage. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, Jason and Shaq discuss the state of the US team, the pressure of playing on home soil, World Cup ticket prices, player bonuses, endorsements, and how making a World Cup roster can change an athlete's brand and financial future. Shaq also gives his thoughts on the US group, possible contenders, and what it is really like playing against Lionel Messi. Beyond the field, Shaq opens up about financial planning as a professional athlete, budgeting for a career with an uncertain shelf life, working with a financial advisor, investing for the future, and learning from the stories of athletes who made millions but struggled after their playing careers ended. Shaq also shares the work he is doing through the Shaq Moore Foundation, including youth soccer clinics, food drives, community initiatives, and opportunities for kids in Fort Lauderdale and Trinidad and Tobago. He reflects on fatherhood, life in Dallas, future coaching goals, and the importance of staying grounded through every stage of the journey. From grinding in Spain for less than $1,000 a month to representing the United States on the World Cup stage, Shaq reveals what it really takes to stay the course, survive setbacks, and build a career in professional soccer. Shaq reveals all this and so much more in another episode you can't afford to miss! Subscribe to the Trading Secrets podcast!
