Every spring, the Department of Theology and Philosophy at Marian University co-sponsors the Bishop Simon Bruté Lecture with the Bishop Simon Bruté College Seminary. This year, the fourth annual Bishop Simon Bruté Lecture will be given by Bishop Charles Thompson of the diocese of Evansville, who comes to us at the invitation of the rector of the Bishop Simon Bruté College Seminary, Fr. Robert Robeson. The lecture took place on Monday evening, March 23, 2015, at 7 p.m. in room 150 of the Evans Center on the campus of Marian University.
Every spring, the Theology-Philosophy Department of Marian University co-sponsors with the Bishop Simon Bruté College Seminary a lecture of interest to the general public, the Bishop Simon Bruté Lecture. This year, the third annual Bishop Simon Bruté Lecture was given by Fr. Denis Robinson, O.S.B., the president-rector and associate professor of Systematic Theology at St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. The lecture this year was an opportunity for the Marian University community to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of the Vatican II document known as Lumen Gentium. Fr. Robinson’s lecture was entitled, “What does Athens have to do with Jerusalem? Theology and Politics in a New Millennium.” The lecture took place on Monday evening, February 24, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. in Lecture Hall 1, also called Room 150 of the Evans Center on the campus of Marian University.
