My friends often joke that I am a predictable, spiritual stereotype. They joke that they can predict my answers and ideas based on the punchlines of comedians who mock the religious… They aren't wrong.The Meaning CrisisI am one of those people the meaning crisis beat into the darkness from which I thought I would never return. Over my life I became increasingly disconnected from my family, my friends, my faith and my life. My family tend to judge me without care or compassion for my own mental or physical health. I am an avatar for their wishes, dreams, and expectations and not a person in and of myself. Friends are physically so far away, because I have lived all over the country, my friends live all over the country and it is hard to keep in touch with them, especially as it has become harder for me to travel. The church abandoned God for the Republican Party. My body keeps me from doing so many of the things I want to do as my chronic ailments have gotten worse over time.The results of all of this is I am left drowning in the same sea of disconnection and loneliness as everyone. I've been able to keep my head above water, but it is so tempting sometimes to just let myself go under. While I know or at least see a path to the shore, riptides keep pulling me back out to sea.Current events don't help. Every time I watch the news, my faith in the social contract, progress, and our ability to correct errors is shaken and cracked. I know historically, the ideological pendulum swings back and forth. It is hard to live through this prolonged swing to the right especially when as the mechanics of the state have been twisted to cover up and prevent the pendulum from swinging back the other way.I know I am not the only one feeling all this, but I don't see enough spiritual teachers being honest about it.The Light in the DarknessAt the dances I was one of the most untiring and gayest. One evening a cousin of Sasha, a young boy, took me aside. With a grave face, as if he were about to announce the death of a dear comrade, he whispered to me that it did not behoove an agitator to dance. Certainly not with such reckless abandon, anyway. It was undignified for one who was on the way to become a force in the anarchist movement. My frivolity would only hurt the Cause.I grew furious at the impudent interference of the boy. I told him to mind his own business, I was tired of having the Cause constantly thrown into my face. I did not believe that a Cause which stood for a beautiful ideal, for anarchism, for release and freedom from conventions and prejudice, should demand the denial of life and joy. I insisted that our Cause could not expect me to became a nun and that the movement should not be turned into a cloister. If it meant that, I did not want it. “I want freedom, the right to self-expression, everybody's right to beautiful, radiant things.” Anarchism meant that to me, and I would live it in spite of the whole world — prisons, persecution, everything. We are at our best when we are really and truly alive and bringing that vitality to our causes.Anarchism is simply the rejection of unjust hierarchies and working through right relationship in accordance with the sovereignty of ourselves and others to build an equitable world. I want to build and live in a just, equitable, and compassionate world. That goal is the light on the path out of the meaning crisis for me. That is why I share it to the best of my ability.Science and reason are great, but they have nothing to offer to the search of meaning, purpose, or fulfillment. We can study those things all we want, but their is no way to objectively measure happiness, fulfillment, meaning, purpose, and connection. We need a different technology for those things, and we have three: religion, spirituality, and magic. The problem is they have been used to control, dominate, and suppress people. Any technology can be misused, that doesn't mean we throw it out. We have to reclaim it for its proper and good use.How do we find meaning?These are like diagnostic questions you can ask about in order to (sort of) measure how much meaning in life you have. What do you want to exist even if you don't?Second, how real is it? Is it really real? Third, how much of a difference do you make to it now? If you can answer all three of those you have meaning in life. If one of them is missing, it's reduced. If they're all missing, you're in trouble.John Vervaeke, Metaphysics of MatteringThese are the diagnostic questions to discover how much meaning we have in our lives:* What do we want to exist even if it doesn't?* How real is what we want to exist? * How much of a difference do we make to building it now? The better we can answer those questions, the more meaning we have in our lives. I want to live in a world without unjust hierarchies, where everyone has access to meaning. I want to be a part of a movement where everyone can and does dance when they want. That is why I am a practitioner of Creation Spirituality.Creation Spirituality and the Meaning CrisisCreation Spirituality offers a clear and simple pattern to find meaning for ourselves individually and as a collective. That tool is the Four Paths, which is one of the most powerful spiritual technologies I have ever found to build and rebuild meaning and never forget to dance.Path One: The Way of Awe (Via Positiva)The first path begins with Awe, reminding us that we are born in Original Blessing in a world that is good (ki tov), that grace is always available to us and we exist as conduits for that grace to enter the world. How does the first path answer these questions?What do we want to exist on the first path even if it doesn't?We want to experience the jaw-dropping awe of the cosmos, savoring it with all our hearts. We use those experiences to build communities of hospitality where we, like Earth, are welcoming to all.We want to experience joy in our daily life, where we work from the desires of our hearts to build a better world for each other and the world to come.This exists on a small scale in our personal lives, but we desire to see this joy, awe, and enjoyment of life be available to all.How real is what we want to exist? This world is available to all, but is kept from most of our grasp by the greedy and the power hungry. We make enough food to feed everyone on Earth and have enough housing for a roof over everyone's head. It is only greed and the need of a few to dominate others that we are not living in that reality now.How much of a difference do we make to building it now? The more we work to help everyone savor the joys of life, the closer we get to it being a reality for all. Through mutual aid, collective bargaining, community organizing, and deep friendships, we grow ever closer to bringing this reality to all.That might not seem true, but that is because there are too many people striving to keep power, wealth, healthcare, food, and shelter under the control of a greedy and fearful elite. The more of us who are working for the liberation of all, the fewer there are taking food, safety, and life from those who are deprived of their birthrights.Path Two: The Way of Mystery (Via Negativa)What do we want to exist on the second path even if it doesn't?In path two, we let go of the delusional certainty that we know everything and we reject the lie that we must ignore suffering and those who are in pain. What we want is the space to acknowledge our wounds so they might be tended and healed. We want the room to speak the truth to power that power fears. We want the mindfulness to sit with our pain, acknowledge it, and reveal the depth of harm existing in the current system.How real is what we want to exist? Some of us have a mindfulness practice and have built support groups and healing circles. We see the hope and healing they bring into our lives. With a little effort and collective will, we can open space to air the issues we have and are enduring, because there can be no reconciliation without the truth coming out first.How much of a difference do we make to building it now? The work we are currently doing helps so many people, but through the circumstances imposed on us by the systems that exist now, so many others fall through the cracks. We need to continue to offer the help we are now and build a world where the resources exist to make these resources available to everyone.Path Three: The Way of Creativity (Via Creativa)On the third path, we trust our voices, our hands, and our bodies to bring the wonder we found in path one and the maturity and strength we found in path two into the world through creative conversation, organizing, cooking, poetry, writing, art, and countless other means. We channel the compassion and wisdom we generate in the first two paths into modes of sharing that compassion and wisdom to others.What do we want to exist on the third path even if it doesn't?While our culture does not embrace the importance of art in all its varied forms, some of us embrace it and offer the fruits of our labor to the world. Our work is very real, which is why the powerful and the greedy work so hard to commodify it and control it by the whims of the rich and powerful.How real is what we want to exist?Even through the efforts of the powerful to co-opt and control creativity and our imaginations, so many continue to work from the heart. If we found better ways to support the arts and those who create it, even more would be able to share their glimpses of the world through their own eyes. Creativity is real, but we need to do more to encourage everyone to take part in the creativity yearning to break free from their hearts. How much of a difference do we make to building it now? Creativity changes the world. Stories are empathy machines (Roger Ebert) that change the way we see others and ourselves. Art changes the way we see the world. The reason tyrants always go after free speech is so they can close off the imaginations of the people so they will accept their vile rule. All creativity, no matter how small, changes the world for someone.Path Four: The Way of Transformation (Via Transformativa)In path four, we take the compassion and creativity born though the first three paths and carry it into the world through justice movements and celebration.What do we want to exist on the fourth path even if it doesn't?Truth exists. It is born from the relationship between facts and how they impact people and the world. Justice movements push back oppression and celebration builds sanctuaries for us to recharge and renew our strength for justice making.How real is what we want to exist? The rich and the powerful have arrayed themselves against the work of justice and hope. The movements exist, but they need to grow and take back the power from those who seek control over others.How much of a difference do we make to building it now? Each person who joins a justice movement or who makes a sanctuary for those working for justice makes this even more of a reality. Together through collective action we change the world.This is why I practice Creation SpiritualityCreation Spirituality is a fount of meaning and purpose. The practice focuses us on the daily activities that help us find meaning every day, even in the darkest times. You don't have to agree with my politics and I don't have to agree with yours. We do need to agree with need for justice, compassion, wonder, mindfulness, and creativity. These things will liberate us all from those seeking to control us for their own selfish aims. The Rockefeller Foundation has officially partnered with Beast Philanthropy, the organization run by Jimmy Donaldson, or MrBeast, the world's so-called #1 creator/influencer. According to a joint press release, the “strategic partnership is designed to meet young people where they are—online—and channel their desire for purpose into meaningful global action.” The partnership intends to promote global development, poverty alleviation, and sustainable impact. Billionaire Les Wexner, named extensively alongside Jeffrey Epstein, also runs a foundation looking to advocate the same goals, with emphasis on LGBT, climate, and racism. Wexner's foundation was not only funded with large sums of money from people like Epstein, but his entire wealth, upon which the foundation is constructed, was built on his being possessed by a demon named dybbuk, which he documents in a 1985 interview. In his own words.Back in the 1940s, the Rockefeller Foundation also financed a man named Alfred Kinsey, a reported homosexual who had a keen interest in sexuality and taboo sexual practices. In fact, Kinsey is considered the founder of the sexual revolution in the United States, just as Magnus Hirschfeld, who ran the world's first trans clinic, was the leader of the same movement in 1920s Germany. Other than his own sexuality, and an interest in pedophiles and sexual contact with children in general, Kinsey was inspired by none other than another Beast named Aleister Crowley, the sexual deviant, who was an agent of British Intelligence as much as Epstein was an agent of Israel-US intelligence. And according to a declassified CIA document, “Foundation Support for Research in the fields of Behavioral Sciences,” the CIA paid the Rockefeller Foundation, among others, large sums of money to conduct research in areas like “parapsychology” and studies on groups of “gifted individuals,” programs that often involved children, for which the television show Stranger Things was inspired in part. In 2024 the U.S. National Security Archive published a document collection highlighting the “CIA and the Behavioral Sciences: Mind Control, Drug Experimentation and MKULTRA,” and behind that researcher was the funneling of money to foundations like Rockefeller. The legacy of these experiments connects to the Kubark Counterintelligence Interrogation report from 1963 which discussed using psychological techniques, including fear, threats, and pain, along with narcotics and coercion, to compel compliance. Considering that drug companies like Eli Lilly played a role in distributing the CIA enough drugs for its experiments, it makes perfect sense how both in the US and UK not only were influencers paid by the government to promote corporate products, but Yale University set out the psychological messaging to coerce people into taking vaccines with threats of “trust the science,” “embarrassment,” “anger,” and “guilt,” while the UK literally employed fear campaigns to “frighten the pants off everyone,” as per Matt Hancock, former health secretary. Cabinet secretary Simon Case replied to that comment with “the fear/guilt factor.”The Tavistock Institute - Foundation is an extension of Magnus Hirschfeld's Institute of Sexual Science today. In 2019 Marcus Evans, one of the foundation's governors, resigned, accusing management of having an “overvalued belief” in the exercise of Gender Identity Development Service. Parents likewise accused the organization of “fast-tracking” young people into changing gender.  We can see in all of these cases the a plan to “meet young people where they are—online—and channel their desire for purpose into meaningful global action,” is a recruitment campaign to create “social justice warriors” and “revolutionaries,” or rather what former Soviet journalist Yuri Bezmenov said: demoralize, destabilize, and create ongoing crises that can be normalized to chance the social order.  The announcement also comes just a few days before the third (first, second) and most direct Fort Bragg psychological warfare video was released stating how in psy-war, “we are everywhere.” So, how do you fight these invisible enemies? Someone had discovered a photograph of Ypi's grandparents on their honeymoon and posted it on a public Facebook group. Ypi — a philosophy professor from Albania who teaches at the London School of Economics — was dismayed by the comments on the photograph, which ranged from inaccurate to judgmental to just plain mean. Were the husband and wife in this photo Albanian aristocrats? Fascist collaborators? Victims of Communism? Responding to the trolls — as well as, as she puts it, “taking the trolls seriously” — Ypi decided to write a book reconstructing her grandparents' story. The result is Indignity: A Life Reimagined, a book which asks, among other things, what does human dignity really mean? Working with clients in psychoanalysis, one of the hardest tasks is helping them to see the negative things they do without realizing it. Self-destructive habits, procrastination of important activities, reckless or careless behaviors -- these all have causes from deep inside that we can't get to without help.Freud mistakenly linked these to what he called Thanatos -- a death drive -- proposing that we had a drive of destruction directed against life. Freud saw it as a complement to the life drive -- Eros -- and he saw both as part of our nature.That's a tough one to wrap your head around.But chew on this: Freud was an atheist. The idea of a struggle between life and nothingness was probable for him. Keppe, though, takes us back a step: we're not programmed for death, so to speak. We're infused with and immersed in life and goodness. Happiness and success is our natural inheritance then. Keppe's eminently hopeful perspective sees problems and anguish as common, but not inevitable parts of nature. For Keppe, what goes wrong circles back to human doings -- both individually and collectively. After our “AILIEN The Final Card” show, it became apparent that the push to grant mass “amnesty” to every person and agency involved in black budget programs was a dangerous narrative gaining more traction by the day, and now compounded by an executive order from the White House titled “Launching the Genesis Mission.” This program seeks to support, along with the AI regulation moratorium of the BBB, the narrative that “America is in a race for global technology dominance in the development of artificial intelligence (AI).” The first section states: “the challenges we face require a historic national effort, comparable in urgency and ambition to the Manhattan Project that was instrumental to our victory in World War II.” But what suddenly changed? Have other countries cracked the AI egg entirely or has, as the UFO community suggests, they reverse engineered alien tech fully? Even so, a dangerous nationwide Manhattan Project should be a secret, not a public initiative. One part of the EO says the goal is to develop "AI-enabled predictive models, simulation models, and design optimization tools,” things that have been sold to the public over and over again, from climate change to pandemic models, but which have all been wrong. But if AI says something is true based on a model, it must be correct. However, if AI is merely saying what is most likely based on current actions, like a tarot reading, then if all current policies are designed for war then isn't that what we will get? Isn't that what Alex Karp of Palantir said would happen? And isn't “Genesis” also “skynet”?For those left waiting for something “big” to happen it will be disappointing to learn that it already has. Engineered smart/micro-dust is currently turning the world into a giant sensor, while Sam Altman of the Stargate Project, OpenAI, and the Orb, is now funding CRISPR-based embryo gene editing as the alterer-of-man.And to keep us entertained during this slow-burn apocalyptic invasion, we have KION, an AI-created K-pop star who's clearly created with all he best black goo moments from Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and the like. There is a lot of talk around giving “amnesty” to defense contractor and anyone who may have played a role in the UFO coverup, mixed with calls for “unprecedented levels of international collaboration” to deal with what has been termed a “potential national security threat.” Much of this has to do with debates over energy, but what if the assumed ‘holy energy grail' is but a fragment of a larger technological advancement, mainly Artificial Intelligence. What if we are being “gifted” technological blueprints to build a gateway, not unlike the movie Contact. This would explain why we can build AI, but don't understand how it works. Has anyone else noticed that “disclosure” has paralleled the rapid advances in “AI,” just as the entire UFO-energy debate always revolves around saving the planet from environmental destruction, or the UFO-tech debate always focuses on advanced technologies that can be used to track and trace, and kill. NO, Project Bluebeam is not a real program - it was a theory proposed by a Canadian writer named Serge Monast. No, Carol Rosin did not say there would be a “fake alien invasion.” She said that the “alien card” was a plan to build “space-based weapons against aliens,” but it would all be a lie. Right on cue, as “disclosure” has unfolded, we are told at every official opportunity that there is a “potential national security threat,” and it is this “threat” that is needed to justify an overhauling of space and society. In fact, the invisible “alien threat” is not much different than the invisible virus threat, an idea even Time Magazine played with in 2020. In condensed terms, let's give amnesty to the people we need to build weapons against a new threat, and in the process we can rush to beat China and Russia to the punch, an absurdity in itself considering how long the UFO question has been pondered. The twelfth-century Andalusian philosopher Averroes sought to understand the divine in a way independent of religious theology, by turning to the philosophical works of Aristotle and, to a lesser extent, Plato. In doing so, he established standards of scientific inquiry into God that were and remain highly influential on Jewish and Christian thought. Averroes, however, does not provide much in the way of demonstrative knowledge of God, and most of his arguments remain dialectical, rhetorical, or political. This volume explores the various pathways towards attaining divine knowledge that we find in Averroes' commentaries on Aristotle's De Anima, Metaphysics, and Nicomachean Ethics, and on Plato's Republic, along with Averroes' Epistle on Divine Knowledge, Decisive Treatise, and more. Yehuda Halper is Professor in the Department of Jewish Philosophy at Bar Ilan University. He is currently a aisiting professor at University of Chicago Divinity School. His first monograph, Jewish Socratic Questions in an Age without Plato (Brill, 2021) won the Goldstein-Goren Book Award for the best book in Jewish Thought in 2019-2021. He is currently directing the ISF grant (#622/22) "Samuel Ibn Tibbon's Explanation of Foreign Terms and the Foundations of Philosophy in Hebrew." It's been almost exactly a year since we had Brien Foerster on the show, and we welcome him back to talk about his research in Egypt, attempts to date Puma Punku, and updates on his work on Elongated Skulls. Brien was born in Rochester, Minnesota, U.S.A. but grew up on the west coast of Canada. At age 11, he became fascinated with the Native art of the Haida native people, and began carving totem poles, and other related art forms, learning from Native teachers. After completing an Honours Bachelor Of Science degree, Brien decided to take up carving and sculpture full time, at the age of 25. In 1995 he moved to Maui, Hawaii, and was hired as assistant project manager for the building of the 62 foot double hull sailing canoe ( ancestor of the modern day catamaran ) Mo'okiha O Pi'ilani ( Sacred Lizard That Pierces The Heavens ) and the restoration of the famous Mo'olele sailing canoe. This project lasted 2 years. There, having learned how to make Hawaiian outrigger canoe paddles from master carver Keola Sequiera, he started an online outrigger paddle business, which flourished internationally. Peru became his next major area of interest. The study of the Inca culture led to his writing a book, A Brief History Of The Incas which is available on this site, and is now the assistant director of the Paracas History Museum in Paracas, south of Lima. He is also assisting the municipality of Paracas to improve the number of foreign tourists that visit, as well as is fundamental in expanding tourism in general, especially as regards showing all visitors the 10,000 years of human occupation of this area, through tours of major and minor archaeological sites. Other projects, which will result in published books, include one about the ancient history of Hawaii, the mysterious stone monuments of Peru that predate the Inca, and the search for the lost continent of Mu. This will require combining all that he has learned so far, with trips to New Zealand (Aotearoa), Hawaii, and Easter island (Rapanui.)
