Jonathan Carr and Jake Grimmer
Episode 6 “From Depression to Progression” In this episode we’re joined by Josh Tye talking about his journey as a young male suffering from depression, anxiety and other mental health issues. These issues led to Josh being sectioned and admitted to a mental health hospital in his early 20’s and he talks us through the affects this had on his life, including family and his relationship with his now fiancé. Thanks to Josh for opening up so much about his life and his mental health, I’m sure his story will resonate with lots of people and really shed a light on what happens behind closed doors, even at a young age. We hope you enjoy this episode and we will have more information about future episodes for you very soon. Stay positive, stay smiling, Jake and Jonny❤️
Episode 5 “Eating Disorders” In this episode we’re joined by Sophie Grimmer, Jake’s sister, talking about her experiences with eating disorders and their effects on teenage/adult life, family, friends, relationships and more. Thanks to Sophie for coming on the show and talking openly about her life as it’s not the easiest thing to do. This is a topic I’m sure we’ll cover again in future episodes as it affects so many people. Episode 6 “From Depression to Progression” will be out next Monday featuring guest speaker Josh Tye talking about his experiences with depression and being sectioned at a young age. Thank you again to everyone who has tuned in so far and we apologise for the delay in getting this episode to you but we needed a month out to focus on our careers but fingers crossed we’re back for good now! All the love, Jake and Jonny❤️
Episode 4 “The Highs and Lows of Bipolar” Happy New Year everyone, we hope you all had a great New Years Eve and I’m sure quite a few of you will be listening to this with a sore head so you’ll be pleased to know it’s a funny one, it always is when we link up with Dom! In this New Years Day Special we’re joined by Dom Uppiah talking about his experience with Bipolar disorder and how it had affected him from a very young age. We talk about it’s affects on his daily life, career, friendships, relationships, family life and more. Dom has a larger than life personality and we’re truly honoured to have met and know him personally. For us this was a really interesting episode as both of us know about Bipolar but have never experienced it so it was very intriguing to hear Dom’s story and journey with Bipolar. Thank you again to Dom for coming on the show and opening up about his past and current battles. We look forward to working more with Dom in 2020. Happy New Year everyone, love Jake and Jonny❤️

We both look forward to working with Nick in 2020 and can’t wait to share more with you. Once again have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we’ll be back with episode 4 on New Years Day featuring special guest Dom Uppiah talking about the highs and lows of Bipolar.
Chit Chat: The Mental Health Podcast Episode 2 "Anxiety and Apprehension" In this episode we discuss our experiences with anxiety, along with guest speakers Glen Carr (Jonny's dad) and Jutta Grimmer (Jake's mum) talking about their experiences with anxiety and also the effects anxiety has on family life and parent-child relationships. This podcast mainly focuses on the way our parents have managed our anxiety whilst dealing with their own issues. Glen and Jutta emphasise on the fact that being understanding and apathetic of your children's mental health is paramount to their wellbeing and safety, especially when it comes to drink and drug taking. This podcast was a very emotional one for us as we talk about some very deep rooted issues with our parents but also taking positives from the fact we can now talk about these things and have this new-found understanding of both sides of the story because we've been very selfish people in the past and didn't take our parents feelings into consideration. The response to episode 1 "Introducing Your Hosts..." was crazy, I believe we have over 1000 streams across all platforms in 10 days which is far more than we ever expected so thank you to everyone that got involved and tuned in, it's greatly appreciated and very humbling. We look forward to hearing your feedback from episode 2. Much love!
Chit Chat: The Mental Health Podcast Episode 1 "Introducing Your Hosts..." Hey guys, Jake and Jonny here, in this first episode of our Chit Chat: The Mental Health Podcast we’ll be giving you an introduction to ourselves and our experiences with mental health, a little about the beginning of Chit Chat and how it came to fruition and also what we’ll be talking about in the first 4 episodes. This podcast has been a massive learning curve for both of us, we have both spoken to our friends and family about our experiences with mental health but to be recorded and for it to be available worldwide is a whole new level and we hope all things considered that the first one wasn't too bad! Certainly a lot of improvements to make but these will come naturally with time and experience. We’d like to thank Stokely Howard and Adam Jones from Trendy Grandad Creative Agency for helping and supporting us with the production and editing of the podcast, also Simon Brown from Norwich Jazz Club for helping us with the audio last minute! If you could all like, subscribe and even comment your feedback we’d be greatly appreciative! We can’t wait to show you what we have in store for you guys in the coming months!
