Polarity is a word that I have used a lot lately. It accurately depicts most of my days in business and in life.Life as an online business owner, in my current season of business, requires navigating the mental load of hundreds of humans on a daily basis. Clients, team, prospects... all of it.And with that comes polarity, which is the subject of today's podcast episode.Polarity is the term that I now use to define the fluctuating experiences that often all converge into one, on any given day.One client aces their launch. One is struggling to see sales. One is having an incredible experience and singing praises from the rooftop.Another has defaulted on payment and hasn't replied to several follow-ups.A team member or contractor is firing on all cylinders, kicking KPI goals and acting beautifully in accordance with the values of the company.Another is distant, focused on other things. You deliver a presentation and smash it.Then, you sit down to prepare a podcast and stare at a blinking cursor for an hour. You receive a compliment. You receive a complaint. They love you. They don't.All of it.Often, in the same day.As a business owner, I have been reflecting on the impact of the polarity of my days on my OWN mental load, and thought it might be helpful to share my experience with others.I'm not the expert, but in today's podcast episode I am sharing some of the things I am learning.✔️ Systematise Tough Decisions✔️ Separate Business from Self✔️ Take Action Based on Data, Not Emotion✔️ Be Clear on What You Want✔️ Don't Absorb Other's Emotions------Want to create, launch and scale a flagship online course? Here's a few ways I can help you:1. Some of the biggest and brashest figures in crypto have faced staggering losses in this current downmarket. Multiple crypto companies have filed for bankruptcy, and more than one high-flying crypto CEO has found themselves out of a job. Case in point: Michael Saylor, the co-founder and former CEO of a software services firm called MicroStrategy. But software isn't what made the company a household name among Bitcoin believers. Saylor's decision to use the company's balance sheet to bet big on Bitcoin back in 2020 is really what catapulted Microstrategy into the headlines. For a while, as Bitcoin prices rallied, that $250 million dollar bet looked like a genius move. But as prices fell, MicroStrategy found itself facing significant losses. What does this loss mean for the future of MicroStrategy, and for Michael Saylor? For more, Bloomberg senior editor Dave Liedtka and Bloomberg accounting specialist Tom Contiliano join this episode to discuss what happened at MicroStrategy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

“And it is really hard, I think, especially when imposter syndrome sort of plays on your mind saying, do I deserve to be so audacious with my dreams. And actually, for some time, I think I used to say the right thing, so I used to say that I'm playing a go big strategy, but when it came to actually making decisions, I would take a slightly safer route. And in fact an investor actually called me out on it and he said, you know, you're saying you want to go big, but your dreams do seem to be limited by some sense of restraint in your own mind.” Across the world women's participation in labour fell dramatically during the pandemic and India was no different. Except that numbers of women in the workforce had been steadily declining since 2010. Women entrepreneurs fair no better in the country - just 14% of women own or run businesses(IMF2019). So, it is no great surprise that women account for just 17% of GDP in India, less than half the global average. The barriers to entry for women are numerous - socio-cultural expectations, risk aversion, unequal access to finance and collateral, absence of support networks …. The list is endless. So, it is always good to meet with women who step out of their comfort zone to make their dreams come alive. In this case, it is my guest Anusha Bhushan, a young entrepreneur who left her career in investment banking to set up a wellness beverage brand Smoodies. How do you find balance in an ever changing world? That's the question I wanted to ask Steven Izen founder of Lokai and Elements of Balance. This is episode ep 187 with Steven Izen. Welcome to Forever Athlete Radio where together we go FAR. I'm your host Cory Camp and today we are exploring this concept of balance in a stimulated world. If you're not familiar with Steven, you've probably seen his Lokai bracelets on the wrist of someone in your life. They source mud from the Dead Sea to represent staying hopeful in life's lows and water from Mount Everest to stay humble during life's highs. Our conversation today unpacks what balance means to Steven as he's built Lokai to over 10 million bracelets sold, donating $9 million to charity in the process, all while being a father, husband, and athlete. It can be so easy to think and feel as though the trials and tribulations that we face are battles too big for God to face or that God will only be by our side when it is most convenient for Him, but that couldn't be further from the truth. We serve a God that has seen our darkest nights. He hears our deepest thoughts and knows the turmoil in our own hearts. We will never have to walk through the fire alone.

In today's solo episode, we're celebrating the Virtual Assistant (VA) Studio's two-year anniversary! I officially filed the paperwork in July 2020 to start the VA Studio. A part of me feels like it was yesterday and another part feels like it was forever ago. So in honor of celebrating this big milestone, I'm sharing the highs and the lows of entrepreneurship. Today's episode is about showing you just how much is possible in such a short amount of time. In my corporate job that I had before starting the VA Studio, I learned a lot of foundational skills to be a good business leader like how to hire and retain team members, how to train and how to build a business that you can scale sustainably. If we have to work and earn money to support a lifestyle we want, then why wouldn't we want to spend that time doing something that's worth it? And I think that's what entrepreneurship is about. It's more than just a job. It brings value to you, sparks passion and lights up your soul. I want to thank YOU for being here and listening to the podcast. It means the world to me! When we called Jacob Lawson, a 23-year-old Starbucks worker from Utah, he was on his way to another Starbucks store in Idaho to help them start a union. "It's not too far from Utah. It's 150 miles, but I've driven further to help a store unionize," he told us. By now, you've probably heard that the Starbucks union is having a moment. Since the first store successfully voted to form a union in 2021, more than 175 stores in 30 states have followed suit. The reasons for the union's success are varied — support from the established union, Workers United, and small store sizes make getting a majority vote simpler — but the Starbucks unionizing drive is also extremely collaborative, made up of mostly young people who talk to each other from stores across the country and share tips. For this episode, we invited a few of these workers to tell us what their experience has been like. I met Jacob Lawson, 20-year-old Laila Dalton from Phoenix, Arizona, and 33-year-old Benjamin South from Ithaca, New York over Zoom. When we talked on a Friday in early June, they were all experiencing different turns in the unionizing story, some victories, some defeats, and some very real consequences of going up against a multi-billion dollar company.
