6,050 continues to be a wall in the SPX, though geopolitical tensions didn't help the index as it closed lower on the session. Kevin Green points to price action falling below a key metric on the 15-minute chart that opens room for bears to pull the SPX to lower lows. He also notes volatility risk with more economic data around the corner, along with the FOMC interest rate decision on Wednesday.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day. I've always thought that romantic heartbreak was the ultimate pain, but this conversation? It challenged everything I believed about the grief of losing a friend… I sat down with the phenomenal Michelle Elman - five-time bestselling author, life coach and the renowned ‘Queen of Boundaries' - to debate the ideas in her powerful new book, "Bad Friend". We get into why society seems to place friendship at the bottom of the hierarchy of grief and I challenge her on whether losing a friend can truly hurt more than a romantic split. If you've ever felt the sting of a friendship ending, questioned your own role in your relationships or felt lonely even when surrounded by people, this episode is for you. We don't shy away from the uncomfortable questions and I share some of my own vulnerabilities and blind spots. This is a journey into the pain we rarely give ourselves permission to feel. Vegas Was Roller Coaster of EmotionsMarcus was in Vegas this weekend. The good news is that he came home a winner. The bad news was the turmoil on his flight home. They literally had to turn the plane around to remove a passenger. When Riding in the Car, What Are The Rules for Being a Passenger?Passengers complaining, followed by blocking the mirrors and reaching for the invisible brake.Drivers also don't like it when the people throw wrappers on the floor or mess with the radio.Watching loud videos on their phone or sticking their feet on the dashboard Passengers having loud phone conversations and not giving accurate directions are frustrating, too.The poll finds that 17% of women think their partner is an annoying passenger and a “backseat driver,” but 69% of men feel they're a good passenger.Nearly two-thirds (62%) of men prefer being in the driver's seat and 42% admit they like being in control.Close to half of men (45%) believe they're a better driver than their partner, but 32% of them confess that changes when they need their partner to be the designated driver.Among the guys who prefer to be the driver, 15% admit they don't like the way their partner drives. But in 20% of couples, men do the driving as part of their relationship “chore split” they agree to.And for 43% of couples, car trips regularly end in arguments, and some are so bad, 19% don't speak to each other for a while afterwards.Corey Threw Something Out She Might Regret LaterI have moved a lot, and I am trying to declutter. One of the things I purged was something that cannot be replaced ever...cuz I burned it.Second Date Update: Amy calls about John. She liked him a lot. An alarming Spanish study found vaccinated pregnant women with COVID-19 had a 13.3% miscarriage rate, compared to 4.5% for unvaccinated women. Is this a cause of the declining birthrate in the USA? A peer-reviewed study in BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth examined 156 pregnant women with COVID-19 from 2020-2022. Of the 45 vaccinated women, 13.3% miscarried, compared to 4.5% of the 111 unvaccinated women. Most miscarriages in the vaccinated group occurred in the first or second trimester, raising concerns about mRNA safety. Experts like Naomi Wolf and Nicolas Hulscher call for revising public health guidance on COVID-19 vaccines for pregnant women, citing potential reproductive harms. U.S. birth rates have declined since 2019. The general fertility rate was 58.3 births per 1,000 women aged 15-44 in 2019, dropping to 56.1 in 2022 and 54.5 in 2023, a record low. Total births fell from 3.7 million in 2019 to 3.59 million in 2023, a 2% decline from 2022. Naomi Wolf, Ph.D., is an independent journalist, co-founder, and CEO of DailyClout.io. Dr. Hillary Cauthen, Millennial, is a clinical sport psychologist based in Austin TX. Hillary was a division 1 college track athlete, before embarking on a career focusing on the mental health and mental performance dimensions of high performers. Dr. Cauthen is the Founder of Texas Optimal Performance & Psychological Services. Her private practice has steadily grown over the past decade and now includes a dedicated team of six providers delivering comprehensive care to athletes, parents, coaches, and sports organizations throughout the greater Austin, TX area. Dr. Cauthen formerly served as the Director of Organizational Wellness & Performance for Austin FC and the performance psychologist for the San Antonio Spurs, where she developed their mental performance and wellness programs. Her work with high performance is breaking down stigma across communities which is highlighted in her book, "Hello Trauma, Our Invisible Teammate” and continued in her weekly podcast titled Highs & Lows of X's & O'sHere are the topics we covered:0:00 Introduction2:27 Trauma Statistics3:50 Trauma Defined4:55 Empathy vs Sympathy7:21 The Three Trauma Reactions10:51 Shame12:57 Embarrassment15:50 Anger and Recovery18:21 Gaslighting and Fear20:44 Changing the Viewpoint22:27 Resolving Trauma25:00 Healing28:08 20 Something SelfMemorable Quotes“70% of Americans have reported experiencing trauma.”“Trauma is any physiological response that exists to you“Sympathy is saying “I'm sorry” (unintentional pity); Empathy is an emotional connection.”“Fear is a silencer of people's voices.”“Anyone living in the timeframe of 2020-2022ish experienced trauma: COVID. The level of experience and how it impacted us is different.”“Healing is like learning to walk again,..healing is living…it's taking tender, honest, active care of our wounds. Healing is forgiving and accepting ourselves without judgment, shame or anger. Healing is getting our voices back so we can speak and listen. But it's also caring for ourselves out loud publicly and for all to see and hear.” (Excerpt for Hillary's book)Here are the 3 Takeaways:When we experience trauma there are 3 places we can go to and be: the minimizer (dismiss the impact), the enabler (“It must be my fault”), and the moral authority (something really bad did happen). We will go back and forth between these during our healing phase. Until the moral authority kicks in the we really can't recover. Shame is not guilt and is an assessment of our character traits. It can create relentless negative self talk and striving for perfectionism. We don't want to fail because it creates more shame. Before shame, embarrassment, which is a socially prescribed morals and norms, can often come. It's the fear of the judgement of others that can lead to the feeling of embarrassment. Anger goes to action. It is the most powerful emotion to move differently. What we're not doing yet is having the emotional vocabulary for trauma and sitting with people's emotions. We can all experience trauma and have it impact us but it's what we do through the next phases, and the meaning we make of it, is how we get back to living healthy. Healing will eventually happen. On this episode of The Wisconsin Sportsman, Pierce sits down with Drew Schleim, host of The Predator Podcast, to recap a rollercoaster of a turkey season, and share some of the lessons learned from the past few weeks! The guys start their conversation at the start of Wisconsin's 4th turkey period, where Drew helped a hunter tag her first Wisconsin longbeard in over a decade, and managed to double up with a buddy to kick off the week. Meanwhile, Pierce was struggling after missing a layup shot on a bird, having a freaky mishap with the .410, and bumping birds all over the county before spreading his bad luck to Drew and his buddies, and eventually sealing the deal back at the home farm right at fly down. They discuss how their tactics changed throughout the season, lessons learned from this year, and what you folks should be doing to punch that late season turkey tag in these final days of the season. All that and more in this week's episode! This week, we're talking about some good news. Some very good news, actually. The murder rate, which has been on the decline for a couple of years now, is on pace to hit a record low. That's what the early data collected by Jeff Asher's AH Datalytics indicates. Asher joins the show to break down the numbers he's seeing so far. He said the murder rate surged during the pandemic, but it has already fallen back to those levels and kept dropping further. While the FBI's murder data for 2025 won't be out for nearly a year, Asher collects crime data from many of the same sources. He said his data shows a huge early decline in the murder rate that would equate to an all-time low if sustained. He cautioned that the decline is likely to slow as the year progresses, but it should still hit a record. Special Guest: Jeff Asher.
