This week on The Trawl, Jemma Forte and Marina Purkiss are knee-deep in the latest wave of outrage from poppy politics to a BBC in apparent crisis. As Remembrance Sunday came and went, the usual suspects found new ways to weaponise the poppy, turning a moment of reflection into yet another battle in the culture war. Jemma and Marina unpick the hypocrisy, the viral clips, and the veteran being used for clicks. Then, it's onto the Beeb: two top resignations, a leaked memo, and a right-wing press party that smells blood. Is this really about “bias” or something far more coordinated? The pair dive into how the BBC's latest wobble has been spun into a full-blown assault on public broadcasting. With new jingles (thank you, Simon Brown), the usual sound effects, and plenty of righteous rage, this is The Trawl doing what it does best — diving deep into the week's digital nonsense so you don't have to.Thank you for sharing and do tweet us @MarinaPurkiss @jemmaforte @TheTrawlPodcast Patreonhttps://patreon.com/TheTrawlPodcast Youtubehttps://www.youtube.com/@TheTrawl Twitterhttps://twitter.com/TheTrawlPodcastIf you've even mildly enjoyed The Trawl, you'll love the unfiltered, no-holds-barred extras from Jemma & Marina over on Patreon, including:• Exclusive episodes of The Trawl Goss – where Jemma and Marina spill backstage gossip, dive into their personal lives, and often forget the mic is on• Early access to The Trawl Meets…• Glorious ad-free episodesPlus, there's a bell-free community of over 3,300 legends sparking brilliant chat. And it's your way to support the pod which the ladies pour their hearts, souls (and occasional anxiety) into. Simon Brown joins me to share how his role at Consensys has evolved since his last appearance in January 2024 and why he's now leading the charge on the Consensys Network State. It's all about reconnecting the sprawl of the Ethereum ecosystem, reinforcing the cultural gravity that made Ethereum magical in the first place, and creating a more cohesive network of builders, founders, and ecosystem experts. In this episode, we dive into how the Consensys Network State initiative is setting the stage for Ethereum's next decade, how it's bridging gaps between projects and people, and what it means for the future of decentralized coordination. We also get into some big-picture thinking around the evolution of Ethereum, the rise of network states, stablecoin growth, and what it takes to keep that cultural gravity intact as Ethereum continues to grow.Resources Mentioned:Sobol Agreements ProtocolConsensys Network State Flashbots BuilderNetPectra UpgradeConnect with Simon Brown and Consensys:Simon Brown: X(Twitter) | LinkedIn | MediumConsensys: Website | X(Twitter) Leave a review and subscribe onApple PodcastsSpotifyMoneyNeverSleeps (website)Email us: info@norioventures.comConnect with Pete Townsend and MoneyNeverSleeps:Pete Townsend: X/Twitter | LinkedIn MoneyNeverSleeps: X/Twitter | LinkedIn | Newsletter

Another Government curriculum refresh is aiming to give school kids more grasp of money management. The Education Minister's making financial literacy a compulsory topic for Years 1 to 10. The Government's teaming up with financial organisations, banks, and charities for lessons on investment and taxes. Banqer CEO Simon Brown told Mike Hosking that on an international level, we don't stack up too badly, but there's a wide variety in the level of financial education given by schools. He says that some schools do a great job delivering to all students, but in others financial education is completely lacking, and as a result, student preparedness is left up to chance. Brown believes a lot of people appreciate the importance and value of financial education, so to see this plan come to fruition is an exciting step. In Verified Near Death Experiences: Proof Of An Afterlife, there are thirty individual profound near-death experiences, each one coupled with startling, irrefutable moments of verification that challenge our understanding of life, death, and the afterlife. These are not just personal accounts of journeys into the unknown – they are stories backed by verifiable facts that couldn't have been known in any ordinary way. From detailed descriptions of events that occurred while the experiencers were clinically dead, to vivid insights about loved ones and places they had never visited, these stories raise fundamental questions about consciousness and the boundaries of human perception. Each chapter reveals how these individuals experienced moments of divine connection, profound insight, and mystical encounters, all while providing irrefutable evidence that supports the authenticity of their experiences. A compelling exploration of the veridical nature of near-death experiences, this book offers a powerful testament to the possibility that death is not the end, but perhaps only a doorway to a deeper truth. Are we more than our bodies? Is death truly the end? And, if so, what comes next?
