Episode Two is here and it is a great one to get your brain reflecting! I was joined by Maddie Hichens, my uni tutor and a current PhD candidate at UNSW examining ‘digital anxiety' as a governing process that drives ubiquitous digital (and social) media use. Our conversation was rich and filled with depth, allowing us to really unpack the multifacted experience we have as users of digital tech. Additionally, Maddie spoke about how through viewing anxiety through the lens of digital media, we are able to conceptualise it as an experience and in a more philosophical way. This in turn allows us to become more in tune with our limits as humans. *You can contact Maddie via email: m.hichens@unsw.edu.au *The Paranoid Narcissism article mentioned can be found here or via this link - https://theamericanreader.com/paranoid-narcissism-what-dostoevsky-knew-about-the-internet/ *Further listening: BBC Radio 4s episode titled 'How bad is social media for my mental health' *Become part of the DOI Community on Instagram @doi.pod This podcast is produced on the land of the Gadigal and Wangal People and acknowledges that this will forever and always be stolen land.
