This week we review a recent meta-analysis of studies assessing efficacy of adenosine in children to terminate SVT. Does the PALS recommendation of 100 mcg/kg as a starting dose for SVT management make scientific sense given what we know about the efficacy rates of this dose? Why might inadequate doses be potentially dangerous for children with acute SVT? Is there adequate data to consider changes to the recommended starting dose in this situation? Dose adenosine work well for all forms of tachycardia involving the AV node? Pediatric emergency physician and family medicine physician, Dr. Lais dos Santos of Mossoro', Brazil shares the results of a large scale meta-analysis that she performed and offers some answers to these and other questions. After 33 years of marriage, a woman called in to ask what she should do when her husband won't hug her—and becomes angry when she asks. And y'all, that question opened the door to some really honest conversations about hurt, loneliness, and what we do when the people closest to us don't show up the way we need them to. We also talk about how to deal with intentionally mean people, helping teenagers stand up to bullies, navigating estrangement with an adult child, rebuilding trust after addiction, and how to know whether something is truly wrong in a relationship or if you're simply questioning yourself. Not all vitamins work the same. What if the difference between helping your child heal… and unintentionally holding them back… comes down to how you're using something as simple as vitamin C or D? In this episode, we're talking about two of the most commonly used nutrients in cancer care(vitamin C and vitamin D) and why dose, source, and strategy matter more than most people realize. This conversation comes from a live office hours session with Dr. Charles Pennick, where we walk through how these nutrients actually function in the body, the difference between synthetic and whole-food forms, and how to think about dosing safely, especially during active treatment. We also explore the nuances that often get missed: why vitamin C isn't just ascorbic acid, how high-dose IV vitamin C works differently than oral forms, and why pairing vitamin D with K2 is essential for proper absorption and safety. If you've ever felt confused about supplements—or wondered if you're doing "too much" or "not enough". This episode will help you approach these foundational nutrients with more clarity and confidence. On this, our 330th Evolutionary Lens livestream, we discuss pride and fascism. In California, companies get preferential consideration for utilities contracts if they can demonstrate that they belong to June's most popular “oppressed” class—LGBTQ. Proof will be required, however. Evidence can take the form of “attempted parenting” with a same-sex partner, a therapist's letter confirming transgender status, or a TikTok account, among other things. Meanwhile among the GenZ's, 31% of young women identify as LGBTQ—and mostly it's B. Young women claiming they're bisexual is yet another social contagion—it's safer than cutting or taking cross-sex hormones, and it puts you in good standing to get money from the state of California! Then: what is fascism? Umberto Eco proposed 14 features found in fascism; we review.*****Our sponsors:Dose for your Liver: Tasty drink with milk thistle, ginger, dandelion & turmeric to support liver health. #956 What if the secret to unlocking your ADHD brain isn't medication or willpower — but knowing exactly what flips your switch? In Part 2 of this two-part conversation, host Brien Gearin continues his discussion with certified life coach and DOSE founder Steev Hodgson, diving into the five proven "activation triggers" that reliably get the ADHD brain fired up: interest, challenge, novelty, urgency, and passion. Steve breaks down why self-imposed deadlines rarely work the same as real ones, how gamification and habit stacking can be game-changers for entrepreneurs, and why people with ADHD essentially see time in just two categories — now and not now. If you've ever wondered why you can hyperfocus for hours on one thing but can't seem to start another, this episode will finally give you the language — and the tools — to understand why! What we discuss with Steev: + The 5 ADHD activation triggers + Why self-imposed deadlines often fail + Dopamine, norepinephrine & outside stimuli + The power of novelty for the ADHD brain + Gamification as a productivity tool + Habit stacking for entrepreneurs + Time blindness explained + "Now vs. not now" thinking + Finding your "right kind of difficult" + Self-compassion as an ADHD strategy Thank you, Steev! #955 If you've ever cleaned the kitchen instead of finishing that presentation, impulsively signed up for yet another software tool, or found it impossible to just sit still on a beach vacation — this episode is going to feel like it was made for you! In Part 1 of this two-part conversation, host Brien Gearin sits down with Steev Hodgson, certified life coach and founder of DOSE, to explore the unique ways ADHD shows up in the entrepreneurial mind. Steve shares his own late-in-life ADHD diagnosis, how it inspired him to build a pocket coaching app for the ADHD brain, and dives into some of the most common challenges entrepreneurs face — from procrastivity and impulsive decision-making to shiny object syndrome and the never-ending struggle with boring admin work. If you've ever wondered whether your restless, idea-jumping, novelty-seeking brain might be wired a little differently, this episode is a must-listen! What we discuss with Steev: + Getting an official ADHD diagnosis + What the DOSE app does + "Procrastivity" explained + Impulsivity & shiny object syndrome + The 10-minute rule for impulse control + Hire fast, fire slow tendencies + The SPARK decision-making methodology + Industries where ADHD thrives + Boredom is our kryptonite Thank you, Steev! Canada's Bill C-34 aims to restrict social media access for people under the age of 16. Supporters say it could help reduce rising rates of depression, anxiety and social isolation. Seriously. This week on Political Rehab, Matt Robison and Matt Wylie break down one of the strangest weeks of Trump's presidency as rising prices, a growing conflict with Iran, election conspiracy theories, media battles, and Trump's expanding sports empire all collide. The bigger question: is Trump betting against reality—and expecting voters to go along with it?In this episode:
Hello and Welcome to the DX Corner for your weekly Dose of DX. I'm Bill, AJ8B. For the rest of this year, I am going to pass along a bit of extra information when I let you know what will be on the air in the next seven days. So many hams have joined in the annual CQ Marathon contest that I thought I would help them out, as well as anyone else who is involved in the Marathon. The great thing about the Marathon is that it truly is a marathon and not a sprint. You can join at any time and get credit for all the QSOs you have accumulated in the calendar year. So, when I come across an activation that I would recommend that you get in the log to help your score, I will announce it by starting off with Marathon Alert! I know that this seems corny, but you will know that the information that follows indicates an entity that is more rare than usual DX. If you are not as experienced with DX or the Marathon, you may not know what is common and what is not. I hope this helps you get key entities into the log to help your CQ Marathon score. The following DX information comes from Bernie, W3UR, editor of the DailyDX, the WeeklyDX, and the How's DX column in QST. If you would like a free 2-week trial of the DailyDX, your only source of real-time DX information, just drop me a note at thedxmentor@gmail.com TF1OL, Ólafur, and his wife will be on Boa Vista Island, Cape Verde, from June 12 to June 23 for a 10-day stay. During this time, he will be active on FT8 and FT4 on 80 through 6 meters under the callsign D4OL. {Marathon Alert} CE0Y – Easter Island will be active from June 20–27. Manu, CE3YMR, will be active from Rapa Nui (Easter Island) under the callsign 3G0YM. 5H – Tanzania - A reminder, the NK8O (Charles) work trip to Chihoni, Tanzania, is planned to start today and continue to July 2. Working around his job assignments, he will be on the air as 5H3DX. He will be using 100 watts to a dipole, vertical, and long wire antenna, CW, FT8 and FT4, 40-6M. He will upload the log to LoTW and Club Log. {Marathon Alert} C2 – Nauru - Phil, C21TS, confirms he will depart Nauru on July 22. Meantime, he will be working “a lot of new ones.” He has been doing some Club Log livestream and Club Log log search. He says 99.9% of the time Club Log has real time updates. Heavy rain occasionally blocks his internet connection. Phil has now made 132,000 QSOs, 40,400 of those being uniques, 272 entities worked, 269 confirmed, saying “and I honestly thought 260 was going to be max for here.” He even worked 3Y0K, with 50 watts and homemade vertical. On 80 meters, a tuner problem is “making life difficult,” with SWR rising after five minutes of operating, so he will likely not be on 80 much more. He was hoping for five-band Worked All States but is still missing NH, NE and VT. Presumably he means on 80. PJ2 – Curacao -PJ2/PH2M, operator Frank, will be on the air until June 29, mainly FT8 and “some FT4 and SSB,” various bands. QSL using Club Log OQRS, or LoTW, or direct to his home QTH. FS – St. Martin – John, K9EL, will be active as FS/K9EL until June 24, focusing mainly on 6 meters while also operating on 80–10 meters. He'll upload logs to club Log in real time and to LoTW daily. He plans to answer all bureau cards, though bureau replies may take several months. His station includes an IC-7300MK2, Expert 1.3, an EFHW antenna for 80–10 meters, and a Yagi for 6 meters, located on a hill overlooking the Atlantic. {Marathon Alert} T8 – Palau - T88RR will be active until June 18 from Palau. The op plans to operate on 160, 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 12, 10, and 6 meters using FT8, FT4, SSB, and FM on 10 meters. The operator is JA6UBY, Yas. Logs will be uploaded to LoTW and eQSL. For a paper QSL, requests should be sent directly with SASE. He also says he will respond to bureau requests. If you have questions or need information, just drop me a note at thedxmentor@gmail.com

Andrew Huberman takes it. Peter Attia has been talking about it for years. Every serious longevity researcher has an opinion on it. And by age 40 to 60, your levels have already dropped by 50%. NAD+ is one of the most important molecules in your body. It powers energy production in every cell, repairs DNA damage every single day, and activates the cellular pathways that regulate aging, inflammation, and metabolic function. The biology is not hype. But the way most people are taking it right now almost guarantees it is doing nothing. And Dr. G is done watching people waste their money on the wrong molecule in the wrong form at the wrong dose. In this episode, you will learn: • Why you cannot raise your cellular NAD+ levels by swallowing NAD+ directly, what happens to the molecule in your digestive tract, and the precursors that actually work • The clinical research on NR vs NMN, which one has more published human trial data, which one the longevity research community is most excited about, and why sublingual delivery changes everything • Why the serving sizes on most NAD+ labels are set to make the price look reasonable rather than match the research, and what a therapeutic dose actually looks like Plus the specific brands Dr. G uses and trusts, and how to test your own intracellular NAD+ levels before and after to see if your stack is actually working. In this episode of The Executive Dose Podcast, host Stephen Beckman leads a timely discussion on how pharmaceutical manufacturers approach portfolio ideation, portfolio development, and strategic growth in today's increasingly complex healthcare environment. Stephen is joined by Joe Hendrickson, Head of Strategy and Corporate Development for Serovia, for a conversation focused on how manufacturers identify unmet market needs, evaluate product opportunities, prioritize development pathways, and make strategic decisions amid growing industry pressure. The discussion explores how pharmaceutical companies move from early-stage ideation to portfolio evaluation, development, commercialization, and lifecycle planning. As manufacturers face rising pricing pressure, market access barriers, regulatory expectations, competitive intensity, supply chain constraints, and evolving stakeholder demands, disciplined portfolio strategy has become more important than ever. Listeners will gain perspective on how manufacturers are navigating uncertainty, adapting their growth strategies, and building more resilient portfolio models designed to bring meaningful therapies and solutions to market. Film Festival Tickets: https://buytickets.at/thedopeyfoundation/2216905 Listen Without ads on patreon: www.pareon.com/dopeypodcast This week on the Wednesday Dose! The episode kicks off with a classic hippie Dopey email from listener MB, who recounts a spectacular Phish tour nitrous disaster. After days of ketamine, booze, overpriced cocaine, and lot balloons at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Colorado, MB face-plants into the dirt while clutching multiple nitrous balloons, destroys his glasses, spends a miserable flight home dry-heaving and hallucinating, and somehow survives a concussion-level experience. The story ends on a positive note with nearly ten months clean and sober and a request for dream guests Gibby Haynes and Jason Isbell. Dave then dives into Patreon and Spotify comments, including continuing fallout from the Dopey Sticker Contest. Selby files an official election challenge, claiming the contest was stolen and accusing Dave of failing to refresh Patreon before announcing a winner. Dave doubles down, insisting Felix Heads remains the champion despite accusations of voter suppression, corruption, and sticker fraud. Along the way listeners discuss ADHD, religion, Knicks fandom, kratom recovery, Long Island stories, and the eternal mystery of white crack dealers. The heart of the episode is an incredible interview with Michael Muniz, a 69-year-old Brooklyn native with 36 years sober. Michael tells a quintessential New York story that stretches from Brownsville gangs, schoolyard fights, and witnessing the neighborhood transformation of Brooklyn in the 1960s and 70s to marijuana, acid, cocaine, crack addiction, homelessness, Rikers Island, and ultimately recovery through Phoenix House. Michael shares stories about seeing his deceased father's face in the clouds during an LSD trip, discovering crack in the Cypress Projects and instantly becoming obsessed, losing everything while sleeping on subway trains and wandering New York's tunnels, robbing his mother, surviving violent encounters, and eventually finding his way into Phoenix House. What began as a plan to simply get clean long enough to save money and return to crack eventually became a lifelong recovery journey. The conversation explores therapeutic communities, recovery philosophy, family loyalty, homelessness during the crack epidemic, the culture of Brooklyn neighborhoods, Rikers Island in the 1980s, and the power of second chances. Michael also describes a dramatic courtroom moment where, facing serious federal charges, he convinced a judge to give him probation instead of prison after speaking honestly about recovery and wanting a different life. By the end, Michael reflects on his 36 years of sobriety, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, acting career, and belief that recovery is a lifelong process. Dave and Michael bond over drug dreams, gratitude, family, and the reality that while the desire to get high may never fully disappear, a meaningful life in recovery is infinitely better. The episode closes with Michael from the band Good Kid performing a live version of “Good So Bad,” All that and MORE MORE MORE on the Wednesday dose of that good old Dopey Show! Summer always sounds fun until your routine suddenly disappears. The kids are home more, weekends fill up fast, vacations happen, BBQs are on the calendar, pool days run long, and somehow your workouts, protein, steps, water, and goals start feeling like way too much to keep up with. And when life gets busy like that, it is so easy to think, "Well, I guess I'll just start over when things calm down." But I do not want summer to become the season where you feel like you are either doing everything perfectly or doing nothing at all. You do not need a perfect routine to keep taking care of yourself. You just need a simple baseline you can come back to when life feels full. In this episode of Embrace Your Real, I'm sharing the minimal effective dose for your workouts and nutrition when summer gets chaotic. I'll walk you through the few habits that matter most so you can keep showing up, maintain your strength, support your energy, and stay connected to your goals without turning your health into another full-time job. What's Discussed: Why summer is the perfect time to focus on a realistic baseline instead of chasing perfection How two dumbbell workouts a week can still help you stay strong when your schedule is packed Why protein should be your first focus when meals feel random or unpredictable Why 7,000 steps a day can be a more doable movement goal during busy seasons How to add more daily movement without turning everything into a formal workout Why hydration needs extra attention when heat, travel, and summer activities pick up If summer usually makes you feel like your goals are slipping away, this episode will help you find a better middle ground.
