Ever feel like your supplement cabinet is full but your energy is still empty? We take you behind the label to show exactly why some products change lives and others change nothing. With Emily from Orthomolecular, we unpack the real markers of quality—verified sourcing, GMP manufacturing, third-party testing, and forms your cells can actually use—so you stop guessing and start feeling a difference. We start with the fish oil you love to hate. If your softgels smell rancid, cause burps, or require a handful to hit a therapeutic dose, you're not imagining it. Source, processing, and form separate effective EPA/DHA from junk. Then we tackle magnesium: oxide and citrate may keep you regular, but chelated bisglycinate supports sleep, mood, heart rhythm, and muscle calm because it gets inside cells. We also talk about the digestion piece too many overlook—low stomach acid from stress or long-term PPIs can block absorption, turning even good formulas into expensive decorations. From there, we map the essentials most women need: vitamin D3 with K2 to protect bones and arteries, omega-3s to dial down inflammation, and an advanced multivitamin with activated B vitamins for energy, methylation, and hormone metabolism. On gut health, we share why a multi-strain, shelf-stable probiotic can be a smart daily “maintenance” choice, and how Saccharomyces boulardii acts like a cleanup crew for the GI tract, helping maintain barrier integrity and support immunity. If you're ready to simplify, we explain how to audit your cabinet, check forms and doses, toss expired or ineffective products, and consolidate into a lean, therapeutic stack that works. No hype—just practical steps, clear explanations, and products designed to meet label claims and clinical standards. Subscribe, share with a friend who's supplement-confused, and leave a review telling us the one change you're making this week.Shop supplements: Shop.fasttofaith.com use code PODCAST for a discount! Hello and Welcome to the DX Corner for yourweekly Dose of DX. I'm Bill, AJ8B.I mentioned previously that I would be addressing two issues, as I do at the beginning of each year. The first is my goals for 2026. We accomplished that last week. The second issue was to share those contests that I have participated in over the years. I have found them to be excellent opportunities to improve your skills, garner you some new band slots and potentially some ATNOS. The dates that I am referring to include the State QSO Parties, international DX contests, and regional DX contests. I have worked many normally difficult entities during contests and found it very easy (sometimes) to get them in the log. I have about 90 dates that I would suggest that you keep in mind. However, you don't need to write them down. I have created two items to make it easy for you. There is a list of dates andcontests in both .pdf and Excel format. Both files can be found at www.aj8b.com/files. Let me know if you have any questions. If you are somewhat skilled with Excel, you can create a CSV file from the Excel workbook and import it in to your personal calendar. The following DX information comes from Bernie, W3UR, editor of the DailyDX, the WeeklyDX, and the How's DX column in QST. If you would like a free 2-week trial of the DailyDX, your only source of real-time DX information, justdrop me a note at thedxmentor@gmail.comKP5/NP3VI, Desecheo Island, makes history - At its four-day mark, KP5/NP3VI has made over 10,000 QSOs on all continents. Their goal is to make over 100,000 QSOsduring their 30 days on the air. J5 - Guinea-Bissau - Bavarian Contest Club members will be operating J51A from Guinea-Bissau in February/March 2026. The location is on the island's northern shore with an unobstructed view over water, using generator power 24/7 due to lack of public electricity. Their main goal is to provide contacts from Guinea-Bissau, which is ranked as number 85 worldwide, and number 53 in Asia. QSL cards and LoTW confirmations will be managed through Club Log OQRS, and donations are welcome via Club Log.H4 - Solomon Islands - DL2GAC, Bernhard now in the Solomon Islands as H44MS until mid-May. He departed India last Wednesday, arriving in the Solomons' capital on Friday. He is renewing his H44MS license, which was scheduled to expire in early February. He will move to his "usual QTH" there tomorrow or Wednesday. He has taken with him a Hexbeam that covers 20-6, to replace his old tri-bander that covered 20-10. He says the weather is poor, lots of rain, no sunshine. He plans to mostly be on 40M this time, with a dipole 20M high in a palm tree near the ocean. V6 - Federated States of Micronesia - Yesterday afterarriving on Chuuk (OC-011), JA1XGI (Haru) reports his amplifier was likely damaged during airport transport. Nevertheless, he has been active as V6CU25, operating FT8 and CW on 160, 40, 30, 20, and 15 meters. S21WD – Bangladesh 2026: Project Update - The NextGeneration DX Club is pleased to announce a major milestone for its upcoming Bangladesh DXpedition: the callsign S21WD has been officially issued for the project. The DXpedition will be active for 12 days and operate on 160 through 10 meters, including 5 MHz (60 m), using CW, SSB, RTTY, and FT8. In addition, activity via the QO-100 satellite is planned using CW, SSB, and FT4. I mentioned that the KP5 DXpedition to Desecheo was racking up record numbers and they were working all continents. If you would like to learn more about this DXpedition, check out the DX Mentor podcast and YouTube channel. AJ8B and W8GEX had a great discussion with team leader, Otis, NP4G, about all aspects of the DesecheoDXpedition. Give it a listen and let me know what you think! Until next week, this is Bill, AJ8B saying 73 and thanks to my XYL Karen for her love and support. IHope to hear you in the pileups! Have a great DX week!

We have an update from the KP5 team - Desecheo DXpedition 2026 Update“Please be patient—this is only Day Two of a planned 30-day activation. This DXpedition represents a completely new operating concept designed specifically for environmentally sensitive, highly regulated, and restricted locations. As with any first-of-its-kind effort, refinements are ongoing. Our team leaders, along with electrical and software engineers, are actively fine-tuning operating schedules, band and mode selection, RF power levels, and overall system performance to optimize results as conditions evolve. Due to Desecheo's geographic location, North American stations are currently dominating propagation. That said, our operators have been explicitly instructed to listen for DX stations and to give them priority whenever possible in order to broaden log coverage. We ask for your patience as we work through the pileups and strive to put as many stations as possible into the log.A primary goal of this DXpedition is to deliver as many ATNOs as we can worldwide. We're stepping out of our Medicine on the Go series for a rapid-response episode on something hitting all of us hard right now: **influenza**. A lively debate among our colleagues sparked this conversation—especially around a newer flu antiviral, baloxavir (Xofluza). Who's using it? When does it make sense? How much does it cost patients? And how does it really compare to the longtime staple oseltamivir (Tamiflu)? The questions came fast, the opinions were strong, and we knew it was time to dig in. With flu season in full swing, this episode is all about practical decision-making at the bedside. Back to Basics: How Flu Antivirals Work To help break it all down, we welcome back our trusted ED pharmacist, Haley Burhans. We begin with a quick review of how influenza antivirals have evolved. , approved in 1999, was the first widely used antiviral and works by blocking the neuraminidase enzyme. Over time, concerns about resistance led to the development of newer options. That brings us to baloxavir (Xofluza), approved in 2018. Xofluza works differently by stopping viral replication earlier in the virus life cycle. While both medications aim to shorten illness and reduce complications, they differ in how they work, how they are dosed, and which patients benefit most. Who Should Get What—and When? Next, we focus on real-world ED decision-making. Who should receive Tamiflu, and who is a good candidate for Xofluza? We review use in children, pregnant patients, hospitalized patients with severe or worsening illness, immunocompromised patients, and those at higher risk due to conditions like asthma, lung disease, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, or older age. Timing is critical. Both medications work best when started within 48 hours of symptom onset. However, oseltamivir is still recommended even after that window for patients who are hospitalized or severely ill. We also discuss when antivirals can be used for post-exposure prpphylaxis. What Does the Evidence Say? We then take a closer look at the data behind antiviral treatment. Both Tamiflu and Xofluza shorten the time to symptom improvement. Observational studies suggest oseltamivir may reduce hospital length of stay and in-hospital death in adults and shorten hospital stays in children. Trial data also suggest baloxavir may be more effective against influenza B. We compare dosing strategies—five days of twice-daily Tamiflu versus a single-dose Xofluza—and review side effects and pediatric considerations. Real-World Barriers: Access and Cost Finally, we tackle the practical issues clinicians face every day. Tamiflu is widely available and familiar to most providers. Xofluza, on the other hand, often requires prior authorization and may be harder for patients to obtain. We discuss insurance barriers, out-of-pocket costs, manufacturer coupons, and situations where Xofluza may or may not be a realistic option. Take-Home Message This episode is a practical, evidence-based conversation designed to help emergency clinicians make confident decisions during flu season. Whether you're treating a high-risk patient, considering a single-dose option for uncomplicated flu, or simply trying to stay current, this discussion delivers clear, useful guidance you can use on your next shift! This week on Political Rehab, we break down one of the worst, most deranged stretches of the Trump presidency yet — and why even Republicans (like Wylie) are saying privately (and sometimes publicly) that the President is “screwing this up.”We kick things off with our weekly Trump Dump, where the big story is Trump threatening to invoke the Insurrection Act to deploy U.S. troops to Minneapolis in response to protests over his ICE crackdown. As Wylie puts it: masked ICE agents dragging U.S. citizens off the street and shooting Americans isn't “law and order” — it's a constitutional crisis. Then we hit:Trump's botched attempt to launch a criminal probe into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, which triggered global market panic, GOP backlash, and international condemnation.A wave of federal prosecutors resigning from the DOJ after being ordered to investigate…the victim of a police shooting and her widow.A jaw-dropping round of economic gaslighting (no, groceries are not cheaper) and administration messaging blunders. The latest foreign policy absurdity — including a bizarre conflict brewing over Greenland. The right-wing crackdown on dissent, from raiding journalists to subpoenaing the Clintons in the Epstein saga. And Trump's sudden interest in capping credit card rates at 10% — why it might save consumers money but also why it's pure political desperation theater. We wrap with Good Idea / Bad Idea, a brutal new That's Bullshit segment, and a surprisingly heartwarming Dose of Hope featuring Marco Rubio memes and China's favorite Trump impersonator. #PoliticalRehab #TrumpAdministration #ICE #EconomicGaslighting #InsurrectionAct00:00 Introduction and Opening Remarks00:45 Political Commentary and Satire01:21 Trump's Immigration Policies03:41 Insurrection Act and Federal Overreach05:52 Economic Gaslighting and Market Reactions13:26 Foreign Policy and International Relations18:23 Good Idea or Bad Idea?20:18 The Importance of Good People in Government21:19 Clintons Subpoenaed: Good Idea or Bad Idea?23:43 Trump's Ford Plant Incident24:39 Capping Credit Card Rates: Pros and Cons26:23 Tall Title Tales: Misuse of Titles27:40 Abolishing ICE: Strategic Trap or Necessary Action?29:24 Democrats' Optimism and Senate Recruitment30:54 Bullshit of the Week: Renee Nicole Goode's Case33:14 Dose of Hope: Marco Rubio Memes and More#PoliticalRehab #TrumpAdministration #ICE #EconomicGaslighting #InsurrectionAct

He reads glowing listener comments on the recent Sid Vicious/Ned Van Zandt heroin epic, plugs stickers for Spotify/iTunes reviews, and shares a powerful email from Sarah E. about her ongoing brutal struggle with 7-OH (7-hydroxymitragynine) dependence after accidents and kratom escalation, highlighting deception, severe withdrawals, and the "master of deception" label despite a strong sober community. The core is a raw, heartfelt interview with returning guest Erin Khar (author of Strung Out, unlicensed advice columnist), who opens up about her recent diagnosis of small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) / chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)—a slow-growing, incurable non-Hodgkin B-cell lymphoma discovered via routine mammogram/biopsy around Labor Day. Erin details the terrifying pathology call, symptoms (years of unexplained fatigue, anemia, frequent illnesses), watch-and-wait monitoring (no treatment yet until lymphocyte count rises), good-news/bad-news aspects (no chemo likely, keeps her hair, many live normal lifespans especially younger diagnoses like her at 52), and how curiosity over fear helps her cope. They explore parallels to addiction/recovery (one day at a time, sitting on hands during suicidal moments, grief + gratitude coexisting), family impact (kids' anxiety, protecting emotions), quality over quantity of life, and Erin's Substack reveal for connection. Ends with an Ask Erin advice segment, Johnny Thunders love ("Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory"), and Trinity's cover of "Wanna Be Good So Bad". ALL THAT AND MORE MORE MORE! On today's Executive Dose, host Stephen Beckman is joined by Representative Charity Grimm Krupa, who serves Pennsylvania's 51st District in the House of Representatives, for a timely and insightful discussion on the evolving healthcare policy landscape in the Commonwealth. Together, they explore recent legislative developments in Pennsylvania that are shaping healthcare delivery, access, and affordability, with a particular focus on how state-level decisions often serve as early indicators for broader national trends. Stephen and Representative Grimm Krupa also examine the ripple effects Pennsylvania healthcare policy can have beyond state borders, highlighting why pharmacists, healthcare leaders, and industry stakeholders across the country should be paying close attention. From regulatory considerations to workforce challenges and patient-centered care initiatives, this episode offers valuable perspective on the intersection of policy, leadership, and healthcare innovation—and what it could mean for the future of healthcare nationwide.

William Person is a former nine-year Team USA Bobsled athlete whose career left him battling the devastating effects of CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy). At his lowest point, he could barely get up off the floor, lost in confusion, depression, intense headaches, and a deteriorating brain. Hope came when he discovered Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, which restored clarity in his thinking, color to his vision, and purpose to his life. William shares his story to raise awareness of brain damage in sports, the military, and other lifetime collisions and share the importance of protecting and healing the brain. His mission is to open a nonprofit CTE Recovery Center to help athletes, veterans, and civilians heal from brain injuries -- at no cost to them. To realize this mission, he's launched a GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/93ff9c6e, which will help him raise funds to purchase a medical grade hyperbaric oxygen chamber to open a CTE Recovery Center where anyone battling CTE and brain injury symptoms can get free treatment. William's YouTube channel is at https://www.youtube.com/@BrainInjurySurvival. The State of Wisconsin's Dose of Reality campaign is at Dose of Reality: Opioids in Wisconsin. In today's episode, I'm joined by Steev Hodgson, certified ADHD coach and founder of DOSE, an app built to support how an ADHD brain actually works. We talk about why ADHD is so often misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or ignored, and how that confusion shows up in emotional regulation, executive function, and rejection sensitivity. Steev shares his own late diagnosis, how coaching thousands of clients sharpened his self awareness, and why real time tools matter when emotions spike. We also unpack RSD, practical techniques for regulating reactions, and how awareness can turn what feels like a weakness into a measurable advantage at work and at home.
