Several months after Kristen vanished, one of her co-workers, Joanna Sondheim, reached out to Private Investigator Tim Hames and told he she was flipping through old photographs at home one day and she came across one photo that has Kristen in the background. Kelly worked alongside Kristen at the Spinelli's Coffee Shop in downtown San Francisco. It was Kelly (He goes by 'Kel') who recommended to Matthew Luque to come and work at Spinelli's. Matthew did end up working at the coffee shop but not until a month or so after Kristen vanished. I contacted Kel in 2017. He did not agree to speak with my on the phone but he did agree to have me send him a list of questions and he would respond. Kel was good for his word, he responded a day or two later. Episode 10 is all about the 'Q&A" back and forth between Kel and myself.

Matthew Luque (Loo-Kay) dated Jill Lampo. Jill told me personally that she broke up with Matthew to start dating Jon Onuma. Luque went to work at the same coffee shop as Kristen but he did not start there until about a month AFTER Kristen vanished. Luque's close friend Kelley Strathman, however, did work side by side with Kristen. In the Bay Area of a population of over 5 million, you'd be irresponsible to not at least wonder if there is some type of significant connection that is not yet fully understood. Of all the Spinelli employees, only one person acted odd when questioned about Kristen - that was Matthew Luque. To this day - we still do not know 'why'. On the day that Kristen Modafferi vanished (June 23rd, 1997) , Jill Lampo was living with (and dating) person of interest 'Jon Onuma'. Fifteen years later, in June of 2012 - Jill confided with her uncle that while she was living in San Francisco, she was 'dating a controlling man who convinced her to assist in an unspeakable 'kidnap and murder'. Episode 8 takes. closer look at Jill Lampo. Note: Jill has been interviewed multiple times by Law Enforcement and she has never admitted to having anything to do with Kristen's disappearance nor has she ever been arrested for anything related to Kristen's disappearance.

Three people who I suspect (do not know for sure) who at the very least may know more about what happened to Kristen on June 23rd, 1997 them they are letting on are (1) Jon Onuma, (2) Jill Lampo and (3) Matthew Luque. Episode 7 shares with you 'why' I believe the way I do and I also address the question: did they know Kristen before she vanished.

In this episode I play for you a telephone conversation I had with Jon Onuma in July of 2020. He basically yells at me for a few minutes and then hangs up. Onuma is welcome on this podcast anytime he wants and he has my word that I play not edit the tape so he is fee to share his side of the story.

About 5 years after Kristin vanished, Onuma was located living in a million dollar seaside resort all alone in the town of Kaneohe, Hawaii. He was evicted from the property once his connection to America's most Wanted was discovered. About a month or so later, a briefcase belonging to Onuma was found hidden in the attic and the briefcase contained articles pertaining to the disappearance of Kristen Modafferi.

One of the first things Oakland PD did was to bring out the bloodhounds to search for Kristen's scent. They began at the Crocker Galleria Mall where she was last and the bloodhounds did hit on her scent about 7 miles away at Land's End Beach at the end of Geary Blvd. This episodes goes into that effort in detail and explains why it may not be all that it appears t be on the surface.

This week we begin out closer look into the details of Kristen's disappearance. We trace her last known footsteps and also go into detail about the May, 1998 airing of Kristen's case on 'America's Most Wanted'.

Kristen was 18 years old when she vanished in the Bay area from San Francisco. She was visiting the Bay Area between her Freshman and Sophomore years at NC State in Raleigh, NC after receiving a 4-Year Academic Scholarship. Arriving on June 1st, 1997, she vanished 23 days later on June 23rd. Our 'best guess' is that Kristen only met between 35-50 people in those first 23 days and that is important because the FBI says there is a 96.4% changes that when a woman meets with foul play, she somehow knows her assailant. Of course there is no guarantee that this will bear fruit in Kristen's case - but it sure gives us a place to start focusing on.

On June 23rd, 1997, just 3 weeks after Kristen Modafferi turned 18, she vanished after leaving work at Spinelli's Coffee located in the Crocker Galleria in downtown San Francisco. This podcast aims t do more than just inform you about her case - we see it as a 'too' to help actually 'FIND' her.
