With over a month and a half of (essentially) non-conference ACC men’s basketball under our belts who would have thought things would be looking up as much as they are? Special guest, Jason Carmello, the wizard behind Big-Underdog bracketology says there’s much to be happy with when it comes to the conference this season. ACC men’s basketball over the past few years has been less than stellar and pundits have been declaring an early death for the conference. Well, it appears that the slumber is over. Duke, Louisville, North Carolina and Virginia all hold spots in the latest Top 25’s. What might be even more telling is the teams that are getting attention and it’s a long list. Clemson, Cal, Notre Dame, Miami, SMU, Virginia Tech, NC State and if consistency jump into the mix then Wake Forest and Syracuse will be there, too. Basketball In Carmello’s first bracket of the season 8 ACC teams find a spot with four more just on the cusp. That’s simply the Phoenix rising. Yes, it’s an early projection but there’s far more stats to work with this season than in years past. All good signs. Griffin Warner and Lonte Smith talk CFB bowl betting for this week. The episode opens with Old Dominion versus South Florida in Orlando. South Florida is effectively playing a home game, with the campus located roughly ninety minutes away. The key storyline is Old Dominion missing its starting quarterback, which significantly impacts both the spread and the overall game outlook. Given USF's offensive upside with Byron Brown and the situational edge, South Florida minus two and a half is viewed as a strong position. There is also interest in the over, based on USF's ability to score and ODU's defensive limitations. Next, the conversation shifts to Memphis versus NC State in the Gasparilla Bowl. Both teams play at a fast tempo and rely heavily on explosive plays, while neither defense is considered reliable. The total of fifty eight and a half reflects this, and the over is the preferred angle. NC State receives a slight lean on the side, but that recommendation is contingent on starting quarterback CJ Bailey playing. If Bailey were to sit, bettors are advised to exit both side and total positions immediately, as the offensive profile would change significantly. The third matchup discussed is California versus Hawaii on New Year's Eve. This game carries multiple storylines, including Cal quarterback JKS returning to his home state. Hawaii is seen as highly motivated in a true home environment, with both teams expected to retain their starting quarterbacks and minimal impactful opt outs at the time of recording. With strong passing attacks on both sides and the ability to respond quickly to deficits, the over is the strongest play, with Hawaii also drawing interest as a pick'em at home. The final game covered is New Mexico versus Minnesota in the Rate Bowl in Phoenix. New Mexico enters off one of its strongest seasons in recent years and is viewed as the more motivated team. Minnesota, meanwhile, may be less engaged in a non-playoff bowl setting. Market behavior holding the line under a field goal is interpreted as respect for New Mexico, and the Lobos are identified as a live underdog with legitimate outright win potential. The official best bets from the episode are South Florida minus two and a half and Hawaii at pick'em. Following high school he played at NC State and would later transfer to Auburn University. While he went undrafted he would sign a summer league contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers and later a contract with the Dallas Mavericks. His career would span for over a decade in the NBA and across Europe. Adam has played across every level int he game from the NBA, G league, Collage, professionally around the world and winning titles he has done it all. Harrington following a stint selling medical devices would later transition into coaching and player development. He has worked extensively with top NBA players including Kevin Durant , Jimmy Butler, Duncan Robinson. Sabrina Ionescu, Ella Delle Donne, Fred Vanvleet, Ben Sheppard, Narasha Cloud to name a few. He has also held shooting and development roles with NBA franchises including the Brooklyn Nets and Oklahoma City Thunder. Working with players to refine mechanics, consistency, and build confidence. Adam also spent the inagural season season of Unrivalled, the Women's 3x3 League, as Head Coach for Team Phantom BC. Known for blending technical detail and with game-realistic training, Adam's approach focuses on footwork and balance in your shot. We broke down the details as much as we could on audio from your finger placement, to footwork, balance and drills. We also discussed his career, life as a coach, the reality of working in the NBA, his professional career and more. Adam is a fountain of knowledge and a gentleman. Saint Mary's vs. Boise St Profiles Saint Mary's at Boise St 6PM ET—Saint Mary's is 9-1 with coming off true road win at Davidsion by 9. Their loss came against Vanderbilt on a neutral court but were playing their third game in three nights in the Bahamas. Boise St is 7-3 dropping a home game against Hawaii Pacific and games on neutrals against USC as well as NC State. The Pick with the Explanation Game played in Idaho Falls. Boise St has struggled to shooting inside and they don't force many turnovers on defense. Saint Mary's is 19th in the nation in defensive efficiency behind strong rebounding, two points and three point defending. They hit 39% from three and 815 at the line.
