Brick Lombardi pulls a late-night chair up to the board and lets four songs do the talking. No filler, no rush — just the kind of set where the music reaches back and right now at the same time, and everything lands different depending on where you've been. - **Sun Still Shines** — A soul-soaked meditation on the 16-13 Monday night loss to the Panthers. The song isn't about the field goal; it's about the Packer fan who sat with that loss long enough to find some perspective, and came back around. That's the harder thing. - **Is This Love** — Built as a love song, aimed at a quarterback. Jordan Love, Year 4 starter, seven years in the league, and Green Bay has spent every one of them asking the same question. The song asks it too — except every time it says the word, it's saying both things at once. - **C.C.** — An unapologetic hype track for rookie corner Brandon C.C., 52nd overall, second round, South Carolina by way of NC State. Kid out of Sumter. 41-inch vertical. 20 years old. The board said 33 — Gutekunst got him at 52. That's not a reach, that's robbery. - **Before the Pads Go On** — A quiet one. A fan in the parking lot at six in the morning, reading the injury list out loud like a box score: Banks, Hargrave, Haddon, Brooks. Then his kid holds out a bike, a player nobody drove up to see takes it, says thanks — and the man quits counting. Catch Brick Lombardi on Tundra FM every night on the Packernet Podcast Network. Brick Lombardi settles in behind the boards with a full rookie class on deck and the energy is dialed up from the first beat. Four songs, four Packers, one unifying thread: Green Bay loaded up this offseason and the future is loud. From the fastest receiver in the entire draft to a reaper rehabbing his knee and promising to come back meaner, Tundra FM covers every angle. - **24 Carrot** — Matthew Golden, first-round WR from Texas (Houston) with a 4.29 forty — fastest receiver at the combine. The whole song leans into the speed and the golden name with every pun earned and spent. Cornerbacks running in heat stroke. Everything he touches turns to six. - **A.O.** — Savion Williams, third-round WR/chess piece from TCU. 6'4", 222 lbs, former high school quarterback with a 40-inch vertical. Built like a running back, wired like a weapon. Line him up anywhere — hand off, throw it, or watch him truck somebody. - **Escalade** — Anthony Belton, second-round OT from NC State. 336 pounds — the heaviest man on the roster — and smooth enough that his college strength coach named him on the spot. Raw at the edges, but anchored in the run game and keeping the QB upright while he learns. He don't bend. - **Terror of the Game** — Micah Parsons, the big trade, the edge rusher built to wreck quarterbacks. Tombstones for yard markers. End zones as graves. Rehabbing a torn knee right now, but aiming for mid-season. The reaper is coming back, and the defensive coordinator says he returns even better. Subscribe wherever you catch your podcasts and don't miss a spin on Tundra FM — the sound of the frozen tundra, playing nonstop. Go Pack Go. This episode is brought to you by PrizePicks! Alex and Richard conduct the second annual Coach Firing/Retirement/Departure Confidence Draft, assigning point values to 27 FBS coaches based on how likely they are to leave their jobs after the 2026 season, either because they got fired or retired. (Poachings are not included.) Last year, Alex scored a narrow victory thanks to his bold and successful pick of Kyle Whittingham to be out at Utah after the season. Can Richard fight back? The board runs in order of tenure, from Kirk Ferentz's 28th year at Iowa to Bill Belichick's second at North Carolina, and produces wide gaps on Joe Moorhead, Mike Norvell, Luke Fickell, and the exact meaning of a Lincoln Riley departure. In this college football podcast episode, we finish our three-part preview of the ACC by turning our attention to the defending conference champions and several of the league’s most difficult teams to project. Can Duke keep finding ways to win after another major quarterback change? Does Clemson have a real plan for getting back into the College Football Playoff conversation? And can Louisville once again rebuild its offense around a new transfer quarterback without losing ground near the top of the conference? We also dig into James Franklin’s full-scale reboot at Virginia Tech, Ty’s increasingly dangerous belief in NC State, and a pivotal season for Brent Key at Georgia Tech. With new quarterbacks, rebuilt offensive lines, coordinator changes and transfer portal additions everywhere, how much confidence should we place in recognizable coaches and favorable schedules? Plus, we examine why Cal could become one of the most entertaining teams in college football, whether Syracuse can recover with Steve Angeli back under center, and what Bill O’Brien can realistically build at Boston College. Elsewhere, Dan experiments with performance-enhancing inhalers, Ty launches Bros for Brohm, the Calgorithm gains strength, and we issue another annual warning about hiring Ted Roof. Devin unpacks the research behind why that happens and what we can do instead. We talk about:flexible decoding strategies, when and how to teach syllables and morphemes, and what “set for variability” really looks like in the classroom (spoiler: it's not guessing!).You'll walk away with practical, research-backed ideas to help your students read longer words with confidence.Devin M. To ensure the project's success, Chloe attended classes to earn her own official radio certification, providing her community with a reliable way to call for help and coordinate mutual aid when power grids and cell towers fail. More from Chloe: I am a Freshman at AC Reynolds HS of Asheville. I have been a Girl Scout since kindergarten in GSCP2P. I successfully completed my Girl Scout Gold Award by developing "Communication Disaster Packs" with an action plan to assist my local fire stations and churches through any future natural disaster. During the course of my project I also became licensed by the FCC for Amateur and GMRS radio communications. I am currently ranked 3rd in NC State for Marksmanship through the American Legion and JROTC and CMP programs in the sporter class. I also raise chickens and placed 3rd at the WNC State Fair in 2025. Last, I am a 3 time Youth Fishing Champion for Biltmore Estate. After HS graduation in 2029 I hope to earn my Bachelors in Criminal Justice and Forensic Anthropology with a minor in Psychology then pursue a career as a Crime Scene Investigator. Tuffy Talk Live finally returns after getting pushed back a night by a brutal storm that knocked out power lines across the Triangle and apparently took Ethan's AC down with it for good measure. Layton, Greg, and Ethan pick up right where they left off, and there's a lot to get to.It starts with Duke Scott. NC State just handed him the No. 1 jersey, the most prestigious number in the program, and the crew breaks down why it matters that he's the first offensive player to wear it since Stephen Louis back in 2018. Greg calls it a leadership distinction more than a production promise, though nobody on the show is shy about saying they expect a monster role for Scott regardless. From there, the conversation shifts to the number everyone's been asking about, NC State's win total, which opened at 6.5 with heavy juice on the over before eventually settling at 7.5. Greg makes the case for the over, Ethan plays the skeptic, and the group lands on an interesting historical parallel: last year's UNC team carried the exact same 7.5 win total and the exact same "this is a bet on the schedule, not the roster" framing — and it blew up spectacularly. Ethan isn't ready to call NC State the next UNC, but he's not dismissing the comparison either. Then Ethan's Stat Pack digs into a problem that's been quietly building for two years, NC State baseball's home run production has cratered, dropping from a real power threat just a few seasons ago to near the bottom of the ACC. Ethan and Greg trade guesses on just how far the power numbers fell, and the answer surprises both of them. The show also debuts a brand new segment — Pack Pro of the Week — kicking things off with honorable mentions for Garrett Pennington's promotion to Double-A and Saniya Rivers hitting 500 career points in the WNBA, before handing the main honor to Trent Hidlay for locking up his second straight U.S. Senior World Team berth, beating fellow Wolfpack legend Michael Macchiavello to do it.Tweet of the Week brings two of the biggest stories in all of college sports, the NCAA's new five-year, no-exceptions eligibility model that's about to eliminate redshirting as a concept entirely, and NC State basketball quietly buying out of its scheduled home-and-home with VCU, a decision that has Greg more frustrated than almost anything else discussed on the show. The crew closes out debating the best home environments in college football, with a Carter-Finley shoutout from an unlikely source, before Rod Brind'Amour's NC State hat strikes again, this time getting called out directly by the NC State baseball Twitter account.Tuffy Talk is NC State's home for sports talk, hot takes, and everything Wolfpack. Since 2008 he's been bringing that experience into the classroom at NC State's Master of Accounting Program. That unusual vantage point gives him a clear-eyed read on the talent pipeline debate: On Episode 274 of The Unique CPA, he pushes back on some of the doom-and-gloom narrative, pointing to graduate school applications up 72% nationally last year, and credits much of NC State's own steady enrollment to actively recruiting career-changers, including a Broadway makeup artist and a PhD violinist who found their way to accounting in search of stability. Host Terrell Turner also covers with Scott what firms get wrong when they recruit on campus and the limits of internships as a proxy for real work. They also look at why AI in accounting education is less about replacing fundamentals than about rethinking how those fundamentals get taught, and who's ultimately responsible when the technology gets it wrong.
