Just a quickie life update episode today. If you follow me on social media, some of you may already know that I recently got my results for the Access course I had been doing and how I have exceeded my expectations. I try to put into words why this means so much more than just attaining my diploma and earning my place at university. Also, why for the first time in my life I actually feel comfortable giving myself a shout out.

Stop waiting for inspiration to take action.

Don't wait for inspiration to take action for it is in the action that you will find your inspiration!!! Crazy that by just starting this podcast I am learning so much about myself and how I really need to start treating myself with compassion. I am always trying to get this podcast perfect for you and as a result, I end up stifling my creativity. This podcast is raw and at times a little messy, but this is my journey and I hope that you come along for the ride with me. Music: Upbeat Party by Scott Holmes

Why it's so important to remember to choose yourself and ask for help when you need it - Thriver Series

So, turns out I'm pretty good at giving advice but not so hot on taking it on board. I have been so focused on making sure everyone else is okay and keeping the house running smoothly that I had forgotten to check-in and devote some attention to myself. Asking others for help and taking time out for you is not selfish, it's a necessity. Listen in to hear how I had a stark reminder of this recently. As always I would love if you could leave me a review either on the platform you're listening on or on my Facebook page. And if any of what I talk about strikes a chord with you, feel free to reach out on any of my social media channels or email me at sarah@flouriscious.com.

Probably the most common question asked of a victim of abuse is, "Why don't they just leave?" Quite often, we're just as baffled as you are, but after leaving my last abusive relationship I began to look deeper into that question. I will attempt to answer this question, not just for family and friends, but also the victim themselves. Why? Because I believe knowledge is power, and I want you to feel empowered to do what is right for YOU in YOUR situation. In this episode, I am going to talk about Love bombing, a technique that abusers use to manipulate their victims, and explain the process of trauma bonding, which makes it so difficult to leave. Finally, I will share a few tips to help you recover from abuse or how you can best support your loved one who is involved in an abusive relationship.
