. We are very happy to announce that Red House Rising Season Five is now in pre-production. We're excited about the story it tells, and we hope to have it out to you sometime in the Fall of 2026. Meanwhile our new rock'n'roll murder mystery, The Phantom of Ocean Park, has just hit the podcast airwaves. In 1968, Ocean Park in Santa Monica was one of those quintessential places at the epicenter of "Somethin' happenin' here", to quote Stephen Stills. Ocean Park, Venice, by the water, it was Haight-Ashbury, with a beach. All peace and love, until Santa Monica City and its developers imposed eminent domain and bulldozed the beach neighborhoods, devastating families and bankrupting P-O-P, our beloved amusement park, so they could tear down the pier and start throwing up high-rises from Pico to Venice. But that summer of '68, they had a big problem. The Cheetah, Ocean Park's world-renowned rock'n'roll club, was still on the pier and wildly popular, with bands like Creedence packing the house nightly… Then the murders started. The Phantom of Ocean Park, a full cast rock'n'roll murder mystery, wherever you listen to podcasts.
Greetings, fans of My Russian Clementine. We are excited to tell you about our rock'n'roll murder mysteries. Like My Russian Clementine, they're full cast audio dramas. The Bonds of Affection takes place in 1978 in Santa Monica. And we've just released a kind of prequel to it called The Phantom of Ocean Park. Boys of Dungeon Lane, McCartney's collaboration with producer Andrew Watt, arrived when McCartney was 83 and and he came out swinging: the opening track greets listeners with a dissonant, unresolved guitar chord that sets the album's tone. Harmonic instability runs through the entire record: chromatic mediants, deceptive cadences, and persistent pedal tones prevent even the most nostalgic songs from settling into comfort. The album's lyrics focus on McCartney's pre-Beatles Liverpool youth, territory unfamiliar even to long-time fans. The songs pay deliberate sonic tribute to specific Beatles recordings: Mellotron strings echoing "Strawberry Fields Forever," a backwards laugh tape loop answering "Tomorrow Never Knows," a first-ever McCartney/Starr vocal duet so close in timbre the two voices are nearly indistinguishable. In this bonus episode, Selene welcomes longtime friend, cyclist, and women's sports powerhouse Kate Veronneau to the show for a preview of the first-ever FeistyFest in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. For Kate, the location is personal: The Valley Preferred Cycling Center is where she first fell in love with bike racing, found her cycling community, and eventually launched a career in the sport. She shares how a casual Friday night trip to watch track racing turned into an entry-level “try the track” class, a relocation to the Lehigh Valley, and years immersed in one of the most magical cycling communities around.Selene and Kate talk about what makes the Lehigh Valley so special: quiet roads, covered bridges, gravel before gravel was “gravel,” beautiful trails, and a deep community of people who love to ride, run, explore, and support one another. They also dig into what attendees can expect at FeistyFest: track riding, gravel, trail running, lifting, swimming, pickleball, community, laughter, and the kind of grown-up summer camp energy that reminds women how good it feels to try new things.Kate also shares why women-only spaces can be so powerful, especially when women feel safe, supported, and encouraged to step outside their comfort zones. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or brand new to an activity, there is something magical that happens when women come together, lift each other up, and give each other permission to live a little bigger.Learn more and register for FeistyFest

Jamie Dodd and Thomas Drance react to another quiet day on the Canucks' head coaching front while digging into Iain MacIntyre's latest piece featuring Henrik Sedin and the organization's apparent philosophical shift toward patience and long-term team building. The guys debate whether this front office and ownership group are truly committed to a different process after years of chasing short-term fixes, and why the upcoming draft, player development, and potential veteran trades will ultimately determine whether this rebuild succeeds. Plus, the Whiteboard dives into Vegas returning to the Stanley Cup Final, trade speculation surrounding Jake DeBrusk, Elias Pettersson and Filip Hronek, and whether Vancouver should seriously explore moving Hronek for a top-five draft pick. Are you brilliant at your job — but starting to wonder if this is really it? One of the most common and least-talked-about challenges facing senior women in tech is the moment when something needs to change, but you don't know exactly what, and the fear of getting it wrong is keeping you exactly where you are. This is not a "how to find a new job" episode. It is an episode about how to think clearly and strategically about career pivots — before you make a reactive decision you spend the next two years recovering from. Whether you're bored and feeling guilty about it, you know you need to leave but can't see where to go, or you're ready to pivot but don't know where to start — this episode is for you. Keep listening to learn more about: Why the restlessness you're feeling is not a character flaw — it's a signal worth taking seriously The four types of "something needs to change" — and why getting the diagnosis right is what separates a strategic pivot from a reactive one The full range of options available to you — including internal pivots, functional moves, smaller organisations, fractional leadership, and entrepreneurship A five-step framework for thinking through a career pivot strategically without making a decision from your most exhausted place What's really underneath the fear — and why the identity question is the thing that keeps most women stuck What a good career pivot actually looks like — and the one first step to take this week Whether you're actively planning a change or just starting to sit with the question, this episode will help you think more clearly about what you actually want next.

Carl Trueman joins Mere Fidelity to discuss his book The Desecration of Man: How the Rejection of God Degrades Our Humanity. They examine why "desecration" captures something "disenchantment" misses — the frenzied, ecstatic violation of what is still recognized as sacred — and trace its implications for abortion, gender, technology, and end-of-life ethics. Trueman argues the church's answer is consecration: creed, worship, and a code of hospitality that restores genuine personhood. If you're a working mom who's ever thought “Who am I to be doing this?” while juggling kids, clients, and a never-ending to-do list, this episode is for you. Whether you're building a business, navigating a career shift, or trying to take up space in rooms that weren't designed with moms in mind, you are not alone and you are not behind. In this episode of the Working Moms of San Antonio Podcast, we sit down with Dr. Brandi Scott, career coach and consultant, for an honest and deeply relatable conversation about imposter syndrome, self-doubt, and learning how to advocate for yourself even when it feels uncomfortable. Brandi shares her journey from being a first-generation college student to earning her PhD, and why imposter syndrome doesn't disappear with degrees, titles, or experience. Instead, it shows up anytime we try something new. Together, we unpack why women especially struggle to talk about their accomplishments, negotiate pay, apply for opportunities, and confidently say “this is what I bring to the table.” We talk about how imposter syndrome affects working moms, mompreneurs, and women in leadership, and why learning to let that doubt sit quietly in the background instead of running the show can be life-changing. This conversation is full of real talk, practical reframes, and moments that will make you feel seen, validated, and encouraged to keep going anyway. Because confidence isn't about never feeling doubt. It's about showing up even when that doubt is still there. ✨ If you've ever downplayed your wins ✨ If you struggle to talk about what you do without apologizing ✨ If you're building something meaningful while raising a family ✨ If you're a San Antonio mom craving community, clarity, and confidence This episode is your reminder: You shine. I tried something new.For a long time, I've talked about starting a YouTube channel where I get back on court and test myself against players better than me. The reality is, I never really had the time to do it properly. Now I've finally started. In this first video, I take on one of Ireland's best players, Sinead Lohan, to see how I stack up and to explore the level difference. This is the first of many, and I'm still figuring out the format, so I'd really appreciate your feedback. You can watch the full video here
Ok so we are trying to record from home on this new app, so be patient with us as we work through all the errors lol. Thank you
Sometimes God trims things back in our lives, and it can feel like loss. But He's not taking away without purpose… He's making room for something new to grow.

The fastest way to kill a dream is to keep it private. How about trying something new as an adult? Laura shares what it's like to finally write the book she's talked about for years, and Claire breaks down the psychology of fear, embarrassment, and that sneaky belief that you should already be good at something before you start. If you're sitting on a dream, a business idea, a Substack, a new sport, or a small creative habit, we end with a practical challenge: say it out loud to a trusted person and take one step. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs a push, and leave a review so more people can find us.

The latest of our RE-HEATED series, where we re-issue episodes that might share something with racing stories in the news… Episode 223 featuring Jim Michaelian. One of the pioneers behind the Grand Prix of Long Beach, Jim unfortunately passed on Saturday, March 21, but we were fortunate to spend an extended amount of time with him in 2021 in our “Building Long Beach” video and podcast series. One of the key members since Year One, Jim Michaelian went from a kid with an MBA helping out in finance, to the current President and CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach. From boots on the ground at the beginning, to steering the ship today, Jim is uniquely qualified to know both the history of the event and the challenges that face the Grand Prix today. This is of course a complimentary episode to our “Dinner with Racers” video series on MotorTrend's YouTube, where you can see the story unfold in a two-part special. Dinner was served via pizza we ordered into the Grand Prix offices in Long Beach, CA, with the song “Something New” by Castle Heist taking us out. Thanks again to Continental Tire and Acura for making it all happen.
