Listeners of Koala Crimes: An Australian True Crime Podcast that love the show mention: samantha,In August of 2007, mother of two, Corryn Rayney, disappeared after a boot scooting class one winter's evening. One week later her car was found abandoned. An oil leak coming from her vehicle led police right to her grave. Shortly after her body was discovered, her husband, Lloyd Rayney, was named the 'prime and only suspect', but it would be three years before he was arrested. In 2012 what was labelled the 'trial of the decade' began. Lloyd Rayney would be found not guilty. The Rayney case became one of the most controversial and talked-about cases to ever happen in Perth, Western Australia. To date, no one has been held accountable for Corryn's murder. In 2006 in Perth, Western Australia, 16-year-old Stacey Mitchell was murdered by two teenage girls because they found her "annoying". The killers, a couple, proceeded to film the murder, and kiss over her body to symbolise their love and loyalty to one another. Their bizarre actions earned them the nickname in the media 'the kiss killers'. If you are a Perth local, you may have also heard this case being referred to as 'the lesbian vampire killers' or the 'wheelie bin murder'. Today, I want to look past the sensationalistic headlines and focus on the young girl that lost her life in what was a senseless and sadistic crime... On November 10, 1998, Lisa Jane Brown vanished off the streets of Perth, Western Australia, never to be seen again. Lisa was just 19 years old, and a mother of two young children- a two and a four-year-old. She had her whole life ahead of her... Unfortunately, today's missing person case is one of those stories where not a shred of evidence was left behind, although there has been speculation over the years that Lisa was a victim of the Claremont serial killer. Join me as I discuss another Australian true crime story- and for those coming from my YouTube channel, today's episode is an exclusive for the podcast and will only be uploaded here!
