Uros Medic just got made. On Saturday, the UFC made its debut in Serbia with UFC Belgrade, headlined by a top 15 welterweight showdown between Medic and Daniel Rodriguez. And in just 30 seconds, Medic sparked out Rodriguez, sending the crowd into an uproar and announcing himself as a bona fide star. Following Saturday's big event at Belgrade Arena, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and Jed Meshew react to Medic's star-making performance over Rodriguez. Additionally, Mike and Jed discuss Navajo Stirling's knockout win over Jan Blachowicz and what it means for the light heavyweight division, chat about the record-breaking number of finishes on the card, dive into PFL New York and the MVP merger, answer viewer questions, and much more. "When I take on a task, I do it with my whole heart," Elena Rodriguez on how she's traveled through her entire life, but specifically, on starting Alumbra Cellars (Alumbra means "to shine"). Elena's story is right out of a good book that you just can't put down. Her story is one of hard work, tenacity, immigrant grit, and the idea of taking on a job with your whole heart and finding out you really love it. Woven throughout - it's a story of family, celebrating family and the hard work put in, and passed down to each generation. Elena talks about the journey her father took, a farmer through and through, season after season, looking for work before finally settling in the Pacific Northwest. He wasn't a wine drinker, but he had a vision in the vines and a dream to plant grapes. While this interview is somewhat focused on Alumbra Cellars and how it came to be... at the heart is the family that made it happen.

SCHEDULE  JOHN BATCHELOR SHOW, 7-27-26Headline: Signaling Peace Amidst Conflict: The US and Iran Standstill Guest: Ambassador Hussein Haqqani and Bill Roggio Summary: John Batchelor discusses the current tensions between Iran and the United States following a sudden halt in American bombing. Ambassador Haqqani explains that both nations are seeking a diplomatic "off-ramp," though they face severe internal political constraints that prevent either a ground invasion or a total surrender. Bill Roggio adds that while secret talks are likely, reports of depleted US munitions might be influencing the decision to pause military action.Headline: The Threat of Escalation in the Caspian Theater Guest: Ambassador Hussein Haqqani and Bill RoggioSummary: This segment examines the potential for unconventional warfare escalation across Eurasia and the specific risks within the Caspian theater. Haqqani warns that Iran's ability to hold the global economy hostage through the Red Sea and Hormuz Strait creates a complex dilemma for the US. Bill Roggio concurs that limited aerial bombardment is insufficient for regime change and notes that neighboring countries like Kuwait remain hesitant to directly engage for fear of retaliation.Headline: Somalia's Unverifiable Victories: The Death of a Shabaab Founder Guest: Caleb Weiss and Bill RoggioSummary: Somali officials claim the death of Maalim Ibrahim, a co-founder of al-Shabaab and a key military planner who held many executive hats. However, guest Caleb Weiss cautions that such claims often lack third-party verification and may be false. The US is currently threatening to cut funding for the UN mission in Somalia due to a perceived lack of progress against the group and pervasive internal political corruption.Headline: Houthi Blockades and the Siege of Saudi Energy Ports Guest: Bridget Turner and Bill Roggio Summary: Houthi rebels have initiated a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabian ports, causing ship traffic through the Bab el-Mandeb strait to fall to its lowest level in months. While the Houthis cite local grievances, their actions align with Iran's broader strategy to pressure global energy markets. Despite the threat, Saudi Arabia has retaliated by bombing Houthi ports, even as the rebels receive targeting assistance from Iranian spy ships.Headline: High Stakes Diplomacy: Netanyahu's Visit and the Iranian Threat Guest: Malcolm Hoenlein and Thaddeus McCotter Summary: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu travels to Washington to meet with President Trump and attend the funeral of the late Senator Graham. The agenda focuses heavily on Iran's continued aggression, including reports of the "Pickaxe Mountain" facility containing thousands of centrifuges deep underground. Malcolm Hoenlein notes that despite the diplomatic pause, Iran continues to execute young dissidents and sponsor assassination plots in Israel and the United Kingdom.Headline: The Lebanese Pilot Zones: A Fragile Experiment in Peace Guest: Malcolm Hoenlein and Thaddeus McCotterSummary: Lebanon is attempting to establish humanitarian pilot zones where the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) replace withdrawing Israeli troops. Critics argue this model mirrors the failed Gaza disengagement, as Hezbollah remains entrenched and unwilling to disarm. Additionally, Hoenlein discusses a recent Ukrainian attack on an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea, which signals a dangerous expansion of the regional conflict that may have broader retaliatory implications for the future.Headline: Hezbollah's Surveillance and the Ineffectiveness of the LAF Guest: David Daoud and Bill Roggio Summary: The IDF recently shot down an unarmed Hezbollah drone gathering intelligence over strategic ridges in southern Lebanon. David Daoud highlights that Hezbollah continues to operate freely despite the presence of the Lebanese Armed Forces in pilot zones. The segment questions why Western leaders trust the Lebanese government, given its failure to demand nationwide disarmament and its history of coordinating with Hezbollah to hide military infrastructure from international monitors.FILE 8: Not provided in the sources.Headline: Brazil's Transnational Politics: Lula vs. the Conservative Alliance Guest: Ernesto Araújo and Alejandro Peña Esclusa Summary: President Lula da Silva of Brazil has shifted toward an anti-American stance, aligning himself with "criminal socialism" and the São Paulo Forum. Former Foreign Minister Araújo describes a growing transnational alliance between Donald Trump, Javier Milei, and Flavio Bolsonaro to counter communist penetration in Latin America. The upcoming Brazilian election is seen as a critical battleground for the future of economic freedom and regional stability against organized crime.Headline: The Venezuelan Transition and the Shield of the Americas Guest: Ernesto Araújo and Alejandro Peña EsclusaSummary: Acting Venezuelan President Delcy Rodriguez has received unexpected praise from President Trump, causing concern among opposition members who view her as a gangster. Alejandro Peña Esclusa argues that Rodriguez is a repressive figure and suggests a reconstruction government of experts instead. Meanwhile, Brazil's Flavio Bolsonaro seeks to join the "Shield of the Americas" to combat regional criminal gangs and support a democratic transition in Venezuela.FILE 11: Not provided in the sources.Headline: Iran's Drone Test: Challenging the US Strategic Pause Guest: Edmund Fitton-Brown and Bill RoggioSummary: Following a US suspension of airstrikes, Iran launched drone attacks against Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Iraq to test the Trump administration's resolve. Edmund Fitton-Brown explains that Iran aims to prove it decides when pauses occur, not the US. The segment warns that without consistent US pressure, Iran could establish a "regional protection racket," leaving Arab states to seek separate accommodations with the bully on the block.Headline: Starship Test 13: Success and Challenges in Reusability Guest: Doug Messier Summary: SpaceX's Starship Test 13 achieved a controlled landing of the spacecraft in the Indian Ocean, though the Super Heavy booster exploded during its Gulf landing. Doug Messier explains that while the mission successfully deployed Starlink satellites, the FAA remains concerned about future overland flights. The ultimate goal is full reusability for NASA's upcoming lunar missions and upgrading the capacity of the Starlink network for laser communications.Headline: Decapitating Hamas: Targeted Strikes in Gaza Guest: Samuel Benner and Bill Roggio Summary: The IDF has conducted targeted strikes against Hamas's internal security commanders, including the head of the police force in central Gaza. Samuel Benner reports that while the upper military echelon has been largely eliminated, Israel is now targeting those responsible for imposing rule on Gazans. Despite these strikes, Hamas continues to control food distribution, effectively using humanitarian aid as a "piggy bank" for the organization.Headline: The Iran War: A Strategy Stuck in Stalemate Guest: Jonathan Schanzer and Bill Roggio Summary: After twelve days of intense US bombing, there is confusion regarding the long-term plan for achieving behavior change in Tehran. Jonathan Schanzer argues that the regime remains ideologically committed to power and is unlikely to offer concessions for money alone. Furthermore, Iran's capability to launch ballistic missiles remains significant, and the IRGC has not yet felt the impression that a total regime collapse is imminent.Headline: The AI Bubble: China's Strategic Intellectual Property Theft Guest: Brandon Ward and Gordon ChangSummary: China is allegedly using stolen American intellectual property to train its artificial intelligence models, such as Moonshot's Kimmy K3. Brandon Ward suggests this is a strategic move to collapse the inflated market value of the American AI sector. Gordon Chang warns that despite export bans, Chinese firms continue to acquire high-end Nvidia chips, complicating US strategic plans and economic dominance while threatening a potential future shooting war.

Lenna Rodriguez on Army Service, SkillBridge, and Finding a New Mission In this episode of Oscar Mike Radio, I sit down with Lenna Rodriguez, a retired U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 3, to talk about her remarkable journey of military service, transition, and continued advocacy for the veteran community. From Utah to a 20-Year Army Career Lenna shares how she overcame a challenging upbringing in Utah and went on to build a diverse 20-year Army career. Her service included roles in supply, civil affairs, military intelligence, and the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID). Her journey demonstrates how military service can create opportunities for growth, leadership, and purpose while preparing service members for challenges they may never have anticipated. Using DoD SkillBridge to Transition from Military Service Eventually, every service member faces a major question: What comes next when you take off the uniform? Lenna and I discuss how she approached that transition and used the Department of Defense SkillBridge program to help bridge the gap between military and civilian life. Through SkillBridge, Lenna was able to prepare for her next chapter and ultimately begin a new career as a talent acquisition strategist. Her experience highlights the importance of preparing for military transition before the final day of service and using the resources available to veterans and transitioning service members. Advocating for Women Veterans Retirement didn’t end Lenna’s commitment to serving others. She shares her work with Final Salute Inc., supporting women veterans experiencing housing crises and helping ensure their service and needs are not overlooked. We also discuss her participation in Miss Veteran America and how the program helps bring greater awareness to the challenges facing women veterans. Lenna’s advocacy demonstrates that taking off the uniform doesn’t mean giving up the mission. Connecting Veterans with Resources and Support We also talk about Lenna’s involvement with America’s Warrior Partnership and efforts to connect veterans with resources, community, and support. Our conversation touches on the critical importance of veteran suicide prevention and reaching veterans before they find themselves facing a crisis alone. Lenna’s story is about much more than a successful 20-year Army career. SCHEDULE JOHN BATCHELOR SHOW, 7-15-261904 PERSIAMichael Bernstam discusses China's "colonial" economic relationship with Russia, demanding natural gas at heavily subsidized domestic rates. Capitalizing on Russian weakness, Beijing insists Russia fund its own pipelines while China signals a shift toward supporting Ukrainian territorial integrity, effectively throwing Putin "under the bus" to pressure the West. (1)Michael Bernstam explores Houthi threats to the Bab-el-Mandeb strait, which could drive oil prices over $100 per barrel by choking global shipping. Simultaneously, Ukrainian drone strikes have crippled Russian refining capacity and shipping in the Black Sea, leading to energy rationing, electricity shortages, and potential food crises in Crimea. (2)Bob Zimmerman provides updates on SpaceX's Starship test flight and the FAA's rapid approval process. He details the deployment of version three Starlink satellites, rumors of a massive new Louisiana spaceport, and criticizes a Texaspolitician's "irrational" investigation into Elon Musk's government grants for rural internet access. (3)Bob Zimmerman explains why AI is currently inadequate for counting lunar craters, failing to meet human accuracy standards. He also highlights the discovery of a potential black hole in Omega Centauri, discusses the desolate nature of Mars's Jezero Crater, and notes the mysterious, unexplained "spokes" appearing in Saturn's rings. (4)Steve Yates analyzes the Taiwan People's Party's (TPP) historic visit to mainland China. Originally a pro-identity youth movement, the TPP is now seeking political power through a coalition with the pro-China KMT. This shift complicates Taiwan's political landscape, as the younger demographic overwhelmingly identifies as Taiwanese, not Chinese. (5)Cleo Paskal exposes Chinese cognitive warfare in the Solomon Islands, where identical pro-Beijing propaganda appeared in separate newspapers. She details China's aggressive pressure on Palau, utilizing economic threats, triad activity, and cyberattacks to force the nation to de-recognize Taiwan before an upcoming regional forum in late August. (6)Charles Burton discusses the strained Canada-US relations regarding the Gordie Howe Bridge. Disagreements over ownership and revenue sharing led Donald Trump to claim a "victory" by coercing Canadian concessions. This dispute has fueled hostility in Canada, leading to a boycott of US travel and alcohol imports in Ontario. (7)Charles Burton criticizes the lack of transparency regarding Chinese infiltration in the Canadian government. He argues that Prime Minister Carney's administration prioritizes business interests over national sovereignty, ignoring warnings about espionage and transnational repression while pursuing empty promises of doubled trade from Beijing to counter US tariffs. (8)Evan Ellis reports on the collapse of Cuba's electric grid, marking the third major blackout in nine days. While the island devolves into ruin, the Trump administration weighs military action against potential negotiations with the Castrofamily, as China and Russia provide only minimal, symbolic economic and political support. (9)Evan Ellis details the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela following twin earthquakes. While US Southern Commandprovides tactical aid, the corrupt and inefficient Rodriguez government is unable to respond to massive destruction, including thousands of deaths and ruined infrastructure. The situation highlights the inadequacy of the current Venezuelan regime. (10)Evan Ellis examines political instability in Bolivia involving Evo Morales and the upcoming inauguration of Keiko Fujimori in Peru. He also notes unresolved tensions over the Falkland Islands as Argentina faces Britain in the World Cup, emphasizing Javier Milei's strategic shift toward collaboration with the United States. (11)Evan Ellis analyzes judicial cruelty in Brazil, where Flavio Bolsonaro is barred from visiting his ill father. In El Salvador, President Bukele is seeking an unconstitutional third term. Despite his high approval ratings and security successes, the move raises alarms about the global trend of abandoning democratic constraints. (12)Thaddeus McCotter reflects on the death of Senator Lindsey Graham and the rising global pattern of political violence, including the murder of a UK MP. He also addresses credible Iranian threats to assassinate the US President, suggesting that decapitation strikes against heads of state have become routine. (13)Thaddeus McCotter connects global energy prices to military strategy, noting how Ukrainian drone strikes on Russianrefineries impact domestic affordability. He warns that the Republican party must clarify objectives in Iran and Ukraineto address MAGA base concerns regarding "forever wars" before the upcoming midterm elections. (14)Judy Dempsey discusses the US naval blockade of Iran and European concerns over energy security. She argues that European leaders find Trump's policies unpredictable and emphasizes that the future must be built on transparency, democracy, and accountability to counter the rise of authoritarian models like communist China. (15)Judy Dempsey highlights increasing threats against European politicians, particularly in Germany from the far-right AfD. Despite the current prominence of "strong men," she maintains that authoritarian systems are unsustainable because the human spirit fundamentally requires freedom, which dictatorships cannot provide or permit in the long term. SCHEDULE OF THE JOHN BATCHELOR SHOW, 7-1--2026.1804 GREENWICHRick Fisher discusses China's Tiangong space station, which is set to double in size by 2030 and host international partners. He highlights dual-use military concerns and potential plans for a lunar toll booth at the L2 Lagrange point to control access to the moon. (1)Jim Fanell explains China's "salami slicing" tactics in the maritime domain, using law enforcement vessels to claim sovereign jurisdiction over waters east of Taiwan. He recommends the U.S. counter these moves by sending an aircraft carrier strike group through the Taiwan Strait to assert international law. (2)Steve Yates analyzes China's Ethnic Unity Law, which codifies ethnonationalism and criminalizes the denial of Chinese identity even for those outside the PRC. The law targets Taiwanese identity and may lead to the extradition of critics, reflecting the CCP's focus on total ideological control. (3)Gordon Chang and Steve Yates discuss the alarm in Beijing after a small aircraft crashed into the CITIC Tower, highlighting vulnerabilities in China's air defenses near the leadership compound. The incident shattered the narrative of an impervious security state, raising fears that drones could easily strike the capital. (4)Bob Zimmerman discusses Rocket Lab's acquisition of Iridium for $8 billion, signaling a trend toward vertical integration. He also covers Blue Origin's investigation into a launchpad explosion and SpaceX's Star Mind data constellation, emphasizing the importance of corporate transparency and risk-taking in the space industry. (5)Bob Zimmerman reports that NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman is streamlining the Artemis program by focusing on a lunar base and leveraging private sector contracts for landers and infrastructure. Meanwhile, the Boeing Starlinerprogram is likely dead following poor performance and the Inspector General's recommendation to halt further funding. (6)Bob Zimmerman examines new spaceports in Sweden, Oman, and Australia, noting geographical and financial challenges. He criticizes India's ISRO for a lack of transparency regarding delays in the Gaganyaan manned mission and undisclosed rocket failures, warning that such secrecy breeds public distrust. (7)Bob Zimmerman reports research showing weightlessness harms reproduction in mice, suggesting humans will need artificial gravity for long-term missions. On Mars, Curiosity discovered unique polygon ridges, possibly indicating ancient water. Additionally, New Horizons confirmed the solar wind slows at the solar system's edge. (8)Professor Evan Ellis discusses the two massive earthquakes that struck Venezuela, causing widespread destruction due to corrupt building practices and neglected infrastructure. The U.S. military has deployed 900 personnel for relief as the illegitimate Rodriguez government struggles to provide an effective humanitarian response to the mounting tragedy. (9)Professor Evan Ellis analyzes the challenges facing President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella, who must reverse fiscal mismanagement while navigating a divided Congress. His administration plans a hardline stance against illegal armed groups like the ELN and FARC to restore state authority and encourage foreign investment in the mining and oil sectors. (10)Professor Evan Ellis reports that Keiko Fujimori is the declared victor in Peru's election, promising a pro-security, pro-U.S. agenda despite continued economic ties with China. Meanwhile, Bolivia remains unstable as President Rodrigo Paznavigates an economic crisis, currency devaluation, and ongoing pressure from former leader Evo Morales. (11)Professor Evan Ellis discusses the U.S. decision not to renew the USMCA, maintaining leverage over Mexico regarding security and immigration. In Argentina, a cabinet resignation due to corruption investigations highlights vulnerabilities for President Milei's administration despite his successful macroeconomic turnarounds and libertarian policies that have improved the country's financial standing. (12)Simon Constable reports on the breaking of a severe European heat wave and shifting commodity prices, with Brentcrude seeing a significant drop. In the UK, Andy Burnham is positioned as a potential new Prime Minister, though there are calls for a general election. (13)Michael Bernstam reports that Ukrainian drone strikes have taken 28% of Russian oil refineries out of commission, causing widespread fuel shortages and forcing Russia to import gasoline. Vladimir Putin admitted the situation is "difficult" as Crimea faces crises in fuel, food, and water due to severed supply routes. (14)Anne Stevenson-Yang describes the collapse of China's real estate market, where half-empty apartment towers in ghost cities now offer cheap rent to young workers. Municipalities are burdened with massive debt from failed development projects, and building maintenance is deteriorating as developers walk away. (15)Justin Leopold Cohen discusses the trilateral framework between Israel, Lebanon, and the U.S. that aims to disarm Hezbollah, though the group has rejected the terms. Despite reduced Iranian power, Hezbollah remains a heavily armed proxy, maintaining extensive tunnel networks and continuing clashes with the IDF along the border. (16)Each file is now a single paragraph, John — headlines and guest lines fully folded in, numbering intact at the tail. Let me know if anything needs another pass.
