The idea that gave Life Expo its first breath was to have talents from all pursuits that are passionate about what they do to sit with me on this podcast and understand their purpose, see what drives them, hear the humble beginnings and give them the opportunity to share their story with the world. Inspiration drives the world and through these individuals I want others to be inspired and reach for the passions that drive them. This platform was created to be an open floor for conversations about a variety of different topics or sometimes just to sit down and have a few laughs with some friends. So enjoy your fair share of conversations whether or not you’re here to find inspiring stories or to learn something new to improve the substance of your life as I, your host Rafeen take you through the journey of Life Expo.
I'm sure by now you all have figured that inconsistency is just something that comes with this podcast lol BUT WE MOVE.I didn't really have anything specific to talk about this episode however I did want to get a few things off my chest. In this episode, I go over topics like dealing with this lockdown that we are currently under again. A rough reflection on what 2020 has been like for us and the truth behind New Year's resolutions, how to get them properly and more. I also want to give a warm thank you to all for all the support you guys have been giving me and thanks to all those listening all around the world (5 counties to be exact). So tune in and enjoy the show!
In today's episode, I talk about the lessons of life that I have learned through my year of practicing martial arts. There is a lot more to it than the majority of people think. I always looked at martial arts as a mimic of what life is. You often face similar adversities in both worlds and the lessons you learn in martial arts are the same lessons I use daily in my own life. Yes, martial arts is great as a form of physical activity and great for self-defence but it's a lot deeper than just that. It teaches people the value of healthy competition and why sometimes failing is good for you. Both in life and martial arts you are bound to fail at one point or another and martial arts show you how to turn that failure into a lesson. It shows you to see people from a different perspective and instead of looking down on those below you, you become eye levelled to them. I talk about a lot more than just this and probably by far my best episode yet. I hope you all enjoy!
Episode 13 out now on all platforms!⠀⠀In this episode, I talk about a topic that I deal with every day and something I truly believe a lot of people can also relate to. Which is ADHD. ⠀⠀In our generation, we see ADHD as a disability amongst people and assuming they are incapable of certain things. People think those who have this are dumber or have lower IQ than the average human. However, that alone is one of many misconceptions of what ADHD is. In this episode, I talk about the common traits of ADHD and help you truly understand what it is.⠀⠀However, the main theme of this episode is knowing how you can use it to your advantage and make your “super-power.” I can’t promise you’ll be swinging through buildings like Spiderman once you’ve listened but you’ll have a better understanding of how you can really use it to your advantage. ⠀⠀I want to emphasize that ADHD is not a disability. It’s just a different ability. ⠀
What is going on ya'll?!It's been some time since I put out an episode and I'm excited to be back with a BANG! In this episode of the podcast, we will be talking about the toxic parts of social media and the big impact that it has on us and especially millennials. Social media and the internet is something we are all addicted to but the underlying effects of it are something I believe people should be aware of. I try my best in this episode to talk about as many effects of it as I can and share some of my experiences with it as well. I truly do believe this episode will be relatable yet helpful to a lot of people so I highly recommend you take a listen and share this as well. Enjoy!
Welcome back to the show guys! In today's episode, we will be talking about one of the most toxic things to come out of this generation. No, we aren't talking about that ex-girlfriend that keeps trying to ruin your life or that ex-boyfriend that keeps trying to come back into just when things are going right. We will be talking about Cancel Culture. Cancel culture seems to be one of those things where I believe it honestly started with a good intention but like all good things in this society, we seemed to have overplayed it and twisted it around a bit. I believe that cancel culture has no boundaries and rules which makes this so complicated. There are no criteria for which someone has to meet in order for them to get cancelled. Nowadays, everyone can get cancelled. you can get cancelled for something you may not have meant, or for something you may have said as a silly joke to seem cool 10 years ago. Given cancel culture has no rules, it gives the wrong people the right reason to cancel people who shouldn't be cancelled. I'm talking about the people who just want to watch the world burn for fun.So tune in and hear me rant on cancel culture and share my two cents.
What's popping peeps?!The episode we are coming back with today is a very special one to me because a lot of the things I talk about in this episode I speak from my heart and genuine experience. Today we are talking about pursuing goals that your parents generally won't approve of. This is something that is a big problem I see happening with a lot of millennials in our generation. It is a problem that we see take place social in the coloured community. Millennials are forced to go into a field of occupation that our parents have set for us which doesn't give us an opportunity to pick and decide what we want for our own lives and what would make us happy. When we do find something that we love and want to pursue, it usually becomes a problem especially if it goes against what our parents want. In this episode talk about exactly that. I first talk about why parents sometimes force us to do to a specific field and how their minds may work. I talk about my personal experiences with this topic and what advice I can give any of you that are dealing with this same situation. I believe this episode can help a lot of people so please if you do listen to this, share with a friend or someone that needs to hear this. I would really appreciate it! Enjoy guys!
With summer in the air, one thing that is on a lot of people's minds is losing that stubborn fat for a look on a beach day. So I thought it was only appropriate to make an episode on a diet I was on that helped me lose some good weight not too long ago. This episode I talk about the famous keto diet. I went on a 30-day challenge with a good friend of mine back in February to see who loses the most weight and the diet I chose was the keto diet which essentially means zero to no carbs per day. I talk about how the diet made me feel in general, the food I had to eat, the good, the bad and what I would do differently. A lot of good information in this episode so I hope you listen and share it with your friends. Saying mans are on a two-week streak? Two weeks with consistent podcasts out every week? I feel like a new man lol. This episode can somewhat be called a Part-2 to the last episode I did which was "Human Consciousness & Water" so if you're reading this and you haven't listened to the previous episode, GO LISTEN TO IT NOW!In the last episode, we talked about the effects of negative thoughts/words has on water. Knowing that we are made up of 70% water, we then discussed how constant negative thoughts and negative self-talk can shape our reality. This episode we talk about WHY we are kind of wired to think negatively. Why it's so easy and where it comes from. After understanding this addiction (which I believe is an addiction), I tell you guys some tips that I personally favour and ones that science has also backed up. I believe that this episode can bring some great value to a lot of you and hope what you guys get something out of it. Let me know what points stick with you guys most I would love to hear them! Welcome back guys how are y'all doing!?This episode is a pretty cool one not gonna lie. A while back I stumbled across this experiment that was done by a Japanese scientist named Masaru Emoto where he would say something positive like "I love you" to one glass of water then say something negative like "I hate you" to another glass of water. Then he would freeze those glasses overnight and observe them under a microscope the next day to see if the words you say have an effect on the crystals it forms. To say the least, his discoveries were fascinating! He saw that the glass that had positive things said to it, formed beautiful crystals. Whereas the glass that had negative things said to it, didn't form any crystals at all and did look so pleasing either. He did the same experiment with names of people, music and even with prayers and the results were the same. Now it made me think, our body is made up of 70% water. So when we say negative things to ourselves or have negative thoughts, what kind of effects does it have in our body? Also, can this experiment prove how the Law of Attraction works? In this episode, I discuss that and share my 2 cents on that! Also if you are listening you may have noticed that I finally have an intro! Huge shoutout to Pasoon for making that happen! To say the least, this episode is going to be a little different than what I usually do. If you guys have listened to my first intro episode, you know that I talked about how sometimes I will make episodes where I breakdown fights, review past events and make predictions on future events. I LOVE TALKING ABOUT FIGHTS so I figured why not just talk about them on my podcast. So if you're reading this and expecting this episode to be about what I usually talk about on this podcast, it's not.Today I will be going over this past UFC PPV 250. This card was honestly a bantamweight showcase. The bantamweight division has honestly never had such traction as it has right now in a LOOOONG time. With Suga Sean delivering a spectacular knockout, Algo with a quick shocking submission and Cody No Love with a possible knockout of the year win, this card was so fun to watch and talk about. I had a really good time breaking these fights down and I really look forward to doing more of these! For the few of you listening to this podcast and share the same interest as I do, I LOVE YOU! If you also follow UFC and know whats going on, HMU and I would love to have you on!
What's up you freak WE ARE BACK!I am sorry I have been really busy for the past 2 weeks I didn't get time to record. However, no more episode droughts and I will be recording double time from now on!This episode I'm going to be talking about why I dropped out of university. I briefly mentioned this in my last so I figured I make a whole episode talking about what led me to make this decision. I go over things like what influenced me to drop out, what I learned, my perspective on school, and the hardships I had to face afterwards. By no means did I make this episode to influence others to drop out as well! the point of this episode is to share my story and share some tips with those who are contemplating whether they should or not. This episode itself is personal to me but I really hope this brings some value to you all. Thank you all for the support always, much love to you all!Follow Life Expo's Instagram account to always stay updated on the latest episodes: https://www.instagram.com/lifexpo/Subscribe to our Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQfoieGErvZn0tSfp59hj_Q
So last week I let you guys ask me whatever questions you guys had for me on my Instagram so I can answer them in the next episode and here it is!I honestly had so much fun answering these questions. I appreciate each and every one of you that asked me questions and I hope I was able to give the answer that you guys were expecting. These were so much fun and I will definitely be doing them again! WHATS UP YA'LL?!I hope you're all doing good and are healthy! In today's episode, I'm going to be talking about depression but most importantly quarantine depression. The reason I decided to make this episode is that I have been seeing noticing some people having a hard time trying to cope with this lockdown. even some people I know personally are having a hard time and if I'm being real, me too. So I thought it's a good idea to make an episode around the topic to help you guys out. The list of things I go over is why you may feel depressed, what causes it and what you can do to deal with it. The tips I share in this episode are ones I personally apply to my daily life when I feel down and I hope it helps you guys too. The key thing I want you guys to take away from this episode is that you are not alone and tips I give can help everyone as long as they stay committed to them. Much love to you all, peace!
In today's topic, I will be discussing why the first step is always the hardest why that is. I will go over some personal experiences I've had myself and things I did that helped me make that first step. We all have ideas that we want to bring to fruition but for some reason, you've never been able to get into it. Maybe you've gone as far as starting it but never finished it. I know that feeling and I have been there countless amount of times. The fear of the unknown is something common amongst all of us. Starting that business or Youtube channel that you've had in mind for months maybe even years now is scary because you don't know what to expect from it. Maybe you're a perfectionist or think that your work isn't good enough. These are just a few of many different factors into why you're still not starting! Here in this episode, I will go over a few simple tips that have personally helped get over that first step and get the ball rolling. For those listening recently after the episode has been out and have an idea in mind, understand that there is no better time to start than now. Quarantine has got most of you bored and you've got a handful of time that you don't know what to do with it. Start on that IDEA! I really hope this helps you guys in some way and this episode brings some value to you. Also, don't hesitate to tell me all about that idea you got, shoot me a message on Instagram I would love to hear all about it.Much love to you all and thanks for supporting as always!Subscribe to Life Expo's Youtube channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQfoieGErvZn0tSfp59hj_QFollow us on Instagram to stay updated - https://www.instagram.com/lifexpo/
Honestly, I tried sitting in a room by myself and interview myself but it really did not go the way I had planned. So I brought in someone special (Adeela) to help me make this episode possible and share a few things about myself. In today's episode, I will be focusing on introducing myself and explaining my motivation behind making this podcast. Talk about the process of this podcast coming together and go more in-depth into answering questions like the idea behind the name "Life Expo", people that inspired me to do this, and some possible future guests. With the Coronavirus that's been going around, sadly it might be a while till I can come out with another episode :( However, I'm using this time wisely to brainstorm some topics I can discuss in future episodes! If you guys have any recommendations of topics or people you'd like me to interview, feel free to DM me on the Life Expo Instagram page (link below) and I will try my best to get to it. Much love!Follow Life Expo on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/lifexpo/Subscribe to Life Expo's Youtube page - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQfoieGErvZn0tSfp59hj_Q
What's popping everyone yall?! Happy to say I can consider this being my first actual full-length episode with a topic to talk about! However, the topic itself was not something I had planned to talk about as my first episode but for the time being, it seemed very necessary and appropriate. I will be talking about the coronavirus and going over things like what it is, where it came from, how it spread, how to prevent it and who it most effects. For those in the medical field, WARNING your heads may heat up and explode from all the wrong terms I may be using. So before you come for my head, please be aware that by no means am I a professional and I failed grade 10 biology which will show in this episode. All the information I go over I've gotten from research.Later in the episode, I talk about this group that I came across that help those who can't get supplies and groceries during these scary times. They are called the Good Neighbour Project and you can find them on Facebook. If you wish to volunteer just send them a request to be accepted into the group where you'll receive posts and updates on where you can help out! I'll leave a link to the group down below!Originally this episode was going to be more about introducing myself and my motivations behind doing this podcast but I will have to push that episode for a later day because I really wanted to get this one out for everyone to hear! I highly appreciate all your love and support it means to world to me. It only encourages me to go ahead and make more of these! Thank you all so very much. Enjoy and please don't eat bats :)https://www.facebook.com/groups/GoodNeighbourProject/?epa=SEARCH_BOX
WHAT?! It's finally here. Life Expo is officially alive and here for you. I am super excited to bring you my work with the hopes to inspire and improve the substance of your life. To keep this simple I'm not considering this as my first official episode, treat it more like a table of contents. To keep things short and sweet, in this intro, I simply go over what this podcast is going to be about and what you're expected to hear in the upcoming episodes. Next episode I'll go more in depth about how this podcast came to life and more about myself so stay tuned for more and well sanitize!
