In this episode, I'm joined by the incredible Natalie Rose from Natalie Rose Bridal. You might know her iconic “Pink Palace” boutique on Parnell Road, Auckland, or have seen some of her gorgeous brides featured in past episodes. Natalie is known for her beautifully structured gowns, honest advice, and the unforgettable experience she creates for every bride who walks through her door. This was a special one- my first-ever in-person podcast recording, right in Natalie's boutique. We dive into her journey from a childhood filled with pride in her mum's dressmaking skills, to a career in finance, and then making the bold (and chaotic) leap to open her own bridal shop during the middle of a pandemic. We chat about:

The message was delivered on Sunday, July 27th, 2025, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister. DESCRIPTION: What if the greatest wisdom about love came from children? When 4 to 8-year-olds were asked "What does love mean?" their answers revealed profound truths that adults often miss. From a grandfather painting his arthritic wife's toenails to a little boy who simply sat and helped his grieving neighbor cry, these stories illuminate love's true nature. But here's the deeper question: Are you truly listening to where love is leading your life? This message explores how love becomes our most reliable compass through life's toughest decisions - from family conflicts to impossible choices. What happens when we make love our lens for every situation? Through the touching story of "Chicken Farmer, I Love You" painted on a small town rock, discover how authentic love persists even when circumstances change, people move away, or others try to paint over it. The message that appeared years later - "Chicken Farmer, I Still Love You" - reveals something eternal about love's nature. Why do some people carry deep regrets while others find peace in their choices? The answer might surprise you. When facing your most difficult decisions, there's one question that cuts through confusion and brings clarity: What would love have you do? Will choosing love always guarantee the outcome you want? What happens when love demands sacrifice, patience, or forgiveness? How can we live with "indiscriminate love" in a world full of conflict and pain? Singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne doesn't do a ton of press, so we were thrilled to get some time with him to discuss his latest tour and the 20th anniversary reissue of his album Trouble. First released in 2005, Trouble peaked at No. 164 on the Billboard 200. His next album, Till the Sun Turns Black, went to No. 28. His next three albums all reached No. 3: Gossip in the Grain from 2008, God Willin' and the Creek Don't Rise from 2010, and Supernova from 2014. Ray got one track into Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart, “You Are the Best Right,” in 2008. The song was featured in the film I Love You, Man. Ray's ninth and latest album, Long Way Home, was released in 2024. Long Way Home was released independently (through Thirty Tigers, a Nashville-based distributor) after eight previous albums through RCA Records. The lead single, the R&B-soaked “Step Into Your Power,” topped Billboard's Adult Alternative Airplay chart in August 2024. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Do you think we are more divided now than ever? Are you tired of conflicts? Do you want to try to get along with others better? Lisa continues the conversation today with our guest James Twyman. James is known as a “Peace Troubadour” as he has united millions of people around the world with his music and messages of peace. He knows that there IS a way to get along. If we can give up the need to be right, we can listen and learn from one another. James is attempting to start a movement to further the idea of communication and peace. He talks about taking a very short survey on www.de-polarize.com. Can we be humorous with one another? Laughter also heals and brings people together. The biggest issue is that we don't listen to one another. Love can bring us together, and that's not about being “right.” James and Lisa also talk about safety in a conversation and how to navigate, knowing you may get verbally attacked. When we don't honor one another's opinions, and get into arguments, it may not feel safe. Yet, we are on the precipice of a wonderful opportunity. We can all become de-polarizing agents by finding ways to creatively communicate. James offers tools and will be teaching classes about peaceful ways to communicate and listen to one another. It's part of his movement toward peace. It starts with being open and mindful. If we create an open space for dialogue, and listen with love and compassion, others will as well. James also shares his experiences in Iraq and with Saddam Hussein. He held a peace concert and found people coming together in music. He discovered that they had much more in common and could heal their differences. People around the world were also meditating for peace and miracles occurred. If this can happen in war-torn circumstances, we can learn how to be peaceful toward people with differing beliefs. James is an Episcopal Franciscan and Anglican priest. His latest book is “I Don't Know, Maybe, I Love You: How to De-Polarize Your Family, Business, Country and the World.” This is Part 2 of the interview. Lately, I've been sitting with what it means when your love & medicine isn't received. When the fullness of who you are can't be held by someone else and how that has nothing to do with your worth.⠀In this episode, I open the door to the messy middle:The return of old wounds. The paradox of loving people who've hurt you.The spiral of healing that brings you back to the same place... only to love it deeper this time.⠀I talk about what happens when we create from alignment versus force, how your energy imprints itself into your creations, and why detaching from the outcome might be the most powerful thing you can do.⠀This is for anyone who's ever felt like their love landed on deaf ears. For the ones who are still learning how to hold their own heart when someone else can't.For the creators, the feelers, the ones healing in real time.⠀It's your time to WAKE UP.Thank you for walking this one with me.I See You. For the past few years, I've been living in the space between what was and what's still becoming. A liminal place where the old no longer fits, and the new hasn't quite fully landed. ⠀ In this episode, I reflect on what it means to be in the middle. The discomfort. The clarity. The surrender. The knowledge I've been integrating into wisdom in my body. Awareness that goes from stuff I "know" to a way I "AM".Let's talk about the real magic of why you're in this space, and what to do with it.This is a sacred invitation to meet yourself right here, right Now because NOW is where your next chapter begins. ⠀ If you're also in your in-between era, unsure of what's coming but feeling it rise within you—this one's for you. ⠀ It's your time to WAKE UP.Thank you for Being Here with me!I See You, I Honor You, & I Love You!*ੈ✩‧₊˚༺☆༻*ੈ✩‧₊˚

Do you find yourself with opposing viewpoints and arguing with your family, friends, or neighbors? Do people seem more hostile? Are you tired of all of the division in this world? Is it possible to “agree to disagree”? According to today's guest James Twyman, there IS a way to get along. James is known as a “Peace Troubadour” as he has united millions of people around the world with his music and messages of peace. His latest book is “I Don't Know, Maybe, I Love You: How to De-Polarize Your Family, Business, Country and the World.” The title came about when he was arguing with his brother on the phone during Covid. At a particularly heated moment, James said to his brother, “I don't know. Maybe. I love you, brother.” He realized this could be a way to de-escalate the disagreement. James talks about attending an international Peace Conference held by the Pope in which many different religious leaders were invited to express their own prayers of peace from their faith. James then turned each of the prayers into songs. He explains that there is a magic when you combine prayers with music. He's written 24 books and numerous songs and albums for the past several decades. He talks about the “pandemic of being right” and how difficult it is to communicate. It seems so challenging to “talk to the other side,” but if we go into compassion and love, it becomes possible. We cannot allow differing opinions to separate us. If we can just listen to one another, maybe we can come to an understanding. We are here to love one another. We can let go of the addiction to being right. He also talks about the teachings of Saint Francis, as he himself is an Episcopal Franciscan and Anglican priest. During the time of Saint Francis, it was also highly divisive. Saint Francis talked about how the real message of Christ is to love one another. He learned from the Islamic religious leaders and brought that back to Italy. We don't have to make people wrong just because their beliefs and opinions are different from ours. We can be genuinely curious and listen to one another. He asks us to consider the possibility that we can actually learn from one another. We have a choice and can be kind to each other. We can always find things that we agree upon. This is Part 1 of the interview. Info: www.worldpeacepulse.com and www.de-polarize.com
EVERYTHING'S GOING TO BE GREAT in Theaters now!Director Jon S BairdWriter Steven RogersThe Smart family's life takes a dramatic turn when tragedy forces them to confront their oversized dreams, struggles with identity and chaotic regional theater life. As theater manager parents (Allison Janney and Bryan Cranston) work to support their two sons — a hunky football star (Jack Champion) and his flamboyant, theater-loving younger brother (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) — unexpected circumstances compel them to move in with Janney's estranged brother (Chris Cooper). What begins as a temporary arrangement soon unravels years of familial tension, prompting each member to reevaluate their place in the world and in their relationships.Director Jon S. Baird orchestrates this warmly observant comedy-drama with a perfect balance of sharp humor and poignant family dynamics. The powerhouse cast delivers nuanced performances, with Janney and Cranston demonstrating once again why they are among the most versatile actors working today. Their chemistry grounds the film's journey through artistic ambition and life's unexpected detours, while Cooper adds layers of complexity as the long-estranged brother. Beyond its headline-grabbing ensemble, the film's tender exploration of how families navigate change and disappointment resonates with authenticity as these deeply human characters stumble toward reconciliation and renewal in this stirring celebration of life's messy beauty.—Jarod NeeceDirector Jon S.
