Outrage isn't new, but the way it plays out in 2025 feels like a full-time industry. This week, it's Phillies fans brawling over a foul ball, a CEO swiping a signed hat at the US Open, Bruce Willis' family facing judgment in a Diane Sawyer interview, and American Eagle cashing in on controversy with its headline-grabbing campaign. Here's the problem: every headline slaps the same word on these stories—backlash. But backlash and blowback aren't the same thing. If you don't know the difference, you're missing the real story. In this episode, I break down:The Phillies “Ball Snatch” dad who turned a viral mess into a lesson in staying calm. The US Open “Hat Grab” CEO who folded fast—and why it saved his business.Bruce Willis' family's media strategy, turning online judgment into strategic storytelling.American Eagle's outrage marketing proves that some brands script backlash into their budget. Why the age of the public apology is over—and what leaders are doing instead. The September takeaway? Backlash reveals character. Blowback reveals strategy. And knowing which one you're seeing could be the difference between chaos and control.Want More Behind the Breakdown? What if suppressing your voice was destroying your mental health? Dr. Phil and Dr. Chloe reveal why free speech may be the key to healing America. Dr. Phil sits down with clinical psychologist and bestselling author Dr. Chloe to explore how speech suppression, cancel culture, and emotional constipation are quietly fueling anxiety, depression, and division in America. Dr. Chloe's new book, Can I Say That? Why Free Speech Matters and How to Use It Fearlessly, argues that free expression isn't just a political issue, it's a mental health necessity. Are you truly satisfied, or always chasing more? This week we sit down with author Bobby Jamieson to talk about his book Everything Is Never Enough and the wisdom of Ecclesiastes. We'll unpack why your spouse can't be your joy, your job can't be your purpose, and your family can't give ultimate meaning. Real joy comes only from God; the giver, sustainer, and comforter. Anything else leaves us empty. Our hope is this conversation points you back to the only source who satisfies. Episode Highlights: We are searching the world for a satisfaction that only comes from Him. It's a crushing weight to expect our spouse to meet needs that only the Lord can meet. Desiring happiness and trying to create it will never work. A life of ease doesn't equal a life of joy. Marriage is a gift to be nurtured. It's daily decisions to care for, to provide for, to invest in your marriage. Quotes from Today's Episode: Happiness is a byproduct. If you just try to chase happiness directly, you're not really gonna get it. The world leaves us wanting. That eternity in our hearts is ultimately a longing for God. Only He can satisfy. Only He can fill our hearts. We are often tempted to seek that total good from our spouse. If you bring that expectation to your husband or wife, you will crush them. A lot of the joy of marriage arises as your laboring, as your communicating, as your toiling together. If you view all of life as a gift of God then you can give up that need for control. Marriage a whole lot of daily little kindnesses. Couples' Conversation Guide: When's the last time you thanked God for your spouse? Where do you find it difficult to enjoy your “lot”? When you consider your spouse, do you consider the fact they are a “gift” from the Lord? What's one way you can serve your spouse today? Mentioned in this Episode: You need a copy of Everything is Never Enough: Ecclesiastes' Surprising Path to Resilient Happiness Find Awesome Marriage on Instagram Want an opportunity to dig into God's Word with your spouse? No Middle Ground Left: Why Debate Has Become All or Nothing | Karel Cast 118 In today's America, there's no middle ground anymore. Yesterday, I — a proud, gay activist with trans family members — was labeled a transphobe simply for having a nuanced opinion about trans athletes and transitioning timelines. Instead of discussion, the immediate reaction was to attack. Even Governor Gavin Newsom has faced backlash from the extreme left for daring to agree with Charlie Kirk on certain issues. If you don't agree 100% with a group, you're branded as the enemy. That's not dialogue, that's division. Meanwhile, on a lighter note: do you have a bucket list? What's on it, and when will you start checking things off?

In this episode, White Collar Suge kicks off with a wild Epstein list accusation toward Sham, leading to a flurry of chaotic banter, side-eyes, and Drake jokes that never really recover. Riker shifts the topic with a house-flipping pitch that spirals into debates over gentrification, Detroit slander, and the Black Libertarian declaring war on Dearborn. The crew dives into the wild world of rating apps, vulnerability politics, and the myth of womanhood rebrands, all while Sham insists he's not participating (but totally is). Things heat up as they confront Pro-Black hypocrisy, the “Kamala ain't it” argument, and how some foster kids were treated like slaves by a white couple in a true story twist. By the end, everyone's confessing arrest stories, debating Resident Evil as celibacy propaganda, and dragging Tariq Nasheed for being Pro-Black with a snow bunny.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/everyday-black-men--2988631/support.
Cancel culture has become one of the most defining—and divisive—features of our modern world. For parents raising daughters, the stakes are high: one wrong post, one unpopular opinion, and she could face public shaming or social exile. How do we raise girls who remain unshaken in their Biblical convictions while leading with love, grace, and resilience? In this episode, Rachael Culpepper is joined by journalist, author, and cultural commentator Billy Hallowell for a powerful conversation on equipping girls to stand firm in Christ in the face of cultural pressure. Together, they unpack how cancel culture distorts the concepts of accountability and forgiveness, why the Gospel offers a radically different response, and what practical tools parents can give their daughters to navigate the digital world with discernment. You'll hear how to: Teach your daughter to speak truth boldly without fear of rejection Model healthy boundaries while practicing Biblical forgiveness Guide girls through social media pressures with confidence in their identity in Christ Use cultural moments as teachable opportunities about redemption and grace Introduce apologetics in a way that equips—not intimidates—young believers Referenced Scripture: Isaiah 5:20 2 Corinthians 5:17–20 Matthew 5:43–48 Romans 14:1–12 If you've been wondering how to raise a girl who can stand strong in her faith in a culture quick to “cancel,” this episode will encourage, challenge, and equip you for the journey. Cancel culture seems to demand that we choose sides—cutting off, calling out, and canceling others with little room for redemption. But what does a Gospel response look like? How do we teach our daughters to stand firm in their faith without returning fire with fire? In this Thursday episode, co-hosts Rachael Culpepper and Natalie Ambrose dig deep into how the divide created by cancel culture can be reconciled—not through compromise, but through Christ. Rooted in the ministry of reconciliation described in 2 Corinthians 5, this episode explores what it means to be a peacemaker in a polarized world and how to help your daughter hold truth and grace in tension. From toddler playground scuffles to teenaged social dynamics, cancel culture is showing up in your daughter's life earlier than ever. But instead of teaching her to cancel back, this conversation invites you to cast a different vision—one that prioritizes empathy, identity in Christ, spiritual maturity, and prayer for those who oppose her. You'll walk away with: A Gospel-centered framework for responding to cancel culture Real-life language to help your daughter approach conflict differently 3 practical jumping-off points to move her from canceling to reconciling AHG resources like GRIT with Grace that equip girls to practice Biblical unity in their everyday relationships As American Heritage Girls Founder & Executive Director Emeritus Patti Garibay reminds us in this week's Raising Godly Girls Minute, our differences are not a threat—they are an opportunity to celebrate the body of Christ in its fullness. Unity doesn't mean sameness; it means choosing love in the face of division. Scripture References: Genesis 6 – God grieves humanity's wickedness Isaiah 5:20 – “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil...” 2 Corinthians 5:17–20 – Ministry of reconciliation Romans 14:1–12 – Unity in the body despite differences Matthew 5:43–44 – “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” Revelation 7:9 – A vision of heaven's diversity: every tribe, nation, and tongue 2 Timothy 1:7 – Spirit of power, love, and self-discipline Our girls don't need to be cultural chameleons—they need to be Gospel lights. Teach her to lead with conviction, but love like Christ. Explore more resources to raise girls rooted in Christ at raisinggodlygirls.com. In this episode of Ami's House, we sit down with journalist Karys Rhea to ask a hard question: Are we alienating the last allies Israel has left on the American Right? From the rise of “woke right” factions, to the fallout of October 7, to the mainstreaming of antisemitism in conservative spaces — we explore how the pro-Israel camp risks losing support from its own friends. We get into Tucker, Candace, Megyn Kelly, Charlie Kirk, and the usefulness of the term "antisemitic."This is not just about politics — it's about whether Israel's defenders can hold their coalition together without pushing people away.Find Kara on X: https://x.com/rheakarys
I've known Zachary Levi for years, but this was the first time we sat down for an unfiltered conversation- and it was worth the wait. Zach opened up about faith, fatherhood, and why he's building a new kind of community in Texas called Wildwood. He spoke candidly about Hollywood, the backlash he's faced for speaking his mind, and what it feels like to live out his values in an industry that doesn't always welcome honesty. We talked about everything from politics and the pandemic to the dangers of AI and what it means to hold onto hope in a world that feels increasingly chaotic. Zach also shared how becoming a father has deepened his perspective and given him a renewed sense of purpose. This was Zachary Levi at his most real - thoughtful, passionate, and unapologetically himself. The Sage Steele Show is a weekly podcast hosted by former ESPN anchor Sage Steele. Is your spouse married to their job, or are you? In today's episode, we're talking about what happens when work takes priority over marriage and how couples can recognize the signs before it causes lasting damage. Let's talk about why this is such a common struggle, what Scripture says about balancing work and marriage, and how to reconnect when work has created distance. If you're feeling like your relationship is playing second to a career, this one's for you. Let's dive in. Episode Highlights: God gave us ambition and talents for a reason. Work balance in marriage is a common struggle. We tried to look at struggles as growth opportunities instead of failures Society adds to the pressure we feel to pursue success first. If conversations become logistical or date nights become extinct you may be prioritizing work over your marriage. There's a biblical order, that when we get that order right, everything else finds its proper place. Prayer reminds us who our work is truly for. Quotes from Today's Episode: The issue is when our ambition becomes our identity. When we believe our value comes from our next promotion. We are sacrificing our family for our ego. Our culture has us believe rest is laziness. Providing isn't just about money. Your spouse needs your presence, your attention, and your emotional availability. Scripture makes it clear that work is good. We are created in the image of a working God. Bu work has its place in the greater order, and that place isn't first.. Rest and relationship are sacred. Boundaries aren't restrictions. They are protections. Create rituals that prioritize connections. Our ultimate provision isn't in our performance, it's in God's faithfulness. See what happens when you're physically forced to be present with one another. Couples' Conversation Guide: What one daily ritual can you begin this week to show your spouse and your marriage the energy it deserves. (coffee in the morning, lunch time phone call, prayer in the evening, etc.) When you hear the word “boundaries” do you automatically feel restricted? How can we implement some boundaries that feel like protection instead? Does our calendar reflect our heart for keeping our marriage first? If not, where can you begin to say “no” so that you can say “yes” to your marriage? What are some physical distractions we can remove during our time together? In a world where boycotts trend by the hour and social media justice can render someone “canceled” overnight, Christian parents are left wondering—how should we respond? In this insightful and deeply relevant episode, co-hosts Rachael Culpepper and Natalie Ambrose step into the emotionally charged topic of Cancel Culture with clarity, nuance, and a Biblical lens. Rather than being driven by reactionary outrage, Christians are called to be rooted in grace, truth, and discernment. The conversation explores the dangers of modern Cancel Culture—doxing, boycotting, and outrage cycles—and contrasts them with the radical love and reconciliation found in Christ. Rachael and Natalie ask: What does it look like to live out a Grace Culture in a canceling world? And how do we teach our daughters to pursue peace, seek justice, and reflect the heart of Jesus in the face of public pressure? Listeners will appreciate the honesty of personal stories, Biblical insights, and encouragements to step away from knee-jerk reactions and instead stand firmly on their identity in Christ. With wisdom from the Raising Godly Girls Minute by American Heritage Girls Founder & Executive Director Emeritus Patti Garibay, this episode reminds us that we are uncanceled by God—and that truth has massive implications for how we love others. Scripture References: Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Ephesians 2:4–5 – “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ…” Matthew 5:8 – “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” Micah 6:8 – “What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” 2 Timothy 1:7 – “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” Whether you're trying to navigate social media, lead your family in integrity, or disciple your daughter through cultural confusion, this episode offers an anchored, grace-filled vision for Christian living in divisive times. In this episode of Quillette Cetera, Zoe Booth speaks with Harvard fellow and Cornell PhD Adam Szetela—author of new book That Book Is Dangerous: How Moral Panic, Social Media, and the Culture Wars Are Remaking Publishing (MIT Press, 2025). A working-class kid turned literary insider, Szetela exposes what he calls “the sensitivity era”: a cultural climate in which books are cancelled before they're published, authors are shamed into grovelling apologies, and sensitivity readers act as ideological enforcers—surveilling fiction for offence. Drawing on eye-opening examples and experimental research conducted at Cornell's Social Dynamics Lab, Szetela explains how peer pressure alone can turn readers against even canonical figures like Allen Ginsberg. He also reflects on the publishing industry's class divide, the fragility of elite institutions, and why pro wrestling and bodybuilding may offer a better education than the Ivy League. From J.K. Rowling and Goodreads mobs to the politics of soccer and masculinity—this is a frank and timely discussion about literary freedom in an age of moral panic. Learn more about your ad choices. n this powerful episode of Free Speech Forward, Chris and Joia speak with Muslim feminist reformer Soraya M. Deen, who reveals the shocking reality of advocating for women's rights within religious orthodoxy—where speaking truth can mean exile from your own community. From her awakening moment watching Ayaan Hirsi Ali on C-SPAN as a young mother to co-founding the Clarity Coalition, Deen exposes how cancel culture operates within faith communities and why so many of those who need to speak up remain dangerously silent. As an interfaith advocate fighting extremism and fundamentalism, she shares her radical approach of "truth circles"—creating brave spaces where conflicting ideas can clash without violence. Discover why she believes the greatest weapon against bad ideas is better ideas, how she builds collective consciousness using the "100th monkey" principle, and her urgent call for open debates about anti-Semitism and radical Islamic ideology on college campuses. Joining me today are Dave and Ann Wilson who have written a brand new book about what it looks like to speak life into our marriages; not just with the words we say, but also in the thoughts we choose to dwell on. We'll talk about why trying to be your spouse's Holy Spirit never works, why kindness is actually one of the most rebellious things we can do in today's world, and how reframing our inner dialogue can change the way we manage conflict. Whether you've been shouting to be heard, or quietly holding back the pain of unspoken expectations, today's conversation will offer biblical wisdom, practical tools, and fresh hope for building a marriage that reflects Christ's love. We pray this episode encourages you! Episode Highlights: How you approach the conversation matters. Hope and joy can only be in the Lord. Your words have the power to build up or tear down your spouse. Gratitude for your spouse can change your perspective of your spouse. Quotes from Today's Episode: Men go where they're affirmed. They go there. - Dave Wilson I realize like when I'm in the Word, I look at things different. I look at the world different. I look at Dave different. And it started, God's Word started to change me. - Ann Wilson But there's something that's really holy about seeing greatness in a person and being able to communicate it in some way. - Ann Wilson I had put all my hopes and dreams in Dave. I'd taken them off of Jesus and I was like, you could make me happy. And it's easy to get into that rut of like, if you would just do X, Y, Z, I could be more content. - Ann Wilson God's given us to each other to sharpen one another- Dave Wilson Speak life to your husband. Bring him back to be the man God created him to be. We can help shape how our husbands and how our kids feel about themselves, but we have to first connect with Jesus. - Ann Wilson What good does it do to only think of the negative? You can't say everything you feel! Couples' Conversation Guide: How do we typically approach hard conversations with each other—and what could we do to make those moments feel safer and more affirming? Have we unintentionally placed our hope or happiness in each other instead of in God? What would it look like to shift that back to Jesus as our source of joy? What is one thing I genuinely admire or am grateful for in you that I may not say often enough? How can we be more intentional about calling out the good in each other? Send us a textToday, I'm here with my good friend and fellow podcaster, Ken Fong. Every week, the two of us dig deep into the big conversations shaping our lives, our culture, and the soul of our nation. We come to you from different vantage points, different life experiences, but with a shared commitment to truth, curiosity, and connection. This week, we talk about something that's been quietly eroding the way we live together as Americans — the loss of a national audience. Remember when 34 million people tuned in to watch The Cosby Show? Today, Stephen Colbert barely pulls in 3 million viewers. We're living in silos now, fragmented into tribes, each consuming our own narrow stream of information. Entertainment. E pluribus unum — out of many, one — feels more like a historical slogan than a lived reality. We'll also tackle the ongoing culture wars: from attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion, to the rise of a “colorblind” narrative that erases cultural heritage, to the growing movement to merge church and state. Figures like Doug Wilson, Pete Hegseth, Russell Vought, and Charlie Kirk are openly advocating for a theocratic America — one where women are subordinate and “Christian nationalism” rules the land. And beyond politics, we're looking at the real impact of fear and division — from ICE raids in our neighborhoods to the suppression of voices that challenge the status quo. It's time to wake up. In this episode of Holy Disruption, host Heather Schott and guest Russell Johnson, the lead pastor of Pursuit Northwest, discuss the impact of cancel culture on the church and its alignment with an antichrist spirit. They explore the differences between secular and ecclesial cancel culture, the misuse of social media, and the biblical foundations of mercy and redemption. They emphasize the need for discernment, accountability, and a focus on restoration within the body of Christ. The conversation calls for Christians to avoid participation in cancel culture and instead pursue unity, holiness, and a culture of mercy.
13.08.2025 pt 2 In a wide-ranging and unapologetically honest chat, comedian Kurt takes us from the smell of leather bench seats in classic cars to the uncomfortable sting of racism, making the case for humor as a bridge between people. Along the way, he rips into modern cars' soulless designs, the quirks of South Africa's “celebrity” class, and why some insults sting more in certain cultures than others. There's no sacred cow — whether it's customer service disasters, the politics of apologies, or the absurdity of cancel culture, Kurt calls it as he sees it. The conversation swerves between personal and political — one minute dissecting the global decline of genuine fame through the lens of Will Smith, the next debating the raw power of swear words and whether censoring them just makes them stronger. From the grind of running a comedy club to the difference between killing it on stage versus online, it's a masterclass in navigating the modern cultural minefield — all ending with a hilariously bittersweet sign-off about birthdays, ghosted dates, and funeral fashion. Welcome back to the podcast, Nancy is joining me again today. These have become some of my favorite episodes, getting to do this with her! Today we're talking about something every marriage needs, and that's forgiveness and grace. We know that even in the best marriages, we hurt each other, sometimes in small ways, sometimes in big ways. The question isn't if we'll need to forgive, but how we can forgive well, and extend grace like God extends grace to us. Our prayer is that this is relatable and encouraging, but also that it inspires you to evaluate the opportunities you have every day to extend grace and forgiveness to your spouse. Episode Highlights: It's important to acknowledge where you are storing up resentment. Forgiveness is key in the big things, but even more important in the little nuances of life. Marriage isn't a game to keep score. When you know what a great sacrifice our Savior made, you're able to come before Him and allow His forgiveness to pour through you onto our spouse. Both spouses must own their part of the conflict. Quotes from Today's Episode: It's easy to get in the habit of score keeping. We have opportunities every day to forgive. If it's a big deal I need to address it, if it's not then I need to let it go. Your marriage is so much happier if you don't let something derail you. This is our marriage, we have to figure out what works for us. When you forgive, it doesn't make the sin okay. The Holy Spirit has the job of conviction, it's not my job. Couples' Conversation Guide: Where in our marriage might we be unintentionally "keeping score”? In what areas do you find it difficult to extend grace? How can we shift our mindset? How can we better reflect God's forgiveness towards us in the way we respond to each other's mistakes Mentioned in this Episode: Find Dr. Kim on Instagram Find Awesome Marriage on Instagram Help your children write God's Word on their hearts with our FREE 11 Bible Verses For Kids to Memorize Parenting in today's society can feel overwhelming, especially when you desire to intentionally shepherd your children toward Christ in a world that preaches quite the opposite. Today's episode of Joe Untamed is a no-holds-barred deep dive into the fight for America's soul. We're joined by Pedro Israel Orta, a decorated CIA veteran, military patriot, and Christian minister who blew the whistle on deep corruption inside our government—and paid the price. His story is a powerful warning about what happens when those in power silence truth-tellers. We dive into President Trump's push to fix the Census and stop illegal immigrants from skewing congressional power, exposing how sanctuary cities are gaining unfair influence. We break down the shocking ICE raid in Los Angeles, the brutal carjacking in Washington D.C. that has Trump demanding federal control, and a terrifying shooting on a U.S. military base that raises hard questions about security and leadership. We even hit the cultural frontlines, where South Park hilariously—and disturbingly—mocks the radical absurdities of both political extremes. This episode is for every American who loves their country and refuses to sit silent while the system breaks down. If you believe in faith, freedom, and the future of this Republic, you won't want to miss it.
What happens when the work you love, your life's devotion, collides with public scrutiny, betrayal, and cancel culture? In this intimate conversation, I sit down with my closest collaborator and soul sister in this movement, Yolande Norris-Clark. Together, we unpack what it's been like to build groundbreaking programs for women, like our 10-month mentorship, The MatriBirth Mentor Institute (MMI), while simultaneously weathering the storm of online harassment, public misrepresentation, and the many initiations that come with success. This is a raw and honest reflection on navigating backlash, strengthening boundaries, and staying anchored in your values while walking a path most don't understand. We speak to the complex dance of sisterhood and collaboration, and how our friendship has been both tested and deepened by the work we continue to stand for. This episode is for the women who know they're here to disrupt the norm, build what's never been built before, and stay the course even when darkness tries to push back.Inside this episode, we explore:What hate groups taught us about privacy, protection, and spiritual hygieneWhy we chose to rebrand the name of MMI to something that feels more alignedHow scrutiny and slander can catalyze profound personal evolution and maturityThe beauty and necessity of sisterhood that doesn't flinch under fireWhy being rooted in purpose is the only sustainable strategy for enduring cancel cultureWhat it really takes to keep showing up when you know you're being watched in bad faithWe created The MatriBirth Mentor Institute because we know the sovereign birth-work path isn't easy—but it's necessary. MMI is the container for women called to lead in truth, in integrity, and in devotion. This episode is a glimpse into the lived experience of harvesting the fruits of “mob mentality” and doing the inner work to become “uncancellable”.Timestamps:[00:00] Introduction[04:22] Fear of visibility and public backlash in sovereign birth work[12:54] Processing betrayal and loss of support[22:28] Birth as a political and spiritual battleground[42:05] Finding freedom and accountability in the face of public criticism[54:59] Growing into leadership and re-evaluating boundaries[01:08:32] Building a lasting movement for sovereign birth and mentorshipResources Mentioned:Matriarch Rising Festival | WebsiteThe Lighthouse | WebsiteRadical Birth Keeper School | WebsiteThe MatriBirth Mentor Institute | WebsiteIf you want to connect further with Yolande, give her a follow on Instagram.Find more from Emilee on Instagram, YouTube and the Free Birth Society website.Disclaimer: Free Birth Society, LLC of North Carolina shares personal and educational stories and experiences related to freebirth and holistic care. In this open-line Friday segment, the show dives into the cultural firestorm surrounding Sydney Sweeney's Baskin-Robbins ad — and what the backlash says about beauty standards, cancel culture, and political identity in America today. Tara explores how major brands are pushing back against left-wing cultural dominance and why the reaction to Sweeney's image is about more than just aesthetics. Listeners also join the conversation, including a compelling call from Riley in Chesnee, who makes a heartfelt plea for younger voters to get involved in local politics — especially in critical races like sheriff elections. The episode wraps with practical advice for digital activism, including how to build influence and spread truth on platforms like X. A thought-provoking blend of cultural commentary and grassroots organizing, this episode challenges listeners to reject fear, engage the culture, and take back the narrative — one post, one vote, and one conversation at a time.
