From Spider-Man slinging across the MCU to Green Lanterns lighting up HBO, superhero stories are everywhere—and for good reason. But what if you don't need a radioactive spider bite, alien origin, or high-tech suit to unlock extraordinary results in your life and business? In this episode of Win Make Give, Bob Stewart and Chad Hyams break down how to discover and deploy the real-world "superpowers" you already possess. They explore how your personal origin story builds unmatched resilience, why willpower operates like a Green Lantern ring, how to build your own Justice League, and the daily tactics needed to defeat your biggest internal supervillains: procrastination and self-doubt. How did Spider-Man, Firestar, and Iceman become best friends and also a superhero team? And how did they afford that massive super-computer in their secret lair, when they're also broke college students who can barely afford to pay their rent to Aunt May? "The Origin of the Spider-Friends" tries to answer these questions, although after watching this episode, we really don't know why Peter Parker is friends with these two. Bobby and Angelica relentlessly bully Peter at school, although it's not entirely clear if they even know they're doing that. Also, Tony Stark is in this episode, because he turns out to be the reason the Spider-Friends have that super-computer. This episode's plot doesn't make very much sense, but we all found it to be a delight to watch... that's classic Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends! We repeatedly refer to the GENO pilot in this episode (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcOGmOX79nw), which was a pilot for a TV show that Ryan and Maddy made in 2016. We never made any other episodes of the show, though. Also, Todd refers at one point to this amazing clip from the Wonder Woman TV show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCJsCM_4BNI Next episode: "Spidey Meets the Girl From Tomorrow," Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends E-mail us questions and feedback at themutantages@gmail.com, or follow us on social media at TheMutantAges. Read transcript>Let's just say it up front: turning a trading card game into a video game is a magic trick where the “trading” and the “card” both quietly slip out the back door, leaving you with a menu that goes “ding” when you win. And Marvel decided this was worth doing not once, but on two separate handhelds that weren't even talking to each other, like a superhero team-up where nobody checked who else was showing up. Somewhere, someone looked at the specific joy of slapping a foil Spider-Man card down on a table hard enough to rattle the juice boxes, and said: what if we replaced that with a stylus tap? What if deck-building, the sacred art of jamming eighty cards into a rubber band and hoping for the best, became a scroll menu instead? Visionary. Extremely quiet. Nobody's little brother has ever stormed off in a rage over a scroll menu. Dealing me in for this one is Gen Moonen, co-host of the “Fun” & Games Podcast alongside Matt Storm, a show built entirely around two people who genuinely, unapologetically love games, which honestly should be a requirement for every gaming podcast and somehow still isn't. So grab a deck, or a controller, or whatever the modern version of “shuffle and pray” is, and let's find out if Marvel Trading Card Game is a genuinely good time, or a lesson in why some hobbies were never meant to leave the kitchen table. Learn such things as: Is it as satisfying to play an amazing card in the game as it is to play that card in real life? Does it bother anyone that the winner of the fight is at least partly decided by random number generation? How is it even possible to get a story going when nobody can know what you'll be able to do later in the game? And so much more! Then we chat towards the very lack-luster reveal of King Hiss from the MOTU Chronicles line. Peacemaker from Mezco 1:12 is arguably the definitive Toy version of this character we will likely ever get! McFarlane wrap things up with their Wave 16 of DC Super Powers - with an interesting line-up of Characters. But with this being the finale; who are we missing from this overall toy line-up? PlayStation One are getting the Lego treatment; which honestly looks great; but what is with their Easter Egg game choices?! Then we pivot into a general chat towards Latest Scores & then followed up with Reading / Playing / Watching. An overall fun episode - if not for Ben continually tripping over his sentences!

The mask allowed Tom Holland's jaw to move, and his real eyes were visible through the mesh so the audience never forgets there's a human under the mask. -Pawlak's approach to lighting a tentpole movie. Using as much natural light as possible. -Solving the Jean Grey telekinesis sequence with a simple method. Travels With Randy Route 66 In The Fall of '26 Episode 2 is here! Wisconsin Ya Sure You Betcha Randy and Bubba's Casual Updates Randy and Bubba discussed Randy's recent travels in Wisconsin, including stories about mosquitoes, Wisconsin Dells, and visiting during biker week. Bubba shared challenges with hot weather affecting his book business warehouse, including issues with sweat damaging packages. They briefly discussed football season and streaming service upgrades, then concluded with Randy sharing news about Stan Kroenke's $4 billion purchase of the Los Angeles Angels baseball team. Sports Franchise Valuation Discussion Randy shared information about a team owner's background, including details about his wife who is worth around $11 billion and owns 1% of Walmart. They discussed the recent $3.9 billion sale of the San Diego Padres, making it the most expensive MLB team sale to date, which influenced the higher price paid for the Angels. The conversation also touched on sports betting scandals and the rapidly increasing value of sports franchises, with Randy noting how million-dollar values have lost significance as billion-dollar values approach that threshold. Movie Performance and Re-Release Discussion Bubba and Randy discussed recent movie performances, with Bubba noting that Avengers: Endgame is projected to become the first film to earn $3 billion, while Spider-Man and other movies have performed well despite COVID-19's impact on theaters. They also discussed the success of independent films like "Obsession," which cost under $1 million to make and earned over $200 million. The conversation then shifted to the upcoming re-release of Cars, which Randy viewed as an opportunity to introduce Route 66 to a new generation, expressing concern about the road's future and the importance of road trips in understanding America's diverse landscapes. Generational Decline in Road Trips Randy expressed concerns about younger generations' lack of interest in road trips compared to previous generations, attributing it to their heavy digital lifestyle. Randy also discussed how modern car manufacturers lack the style and variety of older cars like muscle cars and 1950s vehicles, with most new cars appearing similar in black, white, and maroon colors. Randy recommended that grandparents take their grandchildren to see the Route 66 movie and suggested that Gen Xers should take their children to refresh their memories of the route. Travel and Family History Updates Randy shared updates about recent travels, including doctor visits in South Dakota where costs were significantly lower than in Washington for car registration, insurance, and Medicare. He discussed his current Lake Michigan Circle Tour trip, encountering challenges with hot weather and mosquitoes while camping in Wisconsin. The conversation ended with Randy explaining his family history research in Wisconsin, specifically mentioning his great-grandfather's birthplace and efforts to trace ancestors who disappeared after the 1860 census. Family History and Wisconsin Travel Randy shared his research into his family's history, particularly focusing on how his great-grandfather changed his surname from Smith to Smythe around the 1860s. He visited Wisconsin Dells and observed Bike Week, describing the scene of older motorcyclists with their partners. Randy is currently traveling around Lake Michigan, staying at different wineries and farms as part of a harvest host program, and expressed strong appreciation for the people and scenery of Wisconsin. Wisconsin Travels and Route 66 Bubba and Randy discussed Randy's recent travels around Wisconsin, including his experiences in Sheboygan, Milwaukee, and Door County. They talked about Wisconsin's unique cultural aspects, including supper clubs and the state's reputation for beer production. Randy shared plans for his upcoming Route 66 trip, which will take a different direction and include interviews with local people. Bubba mentioned the success of their Route 66 calendar sales and discussed potential future content, including a paid subscription option for Randy's photography on Facebook.   SO. MANY.
