From COVID-19 to Hair Cuts- Handling Fear in our Children and Ourselves

With store shelves empty and schools closed for weeks, Hudson Valley families are faced with a new reality brought about by COVID 19. With the introduction of the virus, new anxieties arise as parents take on the responsibility of guiding and protecting their families throughout the coming few weeks. While adults worry about staying healthy, telecommuting and social distancing, toddlers have a whole separate but real set of worries. Whether it be a trip to the dentist, the hair salon, or just turning out the light for bedtime, their sense of discomfort can be overwhelming for an exasperated parent. Angela and Nicole discuss the tactics that have proven successful in the combat of both their own struggles with the current health crisis, as well as their child's fear of visiting the doctor's office for shots. Kristan McDade from The Underground Hair Salon (in The Land of Oz of Rhinebeck, NY) joins the show to discuss her approach for alleviating the fears in her younger patrons and creating an enjoyable experience for parent and child alike.

Ang and Nicole focus on the art of sleep consulting with Ro Chickery of Infant Sleep Solutions. Somewhat surprisingly, sleep consulting isn't only reserved for the elite. Ro's goal is to create a customizable formula to lift the fog of sleep deprivation for families everywhere through the dedication she places on learning what make your child unique- and what makes them sleep through the night.
