Did you know that people who focus on their strengths tend to be happier, feel more alive, and achieve greater success? Many of us obsess over fixing our blind spots and overcoming weaknesses. But what if the key to overcoming adversity is, counterintuitively, focusing on what is right about ourselves and others, rather than what is wrong? In this episode of The Spacemakers, Daniel and Matt continue their exploration of the science of strengths. They explore how to find your "fun lane" and share counterintuitive strategies like 'bending' and 'partnering' to overcome weaknesses. Are you ready to harness your strengths and leverage past successes to get unstuck?Discover more:INFO-GRAPHIC DOWNLOADSPACEMAKERS WEBSITE / Season 3YOUTUBERAISING TECH HEALTHY HUMANSThis episode is made possible with support from our sponsor: Banjo's Bakery Cafes This podcast is recorded and produced by Production Farm StudiosMentioned in this episode:Banjo's Bakery Café's - FRANCHISEES 1A warm thanks to our sponsor, Banjo's Bakery Café's, who are expanding across Australia and looking for new franchisee's! As humans, we often try to solve our problems by adding rather than subtracting. This unconscious bias leads us to pile on excessive projects, clutter our homes, and push our limits—consistently adding more instead of opting for less. We need a different way of thinking to make space and get unstuck. In this episode, Matt and Daniel of The Spacemakers delve into the science of subtraction, explaining why 'less' is often the secret to moving forward. Sharing personal experiences of their own challenges, they introduce three critical strategies—bundling, trading, and eliminating—to help you make small but pivotal changes to redirect your life and get unstuck.Discover more:INFO-GRAPHIC DOWNLOADSPACEMAKERS WEBSITE / Season 3YOUTUBERAISING TECH HEALTHY HUMANSThis episode is made possible with support from our sponsor: Banjo's Bakery Cafes This podcast is recorded and produced by Production Farm StudiosMentioned in this episode:BANJOS BAKERY PROMO #2A warm thanks to our sponsor, Banjo's Bakery Café's, who are expanding across Australia and looking for new franchisee's! We have such a great episode today. Shilpa and Miro Uskokovic are the husband and wife duo behind the amazing new New York City bakery Hani's Bakery + Café, located in the East Village. First up Matt has an amazing conversation with Shilpa about her professional cooking career, which led to a job at Bon Appétit. Today Shilpa is BA's senior test kitchen editor, and we talk about some of the stories she is working on and how the new BA Bake Club is getting so many people to take a break and just bake.Later on, Aliza catches up with Miro to talk about his own incredible pastry career and his legacy as pastry chef at Gramercy Tavern, where he worked for over a decade. Of course, they also talk about Hani's and the amazing desserts, breads, and other items lining the bakery's case. Shilpa and Miro are two of our favorites in food—what a power couple! One common piece of career advice is to “follow your heart”—that is, pursue what you love and chase your passions. While this may be great advice at 40, it can be downright misleading at 20, as what works in one season of life may not apply in the next. In this episode, Daniel Sih and Matt Bain continue their exploration of career resets as the years go by. We'll discuss the importance of building career capital through deliberate practice and the value of “actively doing nothing” to uncover your life's meaning.Resources: GET A FREE SUMMARY OF SEASON 2 with print-ready activitiesLIFEPLANSTRENGTHSKAIROS MOMENTS VIDEODiscover more:SPACEMAKERS WEBSITEYOUTUBERAISING TECH HEALTHY HUMANSThis season is made possible with support from our sponsors: Banjo's Bakery CafesThis podcast is recorded and produced by Production Farm StudiosMentioned in this episode:Banjo's Bakery Café's - FRANCHISEES 1A warm thanks to our sponsor, Banjo's Bakery Café's, who are expanding across Australia and looking for new franchisee's! Tracing its origins to the year 1960, when the Porto family made the tough decision to leave their home in Manzanillo, Cuba. After living through the drastic changes that were taking place around them, they requested permission to leave the country. Immediately Raul Sr. was terminated from his job and sent away to manual labor for the duration of the wait period. Wife, Rosa Porto was also let go. Knowing that it may take years to be able to leave the country, Rosa found herself alone and having to find a means to support her three children Betty, Raul Jr., and Margarita.Rosa, always a talented cake maker, with a passion for baking, entrenched herself in perfecting her recipes and began selling her delicious cakes to friends and neighbors not realizing that she was also building herself a loyal customer base.Porto’s Bakery & Café now serves thousands of customers and employs hundreds of team members in Southern California, with a store in Glendale, a store in Burbank, and a third in the city of Downey.
