This podcast with Roís- Máire was recorded shortly after  the horrific stabbing incident in North Belfast and before the racist pogroms which followed. It was also before the PSNI warned the Belfast Ard Mheara that her life was in danger. It has been a difficult week especially for those citizens evicted from their homes. We stand in solidarity with them. Racism is the first cousin of sectarianism. The majority of people are opposed  to both these negative evils. Elon Musk and others who support these despicible actions from afar should shut up. The good people who helped our neighbours are to be commended.  Belfast says NO to racism.

Tento týden to po schůzce s řediteli médií oznámil premiér Andrej Babiš. Je tak boj o poplatky definitivně u konce? Hostem Ptám se já byl generální ředitel Českého rozhlasu René Zavoral. Po úterním jednání pracovní skupiny, na které se sešli zástupci vládní koalice ANO, SPD a Motoristů s řediteli veřejnoprávních médiích potvrdil premiér Andrej Babiš (ANO) záměr koalice zrušit koncesionářské poplatky. Kolik by ale měla Česká televize a Český rozhlas místo poplatků dostávat ze státního rozpočtu, nikdo z představitelů koalice neuvedl. Návrh by měla vláda projednat v pondělí. „Nechceme mluvit do obsahu nebo tato média ‚ovládnout‘, jak se nám nejen opozice stále snaží podsouvat. Cílem je, aby už občanům nechodily složenky za službu, kterou sami nevyužívají. Takový systém dával smysl před 35 lety, když lidé na výběr neměli,“ napsal na síti X po schůzce premiér Babiš. Ministr kultury Oto Klempíř (za Motoristy), jehož předchozí návrh zákona o veřejnoprávních médiích vláda smetla ze stolu, v úterý prohlásil, že obě média neutrpí finanční újmu proti současnosti. Jeho nový návrh by podle něj měl zajistit transparentnost a dlouhodobost financování. Zákon by měl platit od 1. ledna 2027. Generální ředitel ČRo René Zavoral řekl, že nehodlá přistoupit na kompromis a požaduje zachování poplatkového systému. V případě jeho zrušení chce Zavoral bojovat za výši příjmů, s čímž souhlasil i ředitel ČT Hynek Chudárek. „Opravdu čím dál tím víc přemýšlím, že ta schůzka byla o tom mít splněno, udělat si fajfku. A jsem přesvědčen, že ani Český rozhlas, ani Česká televize žádnou stafáž, ani užitečné idioty v tom procesu změny legislativy dělat nemá,“ řekl Zavoral v Ptám se já. A odmítl pozdější komentář šéfa Sněmovny a lídra SPD Tomia Okamury, že ředitelé nebyli připraveni na otázky ohledně rozpočtu: „(Tomio Okamura) prostě lže. Ta schůzka o tom přece vůbec nebyla. On moc dobře ví, že tam řekl dvě věty na začátku. Nebyla žádná diskuze o tom, jak rozpočet vypadá, z čeho se skládá, jaké činnosti Český rozhlas či Česká televize zajišťuje. Diskuze se paradoxně nejvíce vedla o sportu.“ČT letos hospodaří s rozpočtem 8,5 miliardy korun, z toho 6,7 miliardy tvoří příjmy z poplatků. ČRo má naplánované příjmy a výdaje na více než  2,7 miliardy korun, z poplatků počítá s 2,4 miliardy korun.Proč nechce vláda dát do zákona pojistky, které by média chránily? Petdeset let po potresu, ki je 6. maja 1976 opustošil Benečijo in Furlanijo, se spominjamo tudi izjemnega vala solidarnosti, ki je pripeljal do pobratenja 81 italijanskih škofij z župnijami, prizadetimi v potresu v nadškofiji Videm in škofiji Concordia-Pordenone. Nadškofija Bologna se je pobratila z župnijami v dolini Rezije, ki jih je potres močno prizadel; pod ruševinami je umrlo sedem ljudi. Najbolj oprijemljiv znak solidarnosti bolonjske Cerkve je bila gradnja 46 hišic za prav toliko družin. Po poročanju beneškoslovenskega petnajstdnevnika Dom bo osrednji dogodek obujanja spominov ob obletnici pobratenja ta konec tedna. Napovedani so obiski, srečanja in bogoslužna slavja. Vrhunec bo zahvalna sveta maša, ki jo v nedeljo v župnijski pracerkvi na Ravanci daroval kardinal Matteo Zuppi, nadškof Bologne in predsednik Italijanske škofovske konference. Dom napoveduje še, da bo to soboto na Dobraču potekalo jubilejno, deseto Čezmejno srečanje. Kulturnozgodovinsko vodstvo do vrha Dobrača se bo začelo na Rožtrati nad Beljakom. Med potjo bo o zgodnji Karantaniji spregovoril deželni konservator Gorazd Živkovič. Ob 11.30 bo v slovenski cerkvi na vrhu gore sveto mašo daroval krški škof Jože Marketz. Na vrh Dobrača vabijo številne ustanove z območja tromeje.

Many believers fall into the toxic pattern of seeking a temporary fix or a situational miracle only when a crisis erupts, turning their spiritual walk into a transactional ritual. However, an unshakeable faith, an immovable reliance on the Holy Spirit, must be developed beforehand. Much like the disciplined preparation of an army that undergoes rigorous daily training to face eventual combat without panic, a Christian must strengthen their inner spiritual core during seasons of peace. If you only seek the church alter or the deliverance ministry when affliction strikes, your foundation remains vulnerable to the shifting winds of adversity.

Sin wraps us in chains and drags us places we don't want to go. It truly turns us into slaves, people held in bondage unable to do as we please. But becoming "God's slave" is a very different matter. He who gave us a free will so we could choose to love and obey Him in the first place does not take that freedom away when we become born again. God has absolutely no desire to have little mindless human beings running around serving Him. The idea is repulsive to Him. The Bible clearly teaches that what He longs for are children, adopted sons and daughters who serve Him, because they love Him and become holy, because they want to be like the One they worship (Jn 15:15; Ro 8:14-17,23,29; Gal 3:26; 4:6,7; Heb 2:10). And because this is His nature, our service of Him will always be freely chosen. So if I'm to become the "slave of obedience" that Paui describes I must constantly choose to submit myself to God's will. But such glorious freedom brings with it its own form of danger. If I have freedom to obey, then I also have the freedom to disobey, and when I disobey, I open the door for a powerful force to come in and recapture me, a force which will try to take hold of me and pull me away from God if I continue to indulge in It. That's the danger Paul is warning us about in this passage. He assures us that God is more than able to protect us from these deadly forces (Ro 8:31 -39) but now he's reminding us that we must be diligent to let Him. Last episode he told us how to die to sin. He said we must by faith bury the old self with Christ; we crucify that old, selfish, rebellious spirit we inherited from Adam (Ro 6:1 -7). But this episode he tells us how to stay free from sin. He says the way we'll avoid sliding back under control of those old forces is to choose to "enslave" ourselves to God. Let's discover what he means. Power plant water and steam chemistry does not fail in isolation. A mistaken unit, an unused analyzer, an overdesigned pretreatment system, or a misunderstood condensate return problem can ripple across equipment, permits, production, and safety. In this Part 2 conversation with Bradley Buecker of SAMCO Technologies and Buecker Associates, Trace Blackmore continues a practical discussion on the details that shape industrial water decisions. Brad shares field stories from combined cycle plants, package boilers, wastewater permitting, membrane systems, and decades of technical writing.   When Small Errors Become Expensive Problems Brad opens with a story about a wastewater permitting issue where parts per million and parts per billion were confused in a discharge permit. The result was not just a paperwork problem. Once the stricter limits were accepted by regulators, meeting those limits would have required more complex and expensive wastewater treatment equipment. That story is a reminder for water professionals reviewing RFPs, permits, and engineering specifications. Precision matters before a project is built, not after the limits have already been approved. Brad also discusses PFAS with appropriate caution. He does not present himself as a PFAS expert, but he connects the conversation to zero liquid discharge, brine concentrators, crystallizers, and the unresolved question of what happens to solids when contaminants are concentrated rather than discharged.   Membranes, Discharge, and the Changing Water Balance Looking across more than four decades in the industry, Brad points to membranes as one of the major changes in power plant water treatment. He discusses how reverse osmosis extended ion exchange demineralizer run times, and how microfiltration and ultrafiltration improved water quality going to RO systems. However, Brad also makes clear that better pretreatment does not remove every operational question. RO reject remains a substantial discharge stream. Meanwhile, the movement away from once-through cooling toward cooling towers has changed how plants think about water consumption, evaporation, discharge, and resource availability. For professionals managing water in power and industrial systems, the episode reinforces a practical lesson: every improvement has a system-level consequence that must be understood.   The Real Cost of "Lean and Mean" Brad uses the phrase "lean and mean" to describe how some combined cycle plants are staffed. In one example, a plant had a comprehensive online chemistry monitoring system installed, but it had never been turned on because the staff did not have the experience to maintain or interpret it. In another case, a groundwater-based makeup system included seven-layer multimedia filters even though groundwater typically has very few particulates. Brad could not make a categorical conclusion without a full analysis, but the story raises an important question: are we solving the actual water problem, or simply buying equipment? He also shares a case from an organic chemicals plant with four 550 PSI package boilers. The plant returned 80 to 90 percent of its condensate, but total organic carbon levels were far above the ASME recommended limit for that pressure boiler. Foam in the saturated steam samples helped point to carryover into the superheaters, where scale was building up inside the tubes.   Learning, Mentorship, and Leaving the Industry Better Beyond the technical stories, Brad's message is clear: professionals who keep learning are better prepared to make sound decisions. Good intentions aren't enough. Wanting to please God and live a clean life isn't enough. The incessant pressure we face is simply too much to withstand. It's like swimming against the tide. I may be able to hold on for a while, but sooner or later I'll grow weary and be carried along against my will. Unless we understand this and humbly accept our own weakness, we'll never live victorious Christian lives. This is what Paul is trying to show us. He wants us to see it's impossible to live godly lives without constantly receiving real, active help from God. So we'll understand why, he analyzes what happened to the human race when Adam sinned, and then he shows us what changes when we put our faith in Jesus... and what doesn't, that is, not yet. Knowing what does change and what doesn't change yet makes all the difference in the world. It explains why I fail and teaches me what I must do to succeed. Any Christian who has struggled with an addiction or been overwhelmed by compulsive emotions; any pastor or caregiver who has tried to help someone be released from bondage; anyone who's wondered why so many Christians fail to live the Christian life successfully will find the answer in these chapters (Ro 5-8).
