Back in the 70s and 80s, the television broadcast of The Wizard of Oz was a hugely anticipated annual event. The kids had their Wizard of Oz dolls from Mego, and their Wizard of Oz comic book from Marvel and DC, just to get them through the long year between viewings. But that was the classic movie from 1939. Have you ever seen the 1925 version? Kevin and the Mayor just did, so we're here to file our report for you. This is a bizarre little silent slapstick comedy, and it features a Buster Keaton-type Scarecrow, a Dorothy played by a lady actually named Dorothy, Oliver Hardy (pre-Laurel) as the Tin Man, an unhealthy dose of blatant racism, and a vomiting duck. It's not great, but it is a curiosity. And since it's silent, you don't have to worry about the duck breaking into "Over the Rainbow." The Flopcast website! The ESO Network! The Flopcast on Facebook! In the early morning hours of April 17, 1966, five law enforcement officers from four different agencies watched in disbelief as a massive, glowing, football-shaped craft silently hovered over a Pennsylvania shopping center parking lot — the same object two Ohio sheriff's deputies had just chased at speeds exceeding 100 mph across 86 miles of highway. When the Air Force investigated, they had a simple explanation: the officers had been chasing the planet Venus.*No AI Voices Are Used In The Narration Of This Podcast*IN THIS EPISODE: Some believe them to be ghosts, others feel they are creatures or even humans from a different dimension. Still others believe they are demonic entities. Whatever the truth about what they are, the one thing everyone agrees about is that an encounter with a shadow person is undeniably terrifying. (Terrifying True Stories Of Shadow People) *** The townsfolk of Beaver County, Pennsylvania saw something very strange in 1966 – and now, so many decades later, it's just as much of a mystery as it was the day the encounter occurred. (The Unsolved Sighting in 1966) *** Some are beloved favorites like “The Wizard of Oz”, others you may never have seen, like Atuk. Some are dark in tone like “Poltergeist”, or heroic like the first Superman movie starring Christopher Reeve. But one thing all of these films and the others I'll share in this episode have in common is that they are all supposedly cursed. The story of the American Revolution has been told through every form of media, but what is never spoken of was the foundation of faith that underpinned everything that happed during those transformative times. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we looked back at the founding of our nation and how God’s hand directed the men who fought and died to establish this nation and it’s God-given freedoms as a model for the rest of the world. The Wizard of Oz is a childhood classic film and the images from this beloved film are ingrained in our collective memories. But our guest took us behind the scenes of an experience he had as the Lord showed him hidden truths and spiritual lessons that can be applied to all our lives through this beloved children’s film. The enemy is always seeking to tempt, distract and mislead God’s people but our guest, a respected pastor and teacher says that we don’t have to give in to his deceptions. Our guest gave us a clear understanding of the enemy’s tactics and what we can do to avoid falling into those temptations. Women take on so many challenges and roles throughout their lives and the exhaustion from carrying so many burdens is overwhelming. But women who walk with Christ have a fount of rest and restoration through Him that others do not. Our guest shared some wonderfully encouraging “refreshments” from God’s word that believing wives, mothers and grandmothers can take to their hearts and live with confidence and grace and give the same to others as well. Nobody is excluded from the power of media’s influence in their lives these days. From social media, tv news and internet articles we are bombarded with ideas and beliefs that can easily confuse and mislead us into wrong thinking. But we have the unflinching truth of God’s word to measure those ideas against. Some organizations have no heart at all. The best have three! That's the thesis of the new book, The Octopus Organization: A Guide to Thriving in a World of Continuous Transformation, co-authored by our guests, Phil Le Brun and Jana Werner. Both work with leaders operating at global scale—Phil as an Executive in Residence at Amazon Web Services, and Jana as a Global Executive Advisor at AWS—helping organizations navigate complexity, change, and continuous transformation. In their book, Phil and Jana introduce a clear contrast between what they call Tin Man organizations and Octopus organizations. Tin Man organizations are rigid, highly centralized, and overly dependent on a small group of decision-makers at the top. Like the character in The Wizard of Oz, they operate with structure but no heart. Decision-making slows, intelligence gets trapped in the hierarchy, and employees often wait for direction rather than contributing meaningfully. Octopus organizations, by contrast, are alive with three hearts. They are intelligent, adaptive, and responsive. A strong central purpose keeps everyone aligned, but authority and decision-making are distributed to the people closest to the work. Teams are empowered to sense, decide, and act, allowing the organization to learn, adapt, and thrive in real time. A central contribution of the book is the identification of what Phil and Jana call organizational “anti-patterns”—recurring leadership behaviors and systems that feel reasonable in the moment but consistently undermine clarity, trust, cohesion, and performance. These patterns exist even in organizations with talented people and strong intentions. In this episode, we explore several anti-patterns in depth: the lack of clarity that leaves people guessing what truly matters; the overuse of corporate jargon that creates distance and mistrust; purpose statements that are words on a page rather than guides for behavior; and cultures that elevate individual stars at the expense of cohesive, high-performing teams. We also discuss why fast, open information flow is essential for adaptability and well-being. Phil and Jana also reconfirm our own understanding that well-being cannot be created through perks or programs—it emerges from how people are treated, trusted, and empowered, and how work is designed and decisions flow. For leaders who care about performance, well-being, and building more humane organizations, this episode offers practical insight into creating workplaces that truly thrive. A lawmaker introduced legislation to stop the practice, citing concerns about tax dollars leaving the state, though the plates have been available since 2002 and generate revenue for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. The conversation concluded with a story about a California man who lost $6,270 in cash, which was found and returned by a helpful neighbor. Jill's Trivia Quiz Jill hosted a Beverly Hillbillies trivia quiz, where she asked Terry and Keith questions about the show’s characters, plot details, and behind-the-scenes facts. Terry and Keith answered most of the questions correctly, revealing details like Granny’s first name (Daisy), the name of the bank (Commerce Bank of Beverly Hills), and the fact that Buddy Ebsen, who played Jed Clampett, was originally cast as the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz but had to drop out due to an allergic reaction to the makeup. Terry's Terry's top 10 list included various humorous events from February, including a groundhog predicting spring, heart-shaped pancakes gone wrong, and a cat stealing Valentine’s bouquets. The list of ten funny occurrences also contained, such as a smoke alarm interrupting a candlelit dinner and a penguin escaping its enclosure. Anchor Topic Keith discussed the use of computers and AI, including Copilot, for tasks like generating bird song lists and creating images. He emphasized that people with disabilities, such as blindness, can effectively use computers with tools like voiceover, JAWS, or Narrator. The group also discussed the importance of carefully prompting AI to ensure accurate and appropriate results. Email and Final Thoughts Following this, they read a listener’s email about a humorous encounter with Satan at a church, which Jill found amusing. Keith and Terry discussed a humorous email about a Texas state trooper who, while pulling over a magician, ended up juggling flares with the magician. They also talked about the location of Houston and the route of Interstate 10. Keith then played a voicemail message from a listener who shared a joke about a husband and wife visiting a therapist. The conversation concluded with Keith mentioning that listeners can send messages to their voicemail number. The final word from our AI companion The meeting was a comedy show featuring jokes and puns from Terry, Keith, and Jill. The hosts encouraged listeners to visit their website www.thatsoundsfunny.com to listen to past episodes, subscribe, and leave ratings and reviews. Dr. Mehmet Oz has raised serious concerns about the 'weaponization of fraud' within Minnesota's Medicaid system, estimating a staggering $100 billion in nationwide Medicaid fraud. Speaking on 'The Katie Miller Podcast,' Oz highlighted how political patronage and a lack of oversight contribute to the problem. He argues that the state's emphasis on enrolling more people in Medicaid, without proper vetting, diminishes resources for those truly deserving of assistance. Oz pointed to a purposeful lack of scrutiny within Minnesota's Department of Health and Human Services, alongside a gutted Medicaid audit program, as major contributors to this crisis. The implications of this fraud extend to the solvency of the Medicare trust fund, demanding immediate attention and reform to protect taxpayer dollars and ensure the program serves its intended purpose.

In this episode of Gangland Wire, host Gary Jenkins, retired Kansas City Police Intelligence Unit detective, steps outside traditional Mafia territory and into a shadowy world just as dangerous—and just as fascinating: the international theft of ultra-rare automobiles.  Gary is joined by author Stayton Bonner, former senior editor at Rolling Stone, and legendary car-recovery specialist Joe Ford, the real-life figure behind Bonner's book The Million Dollar Car Detective. At the center of the story is a breathtaking pre-World War II automobile—the Talbot-Lago Teardrop Coupé—once described as the most beautiful car in the world. Stolen from a Milwaukee industrialist's garage in 2001, the car vanished into the international underground of elite collectors, forged paperwork, and high-stakes deception. Joe Ford explains how he became the go-to investigator when rare cars worth millions disappear—and why stolen vehicles are far harder to recover than stolen art. What follows is a years-long global hunt involving disgruntled mechanics, fabricated titles, shell corporations, Swiss intermediaries, and a billionaire buyer now locked in civil litigation. Bonner adds rich historical context, tracing the car's glamorous past—from European aristocracy to Hollywood royalty—and exposing how loneliness, obsession, and greed often surround these legendary machines. The conversation expands into other notorious cases, including the disappearance of the original James Bond Aston Martin from Goldfinger, and how wealthy collectors sometimes knowingly harbor stolen artifacts. This episode is a true-crime story without guns or gangs—but filled with deception, betrayal, and the relentless pursuit of justice across borders. If you love investigative work, high-end crime, and stories that feel like James Bond meets Gone in 60 Seconds, this one's for you.

Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes spark a debate about timeless comedy, park characters, and the kind of physical gags that make queues feel alive. From there, we slide into Scooby‑Doo hijinks, SpongeBob's Bikini Bottom, and Bedrock's bronto‑size charm—proof that retro IP can still deliver modern magic. Gaming and anime icons raise the stakes: Mario's jump‑happy momentum, Pikachu's collect‑and‑trade culture, Sonic's speed run energy, and Hello Kitty's soft‑power merch. Each brings interactivity, replay value, and social fun that match how guests actually play parks today. We push beyond cartoons into cinematic sandboxes. Imagine a mid‑century Mad Men lounge with proper cocktails and impeccable woodwork. Picture Ghostbusters as a show‑driven effects playground, a Die Hard‑inspired tower drop with narrative beats, and a Jurassic World zone that sells scale without screen fatigue. Then we go epic: Middle‑earth as a multi‑land dream with the Shire's warmth, Rivendell's serenity, and Mordor's percussion and heat; Wizard of Oz for technicolor wonder and storm‑tossed transitions; Willy Wonka for edible illusions, fizzy‑lifting laughs, and music that hums through the pathways. Along the way we weigh Transformers, King Kong's Monarch universe, Hunger Games, Smurfs, Popeye, Garfield, Jetsons, and G.I. I want to hear your thoughts about the show and this episode. Text us here...Have you ever felt like your brain is a wildflower garden, gorgeous, full of potential, and also… a little untamed? In this episode of Casa De Confidence, Julie talks with nature-inspired mentor and certified coach Tigrilla Gardenia about what it really means to be a multi-passionate (aka a multipotentialite), and why “scattered” might be the most inaccurate label we've ever accepted.Together, they explore the powerful reframe, you're not scattered, you're living in an ecosystem, plus how plant intelligence, forest bathing, and “plantness” (presence) can help you find your deep pattern, trust your rhythm, and turn overwhelm into aligned action. You'll also hear about Damanhur in Northern Italy, the Temples of Humankind, and the surprising wisdom of plants when it comes to fear, intuition, and designing a life that flows. What you'll learn in this episode:What a multipotentialite is, and why it's not a problem to fixHow to find your through line, the deep pattern that connects your “random” interestsA simple way to tell the difference between curiosity and avoidanceWhat forest bathing is and how presence changes your stress responseWhat makes Damanhur feel like Hogwarts meets Oz, and how to explore itNotable moments:“You're not scattered. You're living in an ecosystem.”The “nature has no waste” realization, nothing about you is uselessThe truth about “Jack of all trades,” and why that phrase is… questionable at best“Plantness” as presence, not tuning out, but quieting to hear it allJulie's “I kill plants” identity shift, and how it reflected other relationshipsGuest Info (for show notes): Tigrilla Gardenia is a nature-inspired mentor and certified coach who supports multipassionates, divergent creatives, and soul rebels in aligning their ideas into action using plant wisdom, presence, and somatic, intuitive practices. She lives in Damanhur, a spiritual community in Northern Italy. If you've been told you're “too much,” too scattered, too sensitive, or Support the showOther helpful resources for you: For more about me and what I do, check out my website.
