Move - Eat - Re-energise - A CJ Rubric Project
In todays episode I have Darren Maroney and Greg Leitch back this week and we are going to do some Fitness Myth Busting • Fat being turned into muscle • Women looking like men when they lift weights • Why women should lift weights • Why strength training is just as important if not more important than cardio • Why Cardio is just as important if not more important than strength. • Why you shouldn’t do 1200 calorie per day diets? Plus we go on a rant about a trend we have seen about a ‘free’ challenge that actually can cost you $500 if you don’t get the results. Jump in, have a listen and if there is something you would like us to cover, please reach out to us on social media.
In todays episode I have Darren Maroney and Greg Leitch Back on show This would make Darren third episode. Episode 1 Episode 3 Episode 7 And Greg’s second. Episode 8 Today Darren takes the interview chair as Greg and I share our stories about depression. The things that have worked. How bad things got. What we do now to manage it. Plus so much more. It's called the Black Dog Episode because we wanted to keep the conversation going about depression and hopes people not only ask “Are you ok?” but also ask “What can I do to help you or what do you need from me right now” Let’s get into it.
Today’s episode is a little different due to being called away for a family emergency so I wanted to get something up quickly. This is an audio clip of a Facebook Live I did when Theo was born, If you would like to watch the video instead, head over to the blog and check it out. But it’s all about willpower and how we use it and more importantly, how you can recharge your willpower battery to show up and do all the things you NEED to do as a busy parent. Check it out and let me know what you think.
Today’s Doggie, Cheryl and I talk about running. In fact it’s an episode that was hugely popular when it first came out. So if you love running, want to love running or thinking of dabbling in a bit of pavement pounding. I highly recommend listening to this show… Enjoy
Today’s episode is another from the archive with Doggie and I talking about overreaching. Setting yourself up for the best success and gaining massive momentum. Knowing that momentum and consistency is key for long term success, this episode will have some gold nuggets for you to be able to keep showing up no matter what life throws at you.
In today’s episode I bring another one from the archives. This is episode one of the original CJ Rubric podcast with Doggie and Cheryl Over the next 10mins or so we chat about the STRESS CUP. I write about this in my daily emails quite often and it’s something that has been a powerful realisation for all my clients and whoever I teach it too. Let’s get into it.
In today’s episode, I catch up with Olivia Aughton. I know Liv through coaching and she is also good friends with Cat. Liv has gone through an amazing transformation and also juggled having a 1-2 year old bub, coaching an A grade netball side, doing F45 5 days a week and also staring in a local production of Chicago. While also working her day job full time. The reason why I think this interview is cool is because Liv mentions over and over again that building habits, skills and being super organised was the only way she can do all the stuff she is doing. Plus the focused time with your partner and kids could well be the biggest take away from it all. That’s enough from me….let’s get into Liv’s story and the amazing results she achieved along the way.
In today’s episode, I bring back an episode from the old CJ Rubric Podcast archives In it, I and Shannon and Cheryl from Lonedog MPE fame talk about the common phrase people say “I need to get fit before I start training” We chat about some experiences we have had, why some people would be struggling to get started and how to overcome the initial roadblocks to getting you moving closer to the best version of yourself. It’s a nice short one today, something you can do and take action on straight away….
In today’s episode I catch up with my amazing sister Sonya Forrest Sonya is a freelancer digital marketer, project manager and graphic designer who is self employed and mainly works from home. She works with small online businesses, entrepreneurs and public figures who are looking to grow their profile in the digital media landscape. In this episode we chat about: • How she transitioned from the corporate world to the work from home world. • How she juggled getting married and having a honeymoon while ramping up her online business. • How she structures her day to the most productive she can be while still getting her Move – Eat – Re-energise in… • How she uses checklists and tasks to make sure she gets everything done that she needs to and create real freedom…mental freedom • How she created an afternoon routine to ‘switch’ off from the day and how busy parents can do the same. • We discuss Sonya’s Hashimotos disease and how it has changed the way she trains, eats, works, and manages her stress. • How Sonya and I are opposites in the way we self-regulate our training and how both are super successful. • The one thing you can do every day to create ‘freedom’ in your life and in your brain to show up as the best version of you…
Today’s interview is a little different. The legend that is Sallee Carter has taken up the interviewer role and I am on the hot seat! We chat about how when I was a kid, I was my happiest only when being active and how I forgot this in my early 20’s Which lead to me becoming an Alcoholic that racked up crazy amounts of debt, lost a house and eventually led me to a phycologist the planted the seed about becoming a PT. We also go into the struggles I have had personally with addiction to pre workouts supplements, hard and intense training, being burned by a business partner and much more… It’s Sallee’s and my hope that this podcast episode give you some insight into how the CJ Rubric came to be and although we couldn’t cover everything This is a very raw and transparent insight into my past, present and what my hopes are for the future. Let’s get into it.
Today I’m sharing a short soundbite from a Facebook Live I did in 2017 when Theo was only 6 months old. In it, I talk about way I overcame my alcohol addiction which caused me to lose friends, family, a house and broke numerous relationships at the time… The tools I got taught are the same tools we use when trying to overcome food addictions or continuously falling off the wagon when it comes to our Strong, Lean and be more awesome plans. I mention in the podcast a few times the Get Lean Challenge, this no longer exists but if you would like to take our FREE 7-day video course which is the upgrade of the Get Lean Challenge. Head on over to www.thecjrubric.com and grab the Big 3 for Fat Loss Infographic. You will be gifted the 7-day course as a bonus. All right let’s get into it…
Today I catch up with Amalie Pearce, who is a Nutritionist, a trainer through Kangatraining and a lover of running.. However after Amalie had her first child with her partner Jason, she had some difficulties coming back into running, the activity she loves so much So much so, she couldn’t even stand up without peeing herself… Today Amalie shares her whole story to help get the word out that Peeing is common, but its not normal. There is help out there… Lets get into it. So let’s get into it shall we
This week I’m chatting with Greg Leitch of Real Bodies Fitness in Melbourne Greg has come from being in the corporate world, not feeling very fulfilled, having his weight creep up to 160kgs to losing 50+kgs, using running as his motivation, to becoming a PT and certified running coach where he is passing his knowledge and experience of being there and doing the work onto his clients. This is sure to inspire you and I can not wait for you to get into it….let’s roll…
This week I’m chatting with Darren Maroney again for the 3rd time We kick off with Darren sharing what he has learnt from his body temperature and food experiment and then we shift into how to quantify if what you are doing is working. We also do our best Tarantino and go off on a few tangents. I really enjoy these conversations with Darren but if you would like us to cover something specific, please shoot me a message on social media via our Facebook Page The CJ Rubric. Now let’s get into this weeks episode.
Today I’m catching up with Cheryl Schneider the other half of the powerhouse gym that is Lonedog MPE in Albury/Wodonga. Chez is not only a health coach but a super inspirational person to be around. She has come back from a debilitating autoimmune disease that prevented her from even being able to open doors to doing 7 ultra-marathons, 6 multiday running events and has become an incredible KB Sports Athlete who has represented Australia 3 times. I know a lot of listeners of this show and a lot of Lonedog Legends have asked for this story so let’s get into it….
Today Im catching up with Vaughaun Saunders from Sports & Spinal. Vaughan is a osteo in Albury/Wodonga and is all about helping people live their lives optimally. Whether its at home, in the office or on the sports field. In today’s episode we talk about back & neck pain, the 2 most common issues he sees. We also discuss a simple 3-4 steps guide to help you get the best out of seeing not only a Osteo, but any health practitioner.
Today I catch up with Shannon Pigdon, who is one half of the power couple behind Lonedog MPE, the local gym that I work for. Shannon is a highly qualified personal training & coach who travels the world competing in KB Sports and taking courses to further his knowledge He is also probably the top KB, TRX and Trigger point instructor in Australia…meaning he basically coaches personal trainers on how to be better personal trainers. Shannon and the Lonedog community are great personal friends of mine as they are one of the big reasons I stayed in the industry during a very tough time in my life which I will always be super grateful for.. That’s enough from me….let’s get into it.
