Keep your head about you
I had to interview my friend in the program Forest as soon as he surfaced again. He went back out, entertained some romantic notions about the Jack Kerouac Darma Bums drinking and hiking life before coming back to this reality, this moment. This sober moment. We do a deep dive into the nature of the alcoholic mind, then beginner's mind and all the other places, good and bad, our minds go all the time/ I really appreciate Forest. We've known each other as long as known almost anyone in sobriety and I was really worried about him during the 3 months he remained holed up and drinking. Very thankful he's back and meditating and going to meetings. Right where he should be. Keep your head about you.
I sit down with my friend Monty to talk about meth, HVAC and bed bugs.
Mike has been a friend through much of my trek through BrainInjuryLand. I had no idea we had so much in common in our BI experiences. This one is a bit long but if you gotta head owie, you could do worse than listening.
I sit down with Chris and talk about the Program, detoxing in London and the 21st century woman in recovery.
I sit down with Tarra C, my friend in recovery and the first interview I've done with a woman in recovery. As Tarra C says at the end, boom, this was fun!
I sit down with my friend in recovery Jason H.
I sit down with my friend and mentor Tom H. I have always said my family was the reason I got sober. Tom H. and my sponsor Dan K. showed me how to build a life in sobriety worth living.
A conversation with Anne Hupka. Anne is the mother of a brain injury survivor of 17 years and is an advocate for BI survivors through organizing meetings of Omaha survivors. Anne also spent the last portion of her career advocating in her professional capacity as a registered nurse.
I confer, compostulate and confabulate with my good friend and fellow scrivener Todd R.
I talk with my friend Richard Muto. Richard is a resource facilitator for the Brain Injury Association of Rhode Island and facilitates several brain injury support groups both in-person and on Zoom. He is also an Aquarius.
I Zoom it up with my cousin and TBI survivor Jen Pope
I sit down with my friend in recovery and fellow Wheelchair pusher Forrest K.
I sit down and talk sobriety with my man Greg S.
I sit down with my mentor, AA sponsor and all around great guy and great friend Dan K for a little storytelling.
