Neil talks about his time with Dee Anthony, one of the most iconic music managers in the 70's

Rick Derringer convinced me to take the job as road manager for Edgar Winters White Trash. At first I said no. “Rick I want to be the drummer” I told him. He explained that the band was made up of old friends and that being the drummer was not an option.

The average winter snowfall in Buffalo New York is 93 inches. It was early January and the weather forecast was ominous. Paul and Ashley, the roadies for Edgar Winters White Trash, packed the bands gear in a rental truck and left New York City a full two days before the gig.

Edgar Winter was a full albino. He was tall and lanky with shoulder-length blond hair, red eyes and very light white skin. If I hadn’t met his brother Johnny, it would have been shocking...

I was playing in a folk rock group called Talbots Bus. There were four of us in the band. Tony on electrified acoustic guitar, Betty his girlfriend on vocals, Billy Parker on bass and I played drums. We were students at the University of Vermont. Part time musicians but all open to the possibility of a career in the music business.
