Kristen Zaza and Leete Stetson are two pals who decided to watch Quantum Leap and podcast about it a bunch.
Leete Stetson and Kristen Zaza
Sam leaps into 1970, where he and his ailing grandfather Joseph have to escape the police. As Shoshone people, they want to get Joseph back to their reservation where he can die in peace. Leete and Kristen may or may not get trapped in a musical theatre loop again, somehow. Don’t worry about it. CW: Discussion of scenes involving racism.
We watched “Her Charm”, where Sam leaps into an FBI agent protecting a woman from a vengeful drug lord. Of course he fallsies in lovesies (againsies). Leete and Kristen are especially silly. Please like us.
We’re talking S02E14, where Sam leaps into a promising young football player who has to help his best friend’s family overcome financial and emotional hardship by him getting a football scholarship. Also, there are some very confused/confusing cheerleaders in this episode. Hmm. CW: Discussion of a brief scene involving sexual assault/harassment.
Sam leaps into the place of a mother of three, and he’s on a mission to save his son from a terrible tragedy. There are some ridiculous 80s teens, too. Leete and Kristen are obsessed with the very silly music in this episode. CW: Discussion of scenes involving kidnapping/sexual predators targeting children.
Kristen and Leete watched Season 2, Episode 12 - Animal Frat. Sam leaps into a college kid who has to stop a disaster at school. And boy, are his frat brothers ridiculous. Is this what college is? Were we ever so young?
Sam leaps into a parapsychologist, and he’s got to solve a mystery of a seemingly restless ghost. We talk all things supernatural. Leete gets skeptical. Kristen gets defensive. We rank the sexiness of different Frankenstein’s monsters. It’s a spooky party over here. CW: Discussion of Gaslighting, Murder and Suicide.
Heads up - this episode features two theatre people talking about the theatre episode of Quantum Leap. Sam leaps into an understudy for the lead role in a production of Man of La Mancha. There is a lot of singing in this episode. Of Quantum Leap, and the podcast. Look out.
Sam leaps into a lawyer in the 50s, fighting against racism and injustice. Kristen and Leete are diving back into Quantum Leap. (And Kristen has an eye twitch. Can you hear it?) CW: Discussion of Racism, Sexual Assault, and Violent Murder.
Kristen and Leete decided to skip watching this episode of Quantum Leap, and discuss why. What else do they talk about? Oh, you know, pretty much EVERYTHING. It’s a free play episode! What fun!
Sam’s got himself into another tricky situation, when he leaps into a rabbi in 1974 whose brother is having trouble coming to terms with the death of his son. Can Sam repair the damage that’s been done to this family? CW: Grief, infidelity.
Sam leaps into a radio DJ in 1959, and there is a war raging against Rock and/or Roll! Only Sam can save the day! And make a lady fall in love with him, as always! Also, we have a serious contender for the Golden Shoehorn award in this one.
Sam leaps into a blind concert pianist who has to perform at Carnegie Hall…and solve a MURDER?! And patch up a mother and daughter’s relationship. And hoodwink a dog.
Sam leaps into 1961, and experiences life as a woman for the first time. Al can’t hide his attraction to this new Sam. They both have to keep Sam’s roommate from doing something desperate for the love of a married man. Leete thinks Kristen’s jokes are very funny. (CW: Discussion of a scene with attempted suicide.)
Sam leaps into 1953, and trades place with a sailor named Charlie, who comes home from Japan with his new wife, Machiko. They face prejudice within the town and his own family. This was another tough one to watch. But, among all the terrible drama, why was there still time for a barnyard sex romp? What is going on?? Content Warning: Discussion of racism and racist acts/behaviour.
Sam leaps into a stuntman who has a tortured, musical brother. The tortured, musical brother has an angry, bitter father. They all work on a movie set where no one has any idea how to shoot a movie. And Kristen and Leete have little patience for it.
It’s a new season, and Sam has got himself in trouble again! He’s on a train with his new bride…or rather, Tom McBride’s bride. Ethics come in to play, and Al is no help at all. The validity of the Quantum Leap project is being questioned. Kristen and Leete have no answers, but they’re having fun?
Dun dun dun DUUUUHHH - It’s the Oh Boysies! We discuss the best of the best, the worst of the worst, and the Scottiest of the Bakulas. Who wins? Who loses? Has Kristen been shrunk by a sorcerer and trapped in a small glass bottle? (On an unrelated note, apologies for the technical difficulties resulting in Kristen sounding like she’s been shrunk and trapped in a small glass bottle.)
This episode features Sam leaping into a detective in 1953, who for some reason looks like Humphrey Bogart. He also falls desperately in love with a lady from the past, and has a nerdy sidekick. But, most importantly: who is the Dropper named Clapper?!
Sam leaps into 1961, and into the body of a young man who has to stop his sister from marrying a really terrible guy. This episode includes drag racing, Jason Priestley, and an ending that leaves Kristen and Leete pretty darn speechless. (And yet, they keep talking about it. Huh.)
In this episode, Sam leaps into the South in 1955, where he experiences racism through the eyes of an older black gentleman. We’re going to be honest, this was a really tough one to watch. But we also talk about tasty, tasty egg salad sandwiches. Can we make some eggs? I’m going to go make some eggs. Brb. CW: Discussion of racism; descriptions of racist events/actions that occur on this episode of Quantum Leap.
In this episode, Kristen and Leete tune in as Sam leaps into 1965 (and a whole lot of mafia drama). He also gets to show off his excellent singing skills.
A bizarre competition on a farm. A very tense game of poker. A delightful pig named Piggy. Kristen and Leete go on a journey with Sam and Al to Texas in the 50’s.
Well, Sam leaps into the body of a boxer in this episode…but really it’s all about his adorable girlfriend, Dixie. Why didn’t Dixie win the Oscar? Why didn’t Dixie win the Emmy? Why isn’t Dixie Kristen and Leete’s best friend? All questions that won’t be addressed in this episode. Enjoy!
Romeo and Juliet. Lancelot and Guinevere. Bakula and Hatcher. Romance is in the air on this episode of Quantum Leap, and Leete and Kristen are having none of it. Listen to this podcast when the moon crests over Camelot, and - oh, just forget it.
Can Sam fly that plane and save the day? Will Tim Fox hit a home run? Is Mikey a ghost? Leete and Kristen find the answers to all this and more as they watch the second part of the Quantum Leap Pilot.
Kristen and Leete “fly” in to Quantum Leap by watching the first half of the “pilot” episode: Genesis, Part 1. In case you haven’t noticed, this episode is about an airplane pilot. Get it? “Fly”? “Pilot”?
Leete and Kristen have a quick chat before sitting down to watch the pilot episode of Quantum Leap. What lies in store for these two dorks? Stay tuned for the podcast's launch on Friday, January 4th, 2019, to find out!
