Mon. June 8th/26 Join Me LIVE tonight from 6pm-8pm EST on The Angel Rock With Lorilei Potvin, as I welcome back Special Guest, Brad Burkholder. Brad Burkholder is a 71 poet, author and retired English professor, began seeing a trance channel in 1996 because of a problematic relationship. The channelled spirit, Ramoth, explained that he had been in painful relationships with this woman in at least two past lives when she had been Fanny Brawne and Maud Gonne, and he had been her poet suitors. The spirit brought together the channel, three other clients and Brad. They all had prominent past lives that had intersected many times in history--the American Civil War, William Wallace's insurrection, the Norman invasion, Roland's battle with the Moors, Camelot, the time of Jesus, and the Trojan War. Together with Brad, they learned that they were one of twelve such groups, apparently preparing the way for a new age. They were tasked with combatting the Gray aliens in April 2000, with visiting southern England together later that year and with combatting Satanists, also that year. Afterward, they ceased to function as a group but still remain friends. Brad delayed writing this book until after his retirement for fear of losing his career and retirement income. This month on Magus we're discussing maybe the most influential wizard of all time, and a true original - it's only flippin' Merlin! We track his development through prehistory via the archetype of the "Lord of Ecstasy" - a deific entity who appears in mythologies from all over the world. In addition to exploring his British precedents in the form of the Northern and Scots Lowland wild man of the woods Lailoken and the Welsh version of that same character in the form of Myrddin Wyllt, we also marinade ourselves in the swell of "Arthurian" stories that rose and sloshed about across the Medieval era. After he's given the name 'Merlinus' by Geoffrey of Monmouth though, Merlin becomes central to not just tales of Camelot but the propaganda of a slew of European kings. We track how, across the British Isles, his identity continues to twist and mutate - befitting the Latin title of his forebears, homo silvaticus. Though at the same time, across the English Channel, the French and central European courts thought of Merlin as one of the great masters of 'Natural Magic.' Born of a demon and a virgin princess, to alchemists and occultists from Cornelius Agrippa to the Brotherhood of the Golden Dawn he was the first building block of an extensive and rigorous magical system which offered proponents God-like powers to shape reality. From Thomas Malory to Alfred Lord Tennyson, J.R.R. Tolkien to the Disney corporation, he is a cultural emblem whose meaning has only continued to shapeshift.Which is only appropriate really, when you think about it...Speak with you again on Thursday for another triple-bill of fairy tales and chats about them with The Ratcatcher and The True History of Little Golden Hood and The Three Dwarfs!Thumbnail cover art for this episode features "Volkhv" by Andrey Shishkin.Three Ravens is an English myth and folklore podcast hosted by Eleanor Conlon and Martin Vaux.Released on Mondays, each weekly episode focuses on one of England's 39 historic counties, exploring the history, folklore and traditions of the area, from ghosts and mermaids to mythical monsters, half-forgotten heroes, bloody legends, and much, much more. Then, and most importantly, the pair take turns to tell a new version of an ancient story from that county - all before discussing what that tale might mean, where it might have come from, and the truths it reveals about England's hidden past...Bonus Episodes are released on Thursdays plus Local Legends episodes on Saturdays - interviews with acclaimed authors, folklorists, podcasters and historians with unique perspectives on that week's county. With a range of exclusive content on Patreon, too, including audio ghost tours, the Three Ravens Newsletter, and monthly Three Ravens Film Club episodes about folk horror films from across the decades, why not join us around the campfire and listen in?REGISTER FOR THE TALES OF SOUTHERN ENGLAND TOURVisit our website Join our Patreon Social media channels and sponsors Hosted on Acast. Chaosium is reviving the iconic The Great Pendragon Campaign for the 6th edition of the Pendragon tabletop RPG, originally created by Greg Stafford. Known for exploring 80 years of Arthurian legend, the updated campaign will be released in multiple volumes over two years, starting with Pendragon: The Boy King in August 2026. This first entry covers nearly twenty in-game years during King Uther Pendragon’s reign, focusing on a period of chaos and civil war that sets the path for Camelot’s rise. The new version is built upon notes and updates drafted by Stafford before his passing, aiming to integrate his complete vision of Arthurian Britain. MCDM has launched a free alpha playtest for their upcoming Crows tabletop RPG, a survival horror dungeon crawler set in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world. The game, influenced by the OSR style, casts players as “Crows” searching for treasure in ancient ruins. Key mechanics emphasize survival and attrition, featuring equipment-driven character design, treasure-based advancement (where experience is gained from bringing loot back to town), and a central slot-based inventory system. Magic is unpredictable and lethal, combat is fast and dangerous, and time in the dungeon is tracked using Dungeon Turns and usage dice for resources. The playtest is centered on the multi-level “Blood Library” adventure, and players are asked to submit feedback before June 29th, 2026. MÖRK BORG Heresy Supreme, the first video game adaptation of the apocalyptic MÖRK BORG tabletop RPG, is now available in Early Access. This is a side-scrolling action RPG featuring “souls-like” combat that is brutal, slow, and requires careful timing, where death is a constant element. The game’s premise involves a desperate attempt to stall the Apocalypse in a cursed, dark fantasy world. The developers plan to keep the game in Early Access for six months to a year, and they are actively engaging the player community to help shape future features, including voting on the next playable Class. Venger's Decks has released the physical edition of The Chaos Card Deck TTRPG, a complete, rules-light, card-based system designed for zero-prep tabletop adventuring. The game's main appeal is its extreme portability and accessibility, using a single tarot-sized deck to handle mechanics for character creation, session generation, and on-the-fly monster encounters. The Chaos supports both solo and group play through a simple structural loop (The Keep, The Realm, return) that accommodates fluctuating player counts. The physical release, which is intended as a tactile upgrade over the free digital rules, also includes downloadable assets like high-definition battle maps and printable character sheets. #pendragon #crowsrpg #morkborg #vengerdecks Mork Borg: Heresy Supreme: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3216800/MRK_BORG_Heresy_Supreme/ https://www.morbidwaregames.com/ Pendragon Campaign: https://www.chaosium.com/blogpendragon-the-boy-king-the-epic-ttrpg-campaign-returns/ MCDM Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/mcdm Chaos Cards: https://thechaosttrpg.com/products/the-chaos-card-deck-tabletop-roleplaying-game Demonic Grimoire on Backkit: https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/exalted-funeral/old-school-essentials-demonic-grimoire Hellblaster: Against the Cyberfiend: https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/bloodstar-productions/hellblaster-against-the-cyberfiends Warmachine on MyMiniFactory: https://mmf.io/upturned Mantic Companion App: https://companion.manticgames.com/ Use our Referral code: MCTXEE Support Us by Shopping on DTRPG (afilliate link): https://www.drivethrurpg.com?affiliate_id=2081746 Matt’s DriveThruRPG Publications: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse.php?author=Matthew%20Robinson https://substack.com/@matthewrobinson3 Chris on social media: https://hyvemynd.itch.io/ Jeremy's Links: http://www.abusecartoons.com/ http://www.rcharvey.com Support Us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/upturnedtable Give us a tip on our livestream: https://streamlabs.com/upturnedtabletop/tip Donate or give us a tip on Paypal: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/2754JZFW2QZU4 Intro song is “Chips” by KokoroNoMe https://kokoronome.bandcamp.com/

April 24, 2026 - Equipped 2026 - Day 2 - 11:00 AM Session   Join hosts Kathy Pollard and Carla Moore live from the Cumberland Trace Church of Christ "Equipped" workshop for an encouraging episode of the Looking Up podcast, recorded in front of a group of women studying the book of Genesis. In this episode they mix warm fellowship and personal updates—including a shout-out to attendee Jennifer Eskew (who traveled from Alaska) and joyful family pregnancy announcements—with a thoughtful study on worship and the opening chapters of Scripture. The conversation centers on the theme that God made us to worship. Kathy and Carla explore early examples of worship in Genesis—Cain and Abel's offerings, Noah's altar after the flood, and Abraham's sacrifice in Genesis 22 (the first time the word worship appears)—and highlight how our view of God shapes true worship. They unpack Hebrew worship terms like shakah (bowing down), hallel (praise), and yadah (lifting hands) and connect those postures and words to Psalms and New Testament teaching about sincere, God-centered praise. The hosts contrast the two creation accounts in Genesis 1 and 2: chapter 1 presents God as Elohim, the mighty Creator who speaks the cosmos into being with powerful commands, while chapter 2 portrays Yahweh Elohim as intimate and hands-on—forming man, breathing life, planting the garden, and building woman from Adam's rib. These differing portraits reveal both God's majesty and his desire for a close, covenant relationship with humanity. Kathy and Carla also use a vivid analogy—comparing Eden to the idyllic Camelot—to illustrate how God's original design was perfect, how sin shattered that harmony, and how the rest of Scripture unveils God's plan to restore fellowship with His people. They remind listeners that nothing took God by surprise and that redemption is woven throughout the story of the Bible. Practical application rounds out the episode: the hosts offer tangible ways to prepare your heart for worship (prepare the night before, choose a psalm, pray in the morning or in the shower, sing on the drive to church, and even lift your chest to change your posture and attitude). They read and reflect on Psalm 95—calling listeners to come before God with joy, thanksgiving, and an unhardened heart—and discuss how worship brings rest and renewal both now and ultimately in God's promised dwelling with His people. Expect a warm, conversational episode that blends biblical teaching (Genesis 1–3, 4, 8, 22; Psalm 95; Lamentations 3:41 and New Testament references), Hebrew word insights, personal stories, and simple, faith-building practices to help listeners reclaim joyful, heartfelt worship in everyday life. Closing line: "Until next time, He will be known."   Duration 40:57

Movie Roulette Tuesday: The Podcast

Send us Fan MailWe've got another new theme this week and this time we will be delving into "movies that could not be made today".  There could be various social, technical, political or other reasons why but regardless, these will be movies that would not see the light of day in our modern times.Up first we have the Arthurian legend fever-dream that is 1981's Excalibur.  Featuring appearances by Patrick Stewart, Liam Neeson, Helen Mirren and starring Nigel Terry as Arthur we have Merlin the magician helping Arthur Pendragon unite the Britons around the Round Table of Camelot, even as dark forces conspire to tear it apart.  This one is a weird one that would most likely not be made today for a variety of reasons that we get into.We talk about all kinds of other things as usual so sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

Show Notes Episode 525: On Second Thought, Let's Not Go to Camelot This week host Dave Bledsoe ruined a bar trivia night by drunkenly shouting “wasn't in the form of a question” every time until they threw him out. (He doesn't even watch Jeopardy.) On the show this week we talk about JFK's time in office, from the political to the poonhound.  (Google recognized poonhound, that's awesome.) Along the way we discover the reason why Dave can't form meaningful relationships. (Perhaps his drinking problem?) Then we really do dive into JFK as a politician.  (There is a LOT to cover this week!) From the Bay of Pigs to the Cuban Missile Crisis, to the Vienna Summit we examine his foreign policy.  Domestically, we mostly talk about all the side pieces he had.  (Dude had a lot!) We learn that the whole “Camelot” thing was created after his death to hide how horny he was. Finally, we set the stage for Dallas.  (Which we will cover in detail next episode.) May 16, 2026Today's Reading: Introit for Easter 7 - Psalm 27:1, 11a, 12; antiphon: Psalm 27:7a, 8b, 9aDaily Lectionary: Numbers 13:1-3, 17-33; Luke 18:1-17“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. Some of our favorite stories are filled with majestic, mighty, and magnificent castles. Think of Hogwarts Castle in Harry Potter. Cair Paravel in The Chronicles of Narnia. Minas Tirith or Helm's Deep in The Lord of the Rings. Camelot in the tales of King Arthur. And the list could go on.The true story of the Scripture features a majestic, mighty, magnificent castle as well. Only it's not found in the palaces of Persia. Not atop the bulwarks of Babylon or standing watch in the strong towers of Tyre and Sidon. You won't find it guarding Galilee or even within the gates of Jerusalem. In fact, it's not even a building at all, but a body born of the Virgin Mary.Yes, Holy Scripture has a castle. And that castle is Christ. When you sing, read, or pray Psalm 27, you are confessing what the Scriptures declare time and time again. Christ is our temple. Our dwelling place. Our shelter from the storm. Our safe haven. Our rock and refuge. Our strong house upon the rock. Jesus is your stronghold of salvation. When John sees the holy city, Jerusalem above, in Revelation, there is no temple there, for the Lamb is the temple and light and life. And the Lamb of God is also Christ our Castle. And this is no fairytale kind of Castle or King. Christ, our King and Castle, spreads his Kingdom all over the kingdoms of this world, wherever his saints gather to hear and receive his Gifts in word, water, Body and Blood.Jesus is the stronghold of your life and of his church. You're built upon and rest in the solid rock of Christ who rested on the wood of the cross and rolled the stone away for you. The pillars and timbers and arches of his church are sealed and secure by his Body and Blood. So, when you enter the gates of the Lord's house tomorrow, dine at his table, and feast as a welcomed guest, you will sing, “The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?” This psalm, like all the psalms ultimately, is about Jesus. Your church is his castle where he rules and reigns in grace and mercy for you. There, Jesus is your King of kings and Castle of castles. He is our mighty fortress. A bulwark never failing. Jesus is the stronghold of your life, now and forever. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.Thee will I love, my strength, my tower; Thee will I love, my hope, my joy. Thee will I love with all my power, With ardor time shall ne'r destroy. Thee will I love, O Light divine, So long as life is mine. (LSB 694:1)Rev. Support us on Patreon---Just over one thousand years ago, an unknown scribe committed to vellum a fantastical tale of swordsmen and sea monsters, set not in contemporary Anglo-Saxon England, but instead in the distant swamps of Denmark, hundreds of years in the past and hundreds of miles away. In doing so, they would open a portal to one of the most mysterious and murky periods of European history. In this episode of Gladio Free Europe, Liam and Russian Sam return to the mighty mead-halls of the Migration Era for a discussion of Beowulf, the greatest work of Old English and one of the most fascinating documents of the early medieval world. The poem is effectively without parallel. It is a full-length heroic narrative written in Old English, whose eponymous protagonist is attested nowhere else. Though other works in this genre had been created, its sole survival and rediscovery made it the national epic of the English people, often compared to Homer's Iliad in both theme and content. As it was popularized in the early 19th century, the poem became useful to British, German, and even Danish nationlists who sought to use their ancient and medieval heritage to justify present-day political ambitions. But Beowulf does not belong to any existing society. Instead, it is an early medieval document of an idealized antiquity, possibly analogous to the role of King Arthur's Camelot to later medieval Englishmen. Beowulf provides a unique view into the Anglo-Saxon imaginary, illustrating how a deeply Christian population reckoned with their pagan past, and how the insular descendants of North Sea migrants understood their relationship to an ancestral home. But beyond its anthropological value, Beowulf is a mature reflection on ephemerality and loss. The setting, Heorot, is the most glorious of mead-halls, yet the audience knows from the start that it shall one day burn. Beowulf and King Hrothgar are the best of men, yet even their virtues cannot prevent the ruin caused by mankind's own doomed nature. The concept of wyrd, fate, features prominently in the poem. Despite not having a direct influence on the culture of high medieval and early modern England, Beowulf has profoundly shaped contemporary English literature. Its heroic narrative, prefiguring chivalric romance and King Arthur stories by several centuries, would inspire the career of J.R.R. Tolkien and shape the contemporary understanding of early medieval Northern Europe. Comparative studies with Norse and German literary works help us understand more fully the cold, courageous, and sometimes cruel world of early Germanic-speaking peoples. Most importantly, it is one of the most engaging and entertaining pieces of early fiction. Everybody, whether a proud Sea-Geat or a descendant of Cain, ought to read Beowulf.

Mark Richards (1953–) is a convicted murderer serving life without parole in California State Prison, SolanoWikipedia's W.svg at Vacaville, California.[1] He prefers to be known as "Captain" Richards, although he never served in the military. After graduating from high school in 1971, he attended the College of Marin and then graduated from Dominican College in San Rafael in 1976. He has spun multiple bizarre yarns about his service in the so-called "Secret Space Program" battling alien forces, in addition to his imaginary service in the US NavyInvestigation by a journalist from the Marin Independent Journal revealed a dimension to the murder that was literally incredible. The writer, Erik Ingram, reported that behind the Baldwin murder "may be a secret organization, called Pendragon, that appeared to be planning an armed takeover of Marin." Ingram reported that police detectives had retrieved from Richards' home maps, aerial photographs of Marin County, plans for a laser-gun, instructions for the construction of machine-guns, and "notebooks containing references to a new form of government." He wrote that behind the Baldwin murder "may be a secret organization, called Pendragon, that appeared to be planning an armed takeover of Marin."In the weeks that followed, a number of witnesses came forward with stories indicating that the Pendragon group in fact existed. Crossie Hoover told investigators that one of the inducements to the murder was Richards' promise to appoint him Duke of Angel's Island. It appears that Richards fantasized about converting Marin County into a version of King Arthur's Camelot, with himself as King. He allegedly promoted plans in meetings with his workers to take over Marin County by destroying the Golden Gate and Richmond-San Rafael bridges and placing a laser gun on top of Mount Tamalpais. Carl Shapiro, a San Anselmo attorney representing Richards, asserted that the documents found by the police were research materials for a science-fiction book (Imperial Marin) that Richards was writing. The prosecution countered that regardless of Richards's writing, he used the Pendragon material to manipulate Hoover into committing the murder. Starting in November 2013, Richards became a major source for conspiracy theorist Kerry Cassidy. On that date Cassidy conducted a 1h 18m video interview[2] at the prison in Vacaville. Cassidy regards Richards as an important whistleblower exposing the "Secret Space Program." She has said that he was framed for the Baldwin murder, and that he is imprisoned by the Illuminati-Draco run planetary government.[3][note 1] At the time of writing Cassidy says she has conducted nine interviews with Richards, for an aggregate time over 14 hours. Since recording devices are not allowed in the prison, the normal format of these videos is Cassidy speaking to camera recalling what was said immediately after her meeting with the convict. Her tenth Interview with Richards was released in March, 2019.Much of the material consists of tales of personal heroism, as Richards commands exotic space battleships fighting and defeating aliens. He commanded an Orion battleship at the asteroid Vesta in August 1979. Soon after that, he led an attack against aliens to reclaim a secret base at Dulce, New Mexico. The aliens had violated a treaty and abducted humans for experimentation.[4]Richards claims that he was on active duty at the age of 13, with a high security clearance. After graduating from high school, Richards said he became an Army officer flying helicopters in Vietnam and later became a Navy Captain. He also claims to be a Rhodes Scholar with several advanced degrees and to be a member at the highest levels of the Republican National Committee. Neither Cassidy or Richards have provided documentation to support his claims.[5]Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

What does it mean to truly show up when someone you love has died? Not to observe from a distance, not to hand everything off to strangers — but to stay close, use your hands, and do something rather than have something done.In this episode, three stories. A man who handed a death doula a list of names and died four days later, trusting that his people would figure it out. A family who drove through the Montana night with their father, racing a clock, doing the last thing they could do for him. And two daughters who discovered, somewhere around midnight, that they were braver than they knew.Underneath, they are the same story. About presence over passivity. About love made tangible. This episode opens with Alfred Lord Tennyson's The Lady of Shalott. The stanzas used:It was the closing of the day: She loos'd the chain, and down she lay; The broad stream bore her far away, The Lady of Shalott.A gleaming shape she floated by, Dead-pale between the houses high, Silent into Camelot. The paintings referenced are John William Waterhouse's The Lady of Shalott — 1888, 1894, and 1915. Fred Talley here from Faith Pest Control, right here in our beautiful corner of North Georgia. If you're like me, you're already looking forward to those long summer days and the community spirit that makes Jasper such a special place to call home. Charity Camelot-Fest is returning to Jasper this June! A Weekend of Medieval Magic in Our Own Backyard Mark your calendars for June 20 and 21, 2026. The festival will be held right here at the Chattahoochee Tech Conference Center (100 Campus Dr.). This isn’t just your average weekend outing; it's a full-blown trip back to the days of King Arthur. We're talking about: Live Knights and Performers: You'll see roaming bards, stage acts, and maybe even a wizard or two wandering through the crowd. RIP David Wilcock: Defending him from Posthumous Conspiracies (April 23, 2026)

The Secret Teachings

After covering David Wilcock for over a decade---focusing on his fake prophecies and channellings, his promises of ascension and hover cars, his fraudulent aerospace company, and other outrageous claims that never came true---we have learned that he died by self-inflicted gunshot wound. Several of his critics have been blamed for his death, despite these people being the ones pointing out his delusion and trying to get him help. Even offering direct assistance. On the other hand, his 'love and light' followers have smelled the blood in the water like a shark and are, in the most unhinged ways fathomable, gleefully exploiting his death for clicks, donations, and delusional conspiracy theories. Even extremely popular alternative media have used the story to advance their own agenda. It appears there are many people who didn't know anything about him, but who are doing the same thing. We never wished David harm, although we pointed out that he was close to the breaking point for years. The worst we wished for him was that he faced karmic retribution for his destructive delusions, i.e., everything that he gained while selling falsehood would be taken away. Interestingly, David appeared to personally realize this in the end. He acknowledged that he was facing karma, that he was not talking to an archangel or an ancient deity from Egypt, nor did mass arrests occur, or full alien disclosure the way that he fantasized it to occur. He appeared to even recognize that his aerospace company was a scam. Being too prideful and egotistic, he still played it down despite the obvious mental crisis visible on the surface. He spent considerable time on each of his shows talking about how it is hard to push forward each day. His substance use, perhaps abuse, coupled with the decimation of his life's work, and the even more delusional followers that kept amplifying his instability and financing it, all contributed to his demise. It appears in the end, with no humor intended, that the truth killed him. The truth that he was wrong, and because he was wrong and didn't admit it, he continued to pour his remaining money and hope into fraud--inside knowing that he messed up. According to police dispatch, he said that he ran out of money. He took the only option that he felt that he had. In the end, it appears that David probably would have enjoyed his name being at the center of a UFO, anti-gravity, conspiracy. Thus, we are not defending David by putting words in his mouth. We are defending his actual words and behavior. Perhaps we can give him that as he rests in peace.THIS EPISODE CAN BE VIEWED WITH ZERO MONETIZATION ON YOUTUBE: https://youtube.com/watch?v=IT_Ns16gt1o&t=380shttps://bouldercounty.gov/news/death-investigation-near-ridge-road/ https://content.govdelivery.com/bulletins/gd/COBOULDER-41420b3 https://openmhz.com/system/codtrs5?filter-type=group&filter-code=693b5d40ccee41c1926e7baa&time=1776695400000*The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. Meet my friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping four takeaways. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Preventable Crime Deaths Trump pauses the cabinet meeting to reference the killing of Sheridan Gorman, the 18‑year‑old college student murdered in Chicago by an illegal immigrant. Clay and Buck then detail another shocking case out of New York City involving 83‑year‑old Air Force veteran Richard Williams, who was shoved to his death on subway tracks by an illegal immigrant who had been deported multiple times and had an extensive criminal record. The hosts stress that both crimes were entirely preventable and argue that sanctuary policies are directly responsible. Buck explains that these incidents are not happening in high‑crime zones but in places traditionally considered safe—such as the Upper East Side of Manhattan—demonstrating how far the problem has spread. Clay and Buck argue Democrats refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities even when dealing with violent repeat offenders, choosing ideology over public safety. They stress that illegal immigrants who commit crimes should never be shielded from deportation and that the murder rate of Americans by illegal immigrants should be zero. Manipulating the System Investigative journalist Alex Berenson, who joins the program to discuss what Clay calls one of the most enraging crime stories of the year: a horrific Seattle case involving a repeat violent offender who allegedly murdered an elderly woman during a carjacking and then stabbed her dog to death, only to have his prosecution delayed indefinitely due to claims of mental incompetence. Berenson explains how the suspect, an eight‑time convicted felon with a long criminal record, is now repeatedly cycling between jail and a forensic psychiatric hospital, allegedly stopping his medication to claim incompetency and avoid trial. Berenson contrasts this with another highly publicized Seattle murder in which a man allegedly executed a pregnant woman in her car and was later allowed to plead not guilty by reason of insanity—potentially avoiding permanent incarceration altogether. The discussion highlights what Berenson and the hosts see as a broken system that fails to permanently remove clearly dangerous individuals from society, even when guilt is not meaningfully disputed. The Only Sane Democrat Clay and Buck play audio from a pro‑Iran and pro‑Hamas rally in Philadelphia, where speakers openly cheered the deaths of U.S. soldiers. They contrast that rhetoric with comments from Senator John Fetterman, who sharply criticizes his own party for being “held hostage by the far left,” condemns the DHS shutdown, and highlights the real‑world suffering of TSA agents who have gone six weeks without paychecks. The hosts discuss how devastating such a pay gap would be for most American families and argue that Democrats are deliberately inflicting airport chaos and financial pain on federal workers as leverage to block immigration enforcement. The conversation grows more urgent with breaking news that an improvised explosive device was discovered at MacDill Air Force Base, home to U.S. Central Command and Special Operations Command. Authorities link the incident to Iran‑inspired extremism, adding to a string of recent attempted terror attacks across the country. Clay and Buck argue that this makes the DHS shutdown—and weakened airport security—especially indefensible at a moment of elevated threat. Kennedy Murder/Suicide? Journalist and New York Times bestselling author Maureen Callahan dishes on the explosive popularity of the Ryan Murphy‑produced JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Hulu series, questioning why the show has captured such a large audience—particularly women—and whether its depiction of the Kennedy legacy is fundamentally dishonest. Maureen Callahan, author of Ask Not and host of The Nerve, offers a blistering critique of the Kennedy mythology, arguing that the series whitewashes a deeply dysfunctional family history and obscures decades of documented abuses, narcissism, and media manipulation. She traces how the “Camelot” myth persists despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary and explains why Hollywood continues to rehabilitate the Kennedy brand. The conversation intensifies when Callahan lays out her controversial theory regarding the death of John F. Kennedy Jr., asserting—based on official investigation records and well‑documented circumstances—that the fatal plane crash may have been a murder‑suicide driven by personal collapse, recklessness, substance use, and untreated psychological distress. She details Kennedy’s lack of qualification for the flight, warnings from other pilots, his failure to follow aviation protocol, near‑collision with a commercial jet, and the broader context of his unraveling marriage, failing business, and collapsing relationships. Clay and Buck emphasize that, provocative as the theory may sound, Callahan’s claims rely on facts contained in official reports rather than speculation. From there, the hosts and Callahan explore why the show resonates so powerfully, pointing to ’90s nostalgia, pre‑internet media culture, and the enduring Cinderella fantasy. They argue that audiences are drawn to a mythologized version of elite romantic tragedy rather than the far darker and more unsettling reality. The discussion compares the Kennedy myth machine to the fascination Americans have with the British royal family, arguing that modern audiences crave comforting narratives even when they are demonstrably false. What We're Drinking: Jessica: Rúakh Wines out of Paso Robles, specifically the "Somos Cafe de Olla" red blend (56% Syrah, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petite Verdot). Owned by Sam Esquivel, a San Diego native whose interview episode drops the first Wednesday of May. Jessica Yañez and her partner in crime Erika Sanchez are back with a full glass of wine and a whole month's worth of chisme to spill. From heartbreaking headlines hitting close to home, to Hollywood takeovers, to what happened at the Oscars, to the state of your wallet right now, the March Chisme episode covers the news, the nostalgia, and the nunca-ending commentary that lives rent-free in our heads. Erika came prepared. Jessica came with feelings. Together, they gave you everything. This one hit differently. Jessica and Erika unpack the New York Times five-year investigation revealing sexual abuse allegations against Cesar Chavez, including a statement from civil rights icon Dolores Huerta, who says she was assaulted by him and that he fathered two of her children. The conversation goes deeper into the systemic silence women are expected to maintain "for the greater good," the question of how to separate a man from a movement, and why being down for a cause should never mean putting all your faith in one person. Jessica and Erika watched it so you'd know what to expect, and they had very strong reactions. This Louis Theroux documentary on Netflix explores online influencers redefining masculinity and their influence on young men. Erika wanted to turn it off. Jessica wanted to send the link to every young man she loves. Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor for Sinners and the crowd's reaction said everything. Jessica and Erika talk about what makes him so different from the rest, including the detail work he put into playing three distinct characters, and the fact that after the ceremony he went to In-N-Out. Alone. Without an entourage. Taking pictures with fans. If you've been confused about who owns what in Hollywood right now, Jessica breaks it all the way down. From Viacom to Paramount to CBS, from Discovery tanking HBO Max to the Ellison family (Oracle money, Trump ties) acquiring Paramount through Skydance, and now going after Warner Brothers and CNN, the consolidation of media power is moving fast. The implications for diverse voices, independent journalism, and your streaming bill are real. They also talk about the Murdoch family documentary, why Succession was more literal than anyone realized, and how the media we consume is being shaped by a handful of very wealthy, very politically connected people. Week three of the conflict. The Strait of Hormuz is blocked, cargo ships can't move gas, and Jessica paid $65.50 to fill her tank at Costco. Erika called her mom crying. They talk about how presidents don't typically drive gas prices, but intentionally starting a war and bombing oil fields is a different story. And if you think groceries are expensive now, they say: just wait. Transportation costs go up, everything goes up. The math is not mathing. A viral video of a voter admitting she's voted for Trump three times and calling herself an idiot sparked a whole conversation about what it means to not care until something affects you personally. Jessica has Trump-supporting cousins she loves, and she is absolutely worried about what happens if they get pulled over by ICE. She is not holding back on this one. Jessica has been watching it. Erika has not (yet). They talk about the Kennedy mystique, why the Camelot era still holds such power, what it must have felt like for Carolyn Bessette to go from private person to one of the most famous women in the world overnight, and how the 90s paparazzi era made that kind of life nearly impossible. Also: Ryan Murphy said something messy to Jack Schlossberg (JFK's nephew, now running for a House seat in New York), and the girls are not impressed. The good news we needed. Gap's recent ad revival started as a quiet response to the Sidney Sweeney moment and has grown into something genuinely culturally relevant. The Young Miko campaign. The 90s nostalgia. The khaki swing ad. The Madonna x Missy Elliott "All About the Jeans" era. Jessica and Erika reminisced, agreed that Gap is doing something right, and acknowledged they are no longer the target demographic, but they felt it anyway. A month of a lot. Heavy and real and also sometimes really, really funny. That's the March Chisme energy. Thank you for being here for all of it.

That date, however, is important on the Egyptian calendar as it marks the transition into the summer. This is a common practice today, to take from ignorance or misunderstanding myths and seasonal dates, and interpret them in the most literal ways possible. *The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements.
