Weekly sermon podcasts from Parramatta Baptist Church
At approximately 15 mins 15 secs on the recording the following questions were on the screen: As one of the disciples in the story what was the most significant thing you saw, felt or learnt? What is it about this story that motivates you to move forward in discipleship? Please pause the recording to contemplate your answers to these questions.
In today's message there are several breaks. Please use these for discussion with those around you or, if you are listening on your own, contemplation.
This is the final week in our ‘Summer Services’ series. Our guest preacher is Graham Hill, sharing a message ‘Hide this in your heart’. It is a message on the importance and power of God’s Word and our engagement with it.
This is the second of our ‘Summer Services’ – a series of three Sundays with guest speaker Scott Morrison from Georges River Life Church. We trust you will be blessed and encouraged by the messages shared, as well as the chance to hear from some of our mission partners through January.
Scott Morrison, pastor at Georges River Life Church, shares the three part series, Idols and Ideas. This is the first in the series.
Today is the first service in the series Good News leading up to Christmas.
This is the final service in the Praying the Big Prayers series.
Today we conclude our studies in the book of 1 Thessalonians. Pray to God, opening yourself up to and inviting afresh His transforming work in your life.
This is the first of the series 1 Thessalonians - Christian Mission.
Bible verses read in this final week of Living a Different Story: John 14:27, 2 Corinthians 12:9, Psalm 29:11, Isaiah 41:10, Isaiah 40:11, Isaiah 40:29-31, Psalm 73:26, Romans 8:26
After Kathy’s request for prayer (approx. 8 min 20 secs into the recording) the music covers a screening of The Greatest Promise, John 3:16. You could recite this verse slowly while the music plays. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
There are opportunities to pause during the message to reflect on Travis’ questions or discuss with friends and/or family. To continue those conversations or to use those questions in your own personal reflections this week, here they are again: What difference does your faith make to the way you see, experience and face hardships in your life? How have you seen God work through a past hardship in your life: to deepen a work of transformation in you? to bring you closer to Him? How might God be using the hard edges of this season to bring about renewal and transformation in your life and faith?
The speaker today is the Church Relationship Manager of Baptist World Aid, NSW. The text on the screen of the video while the music plays reads: "You are part of a rich history. In 1959 a band of volunteers met together in a garage and that was the beginning of Baptist World Aid Australia. You have been supporting us faithfully for DECADES. You are one of our most dedicated supporters … collectively your church has given $393,132 over the last 10 years, You have touched countless hearts with your loving generosity … you have helped families to have the fullness of life God intends. Parramatta Baptist Church, thank you."
*This audio of the entire video, including a bible reading, prayer and worship songs, is the first presentation in the new series Living a Different Story and includes the sermon by Steve, Everywhere, Everyday. *Prior to the service, Steve explains Gathering Together at Church, what has happened in past days and, as far as we can plan today, various ways to worship in the future.
This audio of the service is the final in the series Unmistakable and contains worship songs, prayer, bible reading and the sermon on Humility by Steve.
Indian video This audio is taken from the video of the service. At approx 28:20 to 30:56 into the recording there is audio in an Indian language from the video. This runs for 2 min 36 secs. Please fast forward through this.
