The defense at Richard Allen's trial tried to introduce Blair's composite sketch of Bridge Guy — a man in his twenties with poofy hair, rated 10 out of 10 for accuracy, who looks nothing like Allen. Excluded. An expert to challenge the State's bullet methodology — excluded. Audio of Allen's psychotic episodes during solitary — excluded. Expert testimony that the confessions were false — excluded. A ritualistic crime expert to explain the crime scene — excluded. Evidence about alternative suspects connected to pagan rituals, the victim, and the crime scene symbolism — excluded. Evidence about the investigation's failures over five and a half years — excluded. The State countered phone data breaking its timeline with a witness who Googled the answer during trial. The defense objected to the hearsay. Overruled. The jury convicted on November 11, 2024, after hearing what the defense calls a fundamentally one-sided presentation. Allen was sentenced to 130 years. Every exclusion, every blocked expert, every piece of evidence the jury never saw — the State calls it all harmless error. The defense argues it was constitutional error that crippled Allen's ability to defend himself. This is the final chapter in a five-part examination of how Abby and Libby's case went from a complex crime scene to a conviction built, in my opinion, on a foundation the full truth would not support. The appeal is pending.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? In this week's episode, we continue our series on gram-negative cocci and take a closer look at two of the most important organisms: Neisseria meningitidis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae. On the Gram stain, they may look the same—but clinically, they represent very different scenarios. We walk through colonization, transmission, and key virulence factors, and connect them to the infections they cause—from meningitis and invasive disease to mucosal and disseminated gonococcal infections. We also bring it back to the bench, discussing specimen source, testing approaches like NAAT and culture, and how to think through these organisms in real-world laboratory settings. Dave Crysler sits down with Sharon Custer, founder of Inventory Optimization Pro, to unpack why so many manufacturers trust their system numbers while their warehouse tells a completely different story. Sharon spent years in inventory strategy inside a Fortune 100 manufacturer before launching her own practice, and she brings real examples of how misaligned data, inconsistent naming, and siloed thinking quietly erode cash flow and operational performance. What You'll Discover: • Why a 100% inventory count can still leave you with stock-outs and overstock at the same time • How SKU naming inconsistencies create ghost inventory that ties up cash and tanks your reporting • The real cost of "deferred explanations," inventory adjustments that never get to root cause • Why your demand forecast is probably built on false data, and how stock-outs and promotions distort the numbers • How to gold-tag a single order and track its full journey to expose hidden margin leaks • Why treating inventory like cash, and cycle counting like bank reconciliation, is the foundation for accuracy • Where AI actually helps with inventory operations, and why clean data has to come first • How siloed thinking between finance, operations, and purchasing means everyone is looking at the same system but drawing different conclusions If you are running inventory-based operations and wondering why the numbers never quite add up, this conversation will help you see where the real problems are hiding, and what to do about them starting this week.
Welcome to Real Estate Called Out, formerly The Real Estate Replay. New name, sharper focus, and zero patience for the corporate spin that passes for real estate news every single week. For our first episode, we're starting with a good one.Opendoor's CEO jumped on social media to announce 30-year fixed mortgages at 4.99%, nearly a full point below market rate, no points, no upfront fees. The internet lost its mind. The napkin math started. And then, one day later, he quietly came back to clarify that the offer is a limited beta test available in exactly two cities, when you buy an opendoor home, and not everyone would qualify for it.But even if it were available everywhere, the story underneath that headline is worth understanding before you get swept up in the excitement. Because when a company that lost $1.3 billion last year offers you a below-market mortgage rate, the money to fund that discount has to come from somewhere. And that somewhere is almost always the price of the home. This episode we break down what a rate buydown actually is and how builders have used it for years to distract buyers from purchase price, the basis points argument Opendoor is making and why it only tells part of the story, the equity trap and why a lower monthly payment today can cost you everything if you need to sell in 3 to 5 years, and Opendoor's listing transparency problem — and why you need three separate websites to see the full picture on any home they're selling.Opendoor isn't the villain. But the devil is always in the details. And the details are exactly what we're here for. Before you make an offer on any Opendoor home: pull county property records to see what they paid, check price history on Zillow and Redfin — not just the seller's site, and compare to recent closed sales nearby, not active listings.New here? Real Estate Called Out is 20 minutes a week, one topic, no corporate sponsors, no spin. Subscribe so you don't miss what's coming next. The PR machine is loud. In the Kouri Richins murder trial, the defense has worked to portray Eric Richins as a financially controlling husband who left his wife feeling trapped and overlooked. Kouri Richins has pleaded not guilty to all charges. But the documented financial record tells a different story — and this episode is a commentary and opinion breakdown of what that record actually contains.According to forensic accountant testimony at trial, Kouri's real estate business was approximately $7.5 million in debt at the time of Eric's death, generating far less revenue than its monthly obligations. According to prosecutors and charging documents, she secretly used Eric's power of attorney to take out a $250,000 loan against his premarital home, falsified his business financial documents to secure fraudulent loans, and allegedly took $45,000 from a close personal friend for a deal that never materialized — leaving that friend evicted.Eric Richins' documented response to discovering his wife's alleged financial conduct was not to tighten financial control. He consulted an estate attorney, cited "recently discovered and ongoing abuse and misuse of finances," and restructured his estate to protect his children — without telling Kouri. In this episode, the argument is that the "controlling husband" framing is not supported by the evidence — and that the pattern on the record reflects something else entirely. The U.S. job market is a study in contradictions. While a new report shows January saw the highest level of layoffs since 2009—driven by corporate downsizing and AI integration—the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a surprising gain of 130,000 jobs. Meanwhile, recent data revisions suggest that hiring over the past two years was significantly weaker than previously thought, with workers and employers starting to question the reliability of official figures. WSJ reporters Justin Lahart and Lindsay Ellis discuss listener questions on the state of hiring, and whether the labor market is better or worse than the official data suggests. Visit https://takecontroladhd.com/gps to learn more and take control of your planning today! That “this year will be different” promise feels so good when it's fresh… and so brutal when the old patterns quietly return. In this episode, Pete and Nikki unpack why that boom-and-bust cycle hits so hard for ADHD brains: the early dopamine of a new system (or a newly organized sock drawer), the unrealistic maintenance expectations baked into most productivity advice, and the emotional crash that follows when the setup doesn't hold. They dig into the real trap underneath the resolution mindset—living in the gap between who you were yesterday and who you hope to be tomorrow—and how to pull your attention back to the only place you actually have leverage: today. Along the way, they talk about why asking for help can feel so risky (hello, shame and RSD), how to regulate before you ask, and what it looks like to reframe help as advocacy instead of rescue. The goal isn't becoming someone new. It's learning to support the person you already are, with more time, more buffer, and a lot less self-punishment.Links & NotesFree download! The latest release of more than 3 million Justice Department documents related to Jeffrey Epstein suggests that his sex-trafficking operation may have been broader than previously acknowledged, potentially involving third parties despite earlier official claims that there wasn't enough evidence to investigate others. Among the newly disclosed materials are victim testimonies and FBI memos indicating that Epstein may have directed girls and young women to other powerful men, including allegations linked to figures such as movie producer Harvey Weinstein and financier Leon Black, although neither has been charged in connection with Epstein's crimes. The files also contain internal government materials and references to explicit content, prompting renewed scrutiny of how law enforcement handled information about other individuals' involvement and raising questions about prior assertions that no evidence existed to pursue such inquiries.Attorneys for Epstein's survivors have criticized authorities for failing to fully investigate or disclose the involvement of third parties and for protecting powerful individuals while exposing victim details. The documents reinforce long-standing suspicions that Epstein and his close associate Ghislaine Maxwell used sex trafficking not only to exploit minors but also to foster influence over prominent figures. The release is part of an ongoing disclosure process under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, but it has already reignited debate over accountability, transparency, and whether all relevant records — including potential evidence about other participants — have been adequately disclosed.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:New Epstein files reveal he may have trafficked girls to others despite official denials | Jeffrey Epstein | The Guardian
Hour 3 with Joe Starkey and Brian Batko: Brian thinks the draft is exciting! Austin posted a Twitter poll that has gone back and forth between fun and boring, it is very close. Would people boo the Steelers picking Ty Simpson? The Steelers have hired Steve Scarnecchia as chief of staff, son of Patriots coach Dante Scarnecchia.
Brian Batko thinks the draft is exciting! Austin posted a Twitter poll that has gone back and forth between fun and boring, it is very close. Brian doesn't think he'd enjoy it in person. Joe thinks the in-person draft is not for him. Should you find it entertaining?
The latest release of more than 3 million Justice Department documents related to Jeffrey Epstein suggests that his sex-trafficking operation may have been broader than previously acknowledged, potentially involving third parties despite earlier official claims that there wasn't enough evidence to investigate others. On this lively, news-packed episode of Animal Party, host Deb Wolfe dives into the pet stories making people talk (and sometimes overreact!). Deb breaks down why a husky happily playing in the snow isn't the same as a cat left stranded on a freezing balcony for months—and why knowing the difference matters when calling the SPCA. She also shares an important warning about avian flu after pets in Alberta became sick from eating infected birds, plus a cautionary tale about airline pet travel after a family was denied boarding over a questionable policy. And of course, Deb brings the quirky fun with a “you can't Google this” teaser—then reveals the surprising Bruce Springsteen connection to Banff National Park. The episode wraps with a touching reminder of how deeply dogs absorb our emotions, after one sensitive doodle mirrored his owner's life change down to the exact day.EPISODE NOTES: Husky in the Snow, Cat on the Balcony: Same Call… Different Story Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/animal-party-dog-cat-news-animal-facts--6666735/support.
