Supervillain and Movie Reviewer
So I wasted my time and money going to this terrible excuse for a movie. How can a movie with Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman be so terrible? And what would have made it better? Find out here . . .
In this episode, I dive into the REAL meaning of Christmas . . . and how the message you’re getting from the Christmas stories is all wrong! You think you know what the Charlie Brown Christmas special means? Wrong. You think you know what the message from Rudolph is? You have no idea. But I do! Listen here!
In this episode, I review the best surprise of the year! The Hobbit has become one of my favorite Lord of the Rings movies because of two things: two villains who should be put in the movie villain hall of fame, like, tomorrow! I’m not going to reveal it here because that would mean you don’t have to listen to the episode. But what two villains from The Hobbit can you learn from about how to be a villain? I’ll give you a hint . . . it ain’t Count Dooku!
For this episode, I explain why movies about villains are rarely accurate. I am a villain. I should know. Movies like this should be banned and parents who take kids to movies like this should have their kids taken away and reprogrammed.
In this episode, I go in a slightly different direction, opening up my DVD collection for a bit of a “retro” review, taking a look at the classic Superman series of films (skipping two of the best in that series, for reasons that will be apparent in the episode — don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll address those two soon enough!) and exploring why these movies are great, in spite of being about Superman. Superman? More like Stupidman! I hope I’m the first person who ever used that joke, because it’s pretty good. But these movies have the best villain of all time, and this is the best version of that villain, and in this podcast episode I explore why. And I reveal my softer side, talking about my favorite Thanksgiving Day tradition . . .
This week, my favorite anti-hero: James Bond, in the latest in the increasingly weirdly named Daniel Craig series! Skyfall? What is that? I’m expecting Chicken Little to come at any moment, freaking out because an acorn hit her on the head. But Skyfall is a return to form for James Bond, and in my review you can find out why!
In my second episode, I review a series of movies that is near and dear to any fan of genre film! Star Wars! Star Wars is not just a bundle of action adventure excitement, but with the addition of the Clone Wars TV series, it’s also the best, most insidious bit of supervillain propaganda in modern storytelling! Bonus . . . a list of my favorite Star Wars movies from worst to best: 9. Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back 8. Episode IV: A New Hope 7. Episode II: Attack of the Clones 6. Episode VI: Return of the Jedi 5. Ewoks: Caravan of Courage 4. Episode III: Revenge of the Sith 3. Star Wars: The Clone Wars 2. Episode I: The Phantom Menace 1. Ewoks: The Battle for Endor
The premiere episode of my movie review podcast! I review The Amazing Spider-Man, The Avengers, and The Dark Knight Rises. Spoiler alert: I may be a supervillain, but I still love a good superhero movie! Hey, they may celebrate the exact opposite of my chosen life-path, but even I get a thrill when things get punched or blown up!
