Hello, it's us. We were wondering if after all these transfers you'd like to talk. Teknik: Casper Olsen. Et afsnit om kærlighed, tab, håb og troen på, at når det virkelig gælder, så står vi der stadig, together, letting the sky fall.
It's a little more of a somber Bond tone tonight, agents. We're trading in camp for tragedy with tonight's assignment - Skyfall.

SEASON 2 - EPISODE 176 - Chris Lowe - Production Designer In this episode of the Team Deakins Podcast, we speak with production designer Chris Lowe (BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE, THE LAST JEDI, IN BRUGES). We worked with Chris on SKYFALL, and we had a great time catching up with him. In addition to production design, Chris has had a long career as an art director, and he helps us understand how the two positions work together on any given project and what each one's responsibilities are. Throughout the episode, Chris also shares his strategies for communicating with directors and producers, creatively adapting to shifting budgets, and delegating duties to members of the art department. We also reflect on why and how the Shanghai skyscraper scene in SKYFALL pivoted from a location to a set, and Chris shares an episode of creative problem solving from THE LAST JEDI involving the Millennium Flacon, Yoda, and a tree. Plus, Chris reveals how he built Bangkok in Prague during the COVID-19 pandemic for THE GRAY MAN. - This episode is sponsored by Aputure

Is James Bond a Code Name has fueled fan debates for decades, and this episode delivers the final, evidence-based answer. In The Final Word, we examine the theory head-on using Ian Fleming's novels, official EON films, and on-screen continuity. This episode of Cracking the Code of Spy Movies goes directly to the source. We analyze how Ian Fleming created James Bond. And we discuss Fleming's interviews, drafts, and novels to see if there is a tell here. We explore the crucial evidence from YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, including Bond's detailed obituary. What do we learn from SKYFALL? And what about the tie-ins between FOR YOUR EYES ONLY and ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE? Even LICENSE TO KILL gives us some clues. We also address popular arguments supporting the code name theory. These include multiple actors, changing timelines, and the reuse of titles like M and Q. Each claim is examined and compared against canon evidence. This episode explains the difference between code names, cover names, and agent numbers. What do they mean and how does NO TIME TO DIE help us tie all that together? At one point, in early drafts of the first James Bond novel, Casino Royale, Ian Fleming initially had a name, James Secretan. We discuss this and why it never made the final novel. If you want the definitive answer, grounded in text and film, this is the episode. Subscribe to Cracking the Code of Spy Movies and join the conversation. Tell us what you think – Is James Bond a Code Name? Finally, do you agree with our assessment here? Do you think James Bond is a code name, cover name, or the character's real name? Our next guest has been nominated for 16 Academy Awards winning twice for “Blade Runner 2049” and “1917.” Few cinematographers have shaped the look and language of modern cinema as profoundly as Roger Deakins. Over the course of five decades, he has worked with some of the most influential directors of our time brining to life films that have become visual touchstones: “The Shawshank Redemption,” “No Country for Old Men,” “Skyfall,” and “1917” to just name a few. In his new book “Reflections on Cinematography” Deakins steps out from behind the camera to explore the craft and curiosity that have guided his life's work. The book offers not only behind the scenes insights into some of the most enduring films of the past century but also a thoughtful meditation on observation, a light movement, and human behavior shape what we see and how we understand story.

NO TIME TO DIE shocked audiences around the globe by doing what no Bond movie had ever dared to do — killing James Bond. After decades of near-death escapes, 007 finally met his end in Daniel Craig's last outing as the iconic British spy. But was it the bold, emotional conclusion the franchise needed, or an unforgivable betrayal of everything James Bond stands for? Now that the shock value has worn off, it's time to reexamine this. Was it bold storytelling, betrayal, or a cop out? In this episode of Cracking the Code of Spy Movies from SpyMovieNavigator.com, hosts Dan and Tom are joined by passionate Bond experts from across the globe: Morgan Lisney (Canada), Pietro Rossi (UK), Bill Kanas, and Stuart Bassinger (US). They debate one of the most controversial endings in movie history. Together, they dive deep into No Time to Die's themes, story arcs, plot holes, production decisions, and what Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson might have been thinking when they agreed to end Bond's story. From discussions about Bond's legacy, Daniel Craig's arc, and Amazon's takeover of the franchise, to speculation about the future of 007, this episode explores every angle. Was Bond's death a creative risk that gave the series emotional weight, or did it destroy the fantasy that made audiences fall in love with the character for over 60 years? We also examine how the Craig era compares to classic Bond films, from Casino Royale to Skyfall, and whether the next generation of filmmakers should reboot, revive, or completely reinvent 007.
This week, Moscow's top general has claimed that Russia has tested a low-flying experimental nuclear-powered cruise missile. It is said to be powered by a nuclear reactor and is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead with a potentially unlimited range. Russia calls it Burevestnik, Nato have codenamed it ‘Skyfall', and others have said it's a ‘tiny flying Chernobyl'. Western experts have previously cast doubt over missile's strategic value and Russian claims of having successfully tested it.But how dangerous is it?Victoria is joined by the BBC's Ben Tavener and Catriona Perry in Moscow and Washington respectively, plus Dr Justin Bronk who is a senior research fellow for Airpower and Technology at the military think tank RUSI.Plus, after Trump shifts his positions on sanctions, we look to the future to ask how the US president could potentially put more economic pressure on Russia.Today's episode is presented by Victoria Derbyshire. The producers were Julia Webster and Rufus Gray. The technical producer was Dave O'Neill. The series producer is Chris Flynn. I have to confess: On September 30, 2025, I was legit sweating bullets for Black folks. Not because of some existential threat like systemic racism or killer cops—no, this was the big one. The government shutdown.According to the Democratic echo chamber, that's when we hit peak vulnerability; like gazelles sensing a lion pride on the savanna. We're talking furloughs, frozen paychecks, and food stamps flickering out like a bad rom-com ending. And don't get me started on how they'd convinced the Black Left that a cackling madman was piloting the White House, twirling his mustache while plotting our demise.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Phil and Emily continue their miniseries on Oscar winning Best Director follow ups from the 2000s with Road to Perdition, Sam Mendes' ambitious second feature after American Beauty. Joining them is film journalist and podcaster Blake Howard (One Heat Minute Productions), who helps unpack the film's technical brilliance, subdued emotional core, and unique place in early 2000s cinema.Together, they dive into Mendes' leap from stage to screen, the film's striking cinematography from Conrad Hall, and how Tom Hanks' against type performance reshaped audience expectations. The conversation explores Paul Newman's final live action role, Jude Law's scene stealing menace, and Daniel Craig's early career turn as one of cinema's most dangerous nepo babies. They also debate Thomas Newman's Oscar nominated score, the film's release strategy, and how it stands among Mendes' eclectic career from Jarhead to Skyfall and beyond. With insights ranging from Jude Law's underrated presence to the legacy of Paul Newman and Tom Hanks' evolving star persona, this episode is both a reconsideration of a Depression era gangster story and a reflection on the pressures of following up an Oscar winning debut. Skyfall was the name of a James Bond film but it could easily be the next chapter for Democrats. Because Chicken Little finally got it right. The sky is falling on them, and by sky, I mean the hammer of Thor, except it's being wielded by none other than the Democrats themselves. Tatiana Martinez, an illegal residing in LA who built a career on social media by doxxing ICE agents and directing her followers to harass them and disrupt their arrests, has now been arrested herself.I predict that by the end of 2026, you won't have a lot of open “sanctuary” people lingering around. They seem to think it's ok to thwart law enforcement, but that will stop soon.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Movie soundtracks have given us some of the most unforgettable songs in music history, from Adele's haunting "Skyfall" to Seal's unexpected hit "Kiss from a Rose," we explore twelve iconic songs that made their mark through cinema. What happens when legendary artists create music specifically for the silver screen? We dive into Bruce Springsteen's approach to "The Wrestler" – a song he casually wrote after a concert and gave away for free – alongside Tina Turner's deeply personal "I Don't Want to Fight" created for her own biopic. Bond themes get special attention as we compare Paul McCartney's revolutionary "Live and Let Die" with Adele's moody, orchestral "Skyfall," showing how these musical moments reflect the evolution of the 007 franchise itself. Meanwhile, The Weeknd's sultry "Earned It" demonstrates how a film tie-in (Fifty Shades of Grey) can launch a song into the stratosphere regardless of the movie's critical reception. The mix also features the fascinating origin story behind Simon & Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson," which was originally written about Eleanor Roosevelt before being hastily repurposed for "The Graduate" with a simple word replacement. From Randy Newman's heartwarming "You've Got a Friend in Me" to the emotionally devastating "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, these songs prove that when filmmakers and musicians collaborate, magic happens.Whether you're a film buff, music lover, or both, this episode celebrates those perfect moments when visuals and sound collide to create something greater than the sum of their parts. Historically Thinking: Conversations about historical knowledge and how we achieve it
The liturgy of the Christian church is often dismissed today as archaic, arcane—or dead. But as Cosima Clara Gillhammer shows in her new book Light on Darkness: The Untold Story of the Liturgy, these ritual forms were once the very heartbeat of Western culture and continue to shape not only our cultural memory but even contemporary cultural practice. In this episode, we explore how liturgical practices shaped medieval life, art, and literature—and why echoes of the liturgy still resound today in movie soundtracks, national ceremonies, and even the architecture around us. Gillhammer argues that far from being merely theological abstractions, liturgical forms were deeply human, and gave language to joy, grief, awe, and the cycles of time. We trace how those patterns wove themselves into everything from Michelangelo's Pietà to John Trumbull's Battle of Bunker Hill—and even to James Bond's Skyfall. Far from being obscure or antique, liturgy turns out to be the roots of much what we take for granted. Light on Darkness: The Untold Story of the Liturgy is published by Reaktion. Cosima Clara Gillhammer is Career Development Fellow in English at Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford. She teaches and researches medieval literature, culture, and liturgy.
