    The Tragic Death of Sandra Bland

    On July 10, 2015, 28-year-old Sandra Bland was pulled over in Hempstead, near Houston Texas, for a minor traffic violation. However, the traffic stop turned confrontational and Sandra ended up being arrested and taken to the county jail. On the morning of July 13, 2015, jailers discovered Sandra hanging in her jail cell. The public voiced skepticism about Sandra's apparent suicide story and an investigation was launched.     In May of 2011, Dr. Christopher Duntsch, a neurosurgeon fresh out of his residency from the University of Tennessee in Memphis, moved to Dallas, Texas. During the next 2 years, Dr. Duntsch performed surgery on 38 patients. During Dr. Duntsch's surgical spree, he left 31 of his patients paralyzed or seriously injured and 2 of them dead.     The Abduction and Murder of Denise Amber Lee

    On January 17, 2008, 21-year-old Denise Amber Lee, was abducted from her home in North Port, Florida while she was cutting her two-year old's hair on her porch. Five 911 calls were made, including one from Denise, after her abduction. However, due to inaccurate logging of the 911 calls, police did not catch Denise's abductor, Michael King, in time to save her. After Denise's murder, Denise's husband, Nathan Lee, successfully sued the police department. He subsequently led for a 911 call reform on the police's policies and procedures. Nathan was able to implement changes to the state of Florida's 911 policies. He then created the Denise Amber Lee Foundation to improve 911 procedures throughout the United States.
