American girl whose mother was found not guilty of her death

One day. That's how long it took for the Bridegan case to get more complicated, not less. Mario Fernandez was convicted of first-degree murder and solicitation in the killing of Jared Bridegan, shot in a staged carjacking outside his Jacksonville Beach home in 2021. Jurors took under four hours to convict; Fernandez faces life without parole. Then, a day later, prosecutors filed two entirely new felony charges against him involving children — cases with no connection to Bridegan, one tied to a girl who was around eight when the alleged conduct began. Shanna Gardner's trial, set to begin days later, got pushed to May 2027. Judge London Kite granted the continuance so her defense can investigate whether the new charges point to a motive of Fernandez's own — a theory made more interesting by the fact that Fernandez reportedly told police the twins were "better off" with Bridegan "out of the picture" long before any of this surfaced. The delay changes nothing about what's already sitting in evidence against Gardner: her own texts. A friend messaged a contact about finding Gardner "a guy" who "performs permanent disappearing acts on certain people." A detective testified the plot dates back to 2015. Gardner still faces murder, conspiracy, solicitation, and a fourth charge connected to her twins. Her attorney, Jose Baez, has a Casey Anthony acquittal on his record and is already accusing prosecutors of mischaracterizing evidence. The jury pool has doubled to 500 people to manage publicity from Fernandez's conviction. Two defendants, one case, and the story is still moving. Jared Bridegan's killer is going to prison. His wife's trial just got more complicated than anyone expected. Mario Fernandez was convicted of first-degree murder and solicitation for shooting Bridegan in a Jacksonville Beach street in 2021, staged to look like a carjacking. Jurors took less than four hours. He's facing life without parole. Then, one day after that verdict, prosecutors filed two brand-new felony charges against Fernandez — both involving children, unrelated to Bridegan's murder, one tied to a girl who was around eight when the alleged conduct began. Shanna Gardner's own trial was supposed to start days later. Instead, Judge London Kite granted a continuance to May 2027 so her defense can investigate whether the new charges reveal a motive of Fernandez's own — separate from, or tangled up with, hers. Fernandez had already told police the twins were "better off" with Bridegan "out of the picture," a comment that predates the new charges by years. None of that changes what prosecutors already have waiting for Gardner's jury: her own text messages, read by prosecutors as evidence of intent rather than frustration. A friend, Kim Jensen, texted someone about finding Gardner "a guy" who "performs permanent disappearing acts on certain people." A detective testified the plot goes back to 2015. Gardner still faces murder, conspiracy, solicitation, and a fourth charge connected to her twins. Her attorney, Jose Baez, already has Casey Anthony's acquittal on his résumé, and he's accusing the state of mischaracterizing evidence before a single juror is seated. The jury pool has been doubled to 500. May 2027 is a long way off, and the story keeps changing before it gets there. Shanna Gardner's trial was supposed to start this week. Then Mario Fernandez's conviction blew a hole in the timeline. Fernandez was found guilty of first-degree murder and solicitation for killing Jared Bridegan — a plot prosecutors say Gardner set in motion. The jury deliberated less than four hours and Fernandez is facing life without parole. But one day after that verdict, prosecutors filed two new felony charges against him, both involving children and both unrelated to Bridegan's death. That's what pushed Judge London Kite to grant Gardner's defense a continuance, moving jury selection to May 2027. Her attorneys say they need time to investigate whether the new allegations point to a motive of Fernandez's own — something that could reshape the entire narrative around who wanted Bridegan dead and why. Fernandez had already told police the twins were "better off" with Bridegan "out of the picture," a line that predates the new charges considerably. The delay doesn't touch the evidence prosecutors already have against Gardner directly: her own text messages. One exchange has a friend describing a search for someone who "performs permanent disappearing acts on certain people." A detective testified the plan traces to 2015. Gardner faces murder, conspiracy, solicitation, and a fourth charge tied to her children. Her attorney is Jose Baez — the lawyer who got Casey Anthony acquitted — and he's already fighting the state over how it's characterizing the evidence. The jury pool has been doubled to 500 people. May 2027 is the new date. Whether it holds is another question entirely. LINKS Listen Anywhere You Get Podcasts: https://pod.link/1655749292 Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Show SynopsisAugust 27th, 2026 episode of the IPS Deprogramhost Tim discusses the mechanisms of modern psychological operations, media-driven programming, and the widespread psyops that keeps the public in a state of default confusion. SHe breaks down the difference between reflexive “low-information disbelief” (such as robot denialism) and genuine, evidence-based skepticism. * Incredulity vs. Skepticism (The Humanoid Robot Debate)* Tim critiques “robot denialism”, pointing to online communities claiming that videos of Chinese humanoid robot Olympics are entirely fake.* He defines incredulity (low-information disbelief) as dismissing consensus realities simply because they are hard to believe within one's limited frame of reference, comparing robot deniers to people who don't believe in gorillas or zebras.* True skepticism requires gathering every available fact and perspective before drawing a conclusion. Tim notes that while some robotics promotional footage is mocked up, the basic existence of remote-controlled athletic robots is not an extraordinary claim.* The “Twin Timelines” and the “Meta Script”* Human history is divided into two distinct timelines: the real timeline of human experience and a parallel “future fake timeline” engineered via psyops.* These timelines converge in the minds of believers through active public participation in engineered events.* The “meta script” is the pre-scheduled, pre-scripted sequence of historical events planned decades in advance.* Major entertainment platforms (such as Hulu or Netflix) are co-opted to condition the public, using “entertainment counterparts” of major figures like Donald Trump and Elon Musk to foreshadow their real-life arcs. Tim cites the Hulu show Tempest as an example of coordinated predictive programming.* He rejects the theories of alternative media figures (like Crypto K, Alex Fulton, and Mark Devlin) who attribute predictive programming to “supernatural” causes or forces “higher than man,” labeling them as potential feds or gatekeepers designed to obscure the mundane reality of government-controlled media.* Celebrity Idolatry and Gematria Codes* Celebrities function as “idols” or representatives of ancient gods for a world-controlling cult.* Tim connects the timing of major celebrity deaths and retirements to symbolic numbers; for instance, Dick Cheney's death coinciding with the opening of the One World Trade Tower, featuring highly-coordinated 9/11 flight number codes and imagery.* He also points to Dolly Parton dying at 8:25 AM at age 80, matching another actor's death, and Klaus Schwab stepping down from the WEF at the same time the Pope died or stepped down, both at age 88.* The Myth of the “Vax Apocalypse”* Tim argues that the anti-vaccine movement lost all credibility when its predicted “massive die-off” failed to occur in 2021 and 2022.* He claims anti-vaxxers have become “propaganda mules spreading fear porn on behalf of Big Brother,” holding onto “doom hope” because they desperately want a disaster to vindicate their beliefs.* Psyop Continuity: The Case of Lindsay Clancy* Tim states that the high-profile case of Lindsay Clancy (the mother accused of killing her children) is an entirely simulated psyop. He asserts that she is an actress and no children were actually killed.* To prove the continuity of this casting, he notes that her defense psychiatrist, Dr. Philip Resnick, has also consulted on other famous “psyop” cases, including those of Jeffrey Dahmer, Timothy McVeigh, Casey Anthony, the Unabomber, and James Holmes.* He compares the public's captivation with child killers to “Barbie Feminism,” referencing how the Barbie movie opens with girls destroying their baby dolls to enter “Barbie Land”.* Adopting the “Non-Position”* Taking an “anti-position” (such as being anti-Bill Gates or anti-Fauci) forces individuals to huddle behind government-appointed shepherds and controlled-opposition agents.* Modern conspiracy theories (e.g., 5G towers, chemtrails, Bill Gates) are merely updated “hyperstitions”—replacements for ancient superstitions like werewolves or curses—designed to keep freethinkers controlled by low-grade terror and fear.* An analytical “non-position” is the only way to remove emotional reactivity and view the media ecosystem objectively.Memorable Quotes* On being unconfused: “In a land where the default is confusion, I am unconfused. And you don't get unconfused by staying ambiguous about things that you should be able to determine for yourself.”* On the nature of skeptics vs. trolls: “Nobody with a legitimate desire to know the truth is just asking questions. The people who want to know are seeking answers. And that's what I do.”* On how belief controls the mind: “They are controlling you by making you believe in those things... Your belief in the scary things is what controls you. I would almost say that the entire body of conspiracy theories is a meta conspiracy.”* On the two timelines: “So we have our past, present, future... The truth of it is, the future is written in advance.”* On “doom hope”: “So the anti-vaxxers were still clinging to the doom hope that there was a massive die off so they could say, I told you so... And they don't want to admit that they were propaganda mules spreading fear porn on behalf of Big Brother...” The Erica Kirk conundrum is a concept the host, Tim, uses to describe what he views as irrefutable evidence that major public figures are pre-scripted characters with fictional counterparts in mainstream media.Specifically, the “conundrum” refers to how Erica Kirk's real-life story—which Tim says the public watched unfold on September 11th—mirrors the character arc of “the Widow” in Hulu's show, Tempest.According to Tim, this overlapping narrative is not a coincidence. Instead, it demonstrates how individuals who participate in multiple historic events are assigned entertainment counterparts to condition the public. He argues that if someone is still “stuck on these people are real,” they are operating from a position of “ignorance about how this thing works”. This is a public episode. Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts labor and delivery nurse on trial for killing her three children, ages five, three, and eight months, received more than 30 different psychiatric prescriptions in just four months and was never diagnosed with postpartum psychosis before the killings. While she has admitted to the murders, a wave of TikTok and true crime creators has spent the past week building an entirely different case against her husband, Patrick Clancy, pointing to a half marathon photo with his now wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, a Bratz doll crime scene recreation, and a Nancy Grace segment about the couple sitting too close together. Chalene checked every theory against the actual court testimony. She also breaks down the one piece of evidence the judge won't let the public hear, Patrick's 911 call, described by courtroom insiders, including NBC10 Boston's Sue O'Connell, as the most gut wrenching audio they have ever heard. Topics discussed: Lindsay Clancy, Patrick Clancy, Cora Clancy, Dawson Clancy, Callan Clancy, Dr. Rachel Danis, McLean Hospital, postpartum psychosis, postpartum depression, SSRIs, Bermuda Half Marathon, Don't F**k with Cats, Nancy Grace, Shannon Hill, Sue O'Connell, Commonwealth Confidential, Casey Anthony, George Anthony, Chris Watts. Hayden Panettiere, who appeared in more than 50 commercials by age five before starring in Heroes and Nashville, was found unresponsive at 36 in a Greenville, South Carolina apartment on Sunday, August 16th, where her on again off again boyfriend Brian Hickerson and his brother Zach were both present when a 911 call reported cardiac arrest and a possible overdose. Hayden had been on a press tour for her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, detailing a decade long, documented abusive relationship with Brian Hickerson, who pled no contest to two felony domestic violence charges, and the moment Neutrogena allegedly invoked a morality clause after she opened up about postpartum depression on the Kelly and Michael Show. The story also reaches back to her engagement to Wladimir Klitschko and their daughter Kaya, and a surprising parallel Chalene draws to the Lindsay Clancy postpartum psychosis trial. It was a case that captivated the country. In 2008, 2-year-old Caylee Anthony disappeared, only to be discovered six months later near her home. Her remains were stuffed in plastic bags and her mouth sealed with duct tape. Her mother, Casey Anthony, was charged with murder after not reporting her daughter missing for a month, and allegedly lying to police.
Cindy Anthony's 911 call on July 15, 2008, contained the most honest words spoken in the entire Casey Anthony case: the car smelled like a dead body. Three years later, on the witness stand, Cindy said it was just an expression. The protective instinct toward Casey had overridden the truth she'd blurted to a dispatcher in terror. The defense made it worse. Jose Baez accused George Anthony of covering up Caylee's death. George denied it. He has never been charged with anything. After the acquittal, Casey cut both parents off. She later accused George on camera. George told interviewers he still loves Casey and hopes for reconciliation. The final episode in a six-part series. The Anthonys offered everything and got nothing. The family that tried hardest to stay intact broke the most completely.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Cindy Anthony called 911 and said the car smelled like a dead body. Then she spent three years walking it back. On the witness stand, she told the jury the words were just an expression. She described removing Caylee's doll from the car and spraying it with Febreze. A mother who knew what she smelled tried to un-know it under oath.George and Cindy held together through the investigation and the trial. Casey's defense accused George of covering up Caylee's death and worse. He denied all of it. After the acquittal, Casey cut contact. Years later, she accused her father publicly. George says he'd still welcome her back. This is the only episode in the series where the family's loyalty broke. Not because the evidence cracked it. Because the person they were protecting turned around and used them as the shield.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? In the summer of 2008, a two-year-old girl named Caylee Marie Anthony vanished from her home in Orlando, Florida, and her mother Casey didn't tell a soul for thirty-one days. Instead of calling police, Casey went clubbing, got a tattoo that read "Bella Vita," stayed with her boyfriend, posted party photos on social media, and spun an elaborate web of lies about a fictional nanny named Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez who she claimed had taken her daughter. When Casey's mother Cindy finally forced the truth into the open with a frantic 911 call, investigators discovered that virtually everything Casey had told them was fabricated — the nanny didn't exist, the job at Universal Studios was fiction, and the coworkers she named were imaginary.Forensic evidence painted a devastating picture. Air samples from the trunk of Casey's Pontiac Sunfire revealed chemical markers of human decomposition and shockingly high levels of chloroform. Cadaver dogs alerted on the trunk and on a spot in the Anthony family's backyard. A hair with postmortem root banding consistent with Caylee's was recovered from the trunk. Computer searches on the family's home computer included terms like "chloroform," "neck breaking," and "fool-proof suffocation methods," the last of which was conducted on the very day Caylee was last seen alive. On December 11th, 2008, a meter reader named Roy Kronk discovered Caylee's skeletal remains in a wooded area on Suburban Drive, less than a quarter mile from her grandparents' home. Her body had been placed inside a black trash bag and a canvas laundry bag, and three overlapping pieces of duct tape were found adhered to the lower portion of her skull. The chief medical examiner ruled the death a homicide but could not determine an exact cause of death due to the advanced state of decomposition.Casey was charged with first-degree murder and faced the death penalty. The trial began in May of two thousand eleven and became a wall-to-wall media sensation rivaling the O.J. Simpson case. The prosecution argued that Casey killed Caylee to free herself from the responsibilities of motherhood. The defense, led by Jose Baez, countered with a bombshell claim that Caylee had drowned accidentally in the family pool and that Casey's father George had helped cover it up. Baez also alleged that George had sexually abused Casey since childhood, conditioning her to hide trauma and maintain a facade — though no evidence was ever presented to support either claim. On July fifth, two thousand eleven, the jury returned verdicts of not guilty on all felony charges. Casey was convicted only of four misdemeanor counts of lying to law enforcement. The verdict shocked the nation and ignited a firestorm of public outrage. Jurors later explained that while they found Casey's behavior deeply troubling, the prosecution could not establish a definitive cause of death, and the lack of direct physical evidence linking Casey to a murder created reasonable doubt they could not overcome.Casey was released from jail twelve days later and disappeared from public life. In the years that followed, she gave a handful of interviews in which she maintained her innocence, blamed her father, and expressed no clear remorse. A Peacock documentary in two thousand twenty-two gave her a platform to tell her version of events, but it was met with widespread skepticism. The case led directly to the passage of "Caylee's Law" in Florida, making it a felony for a parent to fail to report a missing or deceased child. No one has ever been held criminally responsible for Caylee Marie Anthony's death. If you're drawn to real criminal investigations, cold cases, and the details that don't always make it into the official report, make sure you're following The Guilty Files wherever you listen.Turn on automatic downloads so you never miss an episode — because each case unfolds in two parts, and the truth is rarely found in just one.If you value careful analysis, real law enforcement insight, and true crime without the sensationalism, consider leaving a five-star rating and written review. It helps more than you know and allows us to keep bringing these case files to light.Until next time —The facts matter. The details matter. And the truth is often redacted.

In the disappearance of 9-year-old Melodee Buzzard, we've heard timelines, surveillance clips, and official statements. But nothing — nothing — is more disturbing than what the only person who's actually been inside that house says he saw and heard. Tonight, we break down every claim made by Tyler Brewer, the legal document assistant who visited Melodee's mother, Ashlee Buzzard, multiple times in the days after Melodee vanished — and walked straight into the center of a psychological crisis unfolding in real time. According to Brewer, Ashlee told him she handed her daughter to a couple she met at a zoo. She couldn't give names, addresses, numbers, or any way to contact them. Then, within the same conversation, she contradicted her own story, snapping, “How do you know I left her in Utah?” Her narrative shifted minute to minute, raising serious questions about her mental state. Brewer says Ashlee claimed the mysterious couple kept changing drop-off locations across multiple states because they were “paranoid about being followed.” She allegedly said she needed Melodee gone for “a month or two” due to a routine outpatient surgery — an explanation Brewer called nonsensical. Then we get into the darker details. Ashlee allegedly told him how to order fake license plates, said she'd swapped them before, and even said a “friend who has Melodee” taught her. Investigators later confirmed the rental car she used on the cross-country trip did, in fact, have an out-of-state plate during the journey. Inside the home, Brewer describes seeing a pillow dressed in Melodee's hoodie and pants, surrounded by photos ripped from missing-child posters — a shrine-like arrangement that grows more disturbing the longer you sit with it. He says Ashlee accused him of being undercover law enforcement, insisted her house was bugged, deleted her Amazon, email, and bank accounts, and gave him keys to her house and storage units while telling him to empty everything if she was arrested. And when compared to Casey Anthony? Brewer says she joked, “At least I'm not out partying.” These aren't theories. These are the claims of the only person allowed into that house. Tonight, we're breaking them down piece by piece — and asking the question nobody can answer: How can a system see all this and still be unable to intervene? Tonight on Hidden Killers, we sit down with psychotherapist Shavaun Scott to examine one of the most psychologically alarming missing-child cases in recent memory: the disappearance of nine-year-old Melodee Buzzard — and the unraveling mental state of her mother, Ashlee Buzzard, whose behavior seems to be spiraling far past “odd” and into a realm of fractured reality. This is a case defined by contradictions, delusion-like narratives, and a system trapped in its own limitations. Ashlee has claimed her house is bugged, that strangers are monitoring her, that law enforcement is tracking her every move, and that a mystery couple from a zoo — whose names she can't provide — is caring for Melodee. Meanwhile, she's deleting accounts, swapping plates, dismantling her digital life, and creating what looks disturbingly like a symbolic stand-in for Melodee on a pillow inside the home. And through all of this, Melodee hasn't been heard from in nearly two months. Tonight, Shavaun breaks down the psychological red flags: • What paranoia and impaired reality-testing actually look like • Why her story shifts from day to day • What the “shrine” on the couch signals clinically • Whether the flight behaviors suggest panic, planning, or manic unraveling • Why calm, controlled behavior can mask severe internal instability • The danger to a child depending on a parent whose reality is fractured But the bigger story is the systemic failure: Why hasn't Ashlee been detained? Why no psychiatric hold? Why can't the system intervene when a child is missing and a parent is unraveling? Shavaun walks us through the brutal truth: unless someone meets the impossibly narrow legal standard of “imminent danger,” mental-health and child-welfare systems are often legally powerless — even when the red flags are blinking in neon. If you're following the Buzzard case, this is the conversation you need to hear. #HiddenKillers #MelodeeBuzzard #AshleeBuzzard #TrueCrime #MissingChild #Psychology #MentalHealthCrisis #SystemFailure #TonyBrueski #ShavaunScott Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Authorities in California are urgently searching for 7-year-old Melodee Buzzard, a young girl who vanished under deeply troubling and suspicious circumstances. Melodee was last seen in early October near Lompoc, California, and has not been seen publicly since October 11, when law enforcement confirmed surveillance footage of her traveling with her mother, Ashley Buzzard, near the Utah-Colorado border. Since that sighting, there has been no verifiable proof of life. According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, Ashley has provided “no verifiable explanation” for her daughter's whereabouts. Investigators say she's been evasive, uncooperative, and unwilling to answer direct questions — drawing alarming comparisons to the Casey Anthony case. Despite multiple search warrants on her home, storage unit, and vehicle, investigators remain without solid leads on where Melodee could be. What's most haunting is the growing pattern that echoes other infamous missing child cases like Harmony Montgomery and Oakley Carlson — cases where a child vanished, unnoticed for far too long, and the guardian's story simply didn't add up. In this case, reports indicate Ashley changed her license plates just before Melodee disappeared, traveled out of state, and may have manipulated her timeline to mislead authorities. Investigators have worked with the FBI, securing warrants for Ashley's electronics and financial records, hoping to uncover new evidence. Yet despite these efforts, Melodee remains missing, and her mother continues to dodge accountability. As the case gains traction on Court TV and NewsNation, the public's outrage grows — how long can this silence last before justice catches up? This is more than just another missing person's case. It's a chilling reminder of how easily a child can vanish, and how bureaucracy, silence, and deception can delay the truth. #MelodeeBuzzard #AshleyBuzzard #MissingChild #TrueCrime #BreakingNews #CaliforniaCrime #JusticeForMelodee #ChildEndangerment #InvestigativeNews #TrueCrimeCommunity Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
