New York has the second highest rate of reincarcerating people on parole based on technical violations. People are sent back to prison not for a new crime but often for trivial matters such as being late for curfew or missing an appointment with a parole officer. This episode we are in conversation with Yami, Henry and Abu who share their unjust experience with parole in support of the LESS IS MORE ACT, New York. The Less is More Act will restrict incarceration for technical violations, and will provide the right to a hearing for violation of parole rather than being sent straight to jail among other provisions.
