The In-Between

It's pure madness, I know, but I recorded a Willowbower episode.  Now that Luke and Annelise know Anya is looking to negotiate, they try to come up with an audicious plan to solve the problems of the human invaders in the Edge, to gain Anya's help in sending Luke and Annelise back to their own world.

Willowbower Volume II, Chapter 2 finds Luke and Annelise with Anya in her lands, finally understanding what is happening and the bargain they must strike to get home. Annelise learns something new about herself and her child.  Luke learns something new about his map, and all consider the importance of thwarting the unknown plans of the human mercenaries on the border. Annelise and Luke finally meet Anya, find out what she wants in exchange for sending them home. They find the environment disorienting and the world much more like the folk tales than they could have imagined.

For a brief synopsis of our story so far:  Luke and Annelise accidentally stumble into an Otherworld landscape and can't return home.  They encounter many perils while seeking for a magickal being named Anya, who is reputed to be able to send them home.  Through acts of magick and assorted accidents, Luke and Annelise find Anya's lands and discover a community that bears a striking resemblance to a blend of Celtic tribal cultures.  They start to rest and prepare for the return home just in time to discover a threat in the outlands beyond the border.  After agreeing to go on a scouting mission with the people of this land, the band comes under attack, and the weary group finds themselves trapped in the outlands, wounded and exhausted.  Luke and Annelise wonder if they can use the magick that brought them to anya's lands to bring their new friends home……..   In this episode, Luke gets the wounded group of Hunters back into their village with the use of his lunar map and just a tiny bit of help from Annelise.  After tending to the wounded and the dead, the two travelers are surprised to encounter the one being they have been searching for their entire journey.. Luke, Annelise and a group of Hunters are stranded and wounded in the Edge.

As Luke and Annelise adapt to their environment, they learn a new use for Luke's mysterious symbols and maps.

Today we discuss the deeper meaning behind the fall equinox as the harvest gets rolling in earnest, the nights are noticeably shorter and the light's qualities are different.  Far from being a pagan version of an American Thanksgiving, this season has deeper overtones that unlock the mysteries of death and rebirth, awaken passion in some of us, and quietness in others.

Luke and Annelie explore magical landscapes, each other, and more of the dangers that lie in the world of the Edge.

Annelise finally meets her mysterious friend and they find themselves unexplainably between worlds.

In our last segment, Annelise was surprised to encounter a man in the shadowy retreat under the willow tree at her new home.   Now, the story continues as she deals with the embarassment of fleeing her own creek side, and uses unusual means to attempt to learn more about her mysterious visitor.

This specially scheduled show contains reflections and meditations for the longest night of the year, when we must reach down for even the smallest spark of light inside to keep us going through the long blanket of darkness.
