Meditation: Continuous Space Suffused with Awareness - By learning to inhabit the body, we discover the space and aliveness that fills the universe. In this meditation we are guided through the body, filling different domains with presence. We then open into the continuous awake space that is both within and surrounds the body. When we notice the mind drifts, we relax back to be that awake space, aware of the changing flow of sensations, thoughts, feelings and sounds.

Driving, eating, being at home, and exercising all fall into autopilot often. I decided to think a little more deeply on how I can make more flow states in my life through being intentional often. I plan to cultivate more intentionality purposefully in order to really get the most out of everyday. I want to be involved and open to what shows up. The book I'm reading: Flow- The Psychology of Optimal Experience breaks down a process to help facilitate turning any activity into a flow opportunity.A) To set an overall goal and as many subgoals are as realistically feasibleB) Find a way to measure progress in terms of the goals chosenC) Keep concentrating on what one is doing and keep making finer and finer distinctions in the challenges involved in the activityD) Develop the skills necessary to interact with the opportunities availableE) Keep raising the stakes if the activity becomes boringI'm planning on applying this to things I normally wouldn't think to do, even something as simple as walking. In Christian meditation, we are re-aligning ourselves vertically. We're remapping our horizontal realities with a vertical view/perspective. Enabling us to embody that vertical perspective replaces anxiety and tension with a calm confidence. Isaiah 43:10-11 ESV “You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me. I, I am the LORD, and besides me there is no savior.” “The LORD” in our English Bibles is indicating that in Hebrew God's name, Yahweh, is used. Yahweh is the ancient Hebrew verb form for “HE IS.” God's name in the Hebrew scriptures is used more than any other term for God. More than “God” is used. When we survey the various truths associated with God's name, HE IS, in the Hebrew scriptures (what we call the Old Testament), four important aspects of God are emphasized. HE IS the Creator and Sustainer of ALL that exists, including this entire universe. HE IS the Giver and Sustainer of ALL life everywhere always. HE IS Eternally God. HE IS ALWAYS 100% present with you and focused on you in every present moment (without being any less present or focused anywhere else in the universe, because HE IS infinite). These four realities of what God's name means are easy to memorize, and so to remember them when you “Praise the LORD” will help you replace anxieties and self-protective guarding with a calm confidence and peace.
