What's the hardest part about being the main character in your own life? You're also writing the script as you go along. And sometimes it's hard to know when you need a scene change. Filmmaker Franklin Leonard encounters plenty of dramatic moments as he seeks to follow his creative dream. But those big moments, he comes to realize, aren't what will change him into the person he truly wants to be. Change happens not in an explosion or a sudden shift of scenery, but slowly, in moments of reflection, and sometimes after years of pleasing others. What matters is … it happens.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Dragon has planned a sporting competition for all the Ahway Island creatures. Let the Island Games begin! Narrator: Female Story Begins: 3:27 Dragon’s Island Games Excerpt: Dragon moseyed home after finishing an important meeting in the clearing in the forest. In honor of the human Olympics that were taking place, two animal representatives from each area of the island had just met to plan their very first celebration of animal skills on Ahway Island. Everyone was so excited, they had decided that events would take place on the following day, with Dragon and Odin Owl serving as co-hosts. After the meeting, everyone dispatched back to their respective homes on Ahway Island to talk to their fellow creatures and select the events that would take place in each area: the forest, the mountains, the animal sanctuary, and the beach. Spreading out the events would enable all creatures to have a chance to attend and participate. Today's Meditation: Relax your whole body from head to toe in this meditation. What if understanding how AI thinks could reveal uncomfortable truths about how your own brain works, and give you powerful tools to make smarter decisions, resist manipulation, and upgrade your cognition at the root level? -Watch this episode on YouTube for the full video experience: https://www.youtube.com/@DaveAspreyBPR Host Dave Asprey sits down with Tom Griffiths, the Henry R. Luce Professor of Information Technology, Consciousness, and Culture in the Departments of Psychology and Computer Science at Princeton University. Griffiths directs Princeton's Computational Cognitive Science Lab, a research group focused on understanding the mathematical foundations of human cognition, and the Princeton Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence. He is the coauthor of Algorithms to Live By and the author of the new book The Laws of Thought, and his award-winning research has appeared in Science, Nature, and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Together, Dave and Tom go deep on the cognitive science behind human performance, brain optimization, and the surprising overlap between biohacking and artificial intelligence. They explore why your body filters reality before your conscious brain ever sees it, how your mitochondria function as a distributed cognitive network, and what that means for longevity, decision-making, and neuroplasticity. You'll Learn: Why AI models reveal that humans may be more "stochastic parrots" than we'd like to admit How your mitochondria pre-process sensory reality before your auditory cortex even fires Why emotions like anger, love, and remorse are computational tools evolution built into your reward function How low energy and blood sugar directly degrade your decision-making at a hardware level What "resource rationality" means and how to use it to make better decisions under constraint Why AI systems have measurable psychological personalities, and which ones are least likely to mess with your head How neuroplasticity can eliminate the inner critic and reshape your mental operating system Why two-process cognition (fast and slow thinking) is a feature, not a bug, of human intelligence Thank you to our sponsors! -BEYOND Biohacking Conference 2026 | Register with code DAVE300 for $300 off https://beyondconference.com-Essentia | Go to https://myessentia.com/dave and use code DAVE for $100 off The Dave Asprey Upgrade.-Quantum Upgrade | Try it free for 15 days — no credit card required — at QuantumUpgrade.io/DAVE. "Without a life of prayer, you are really not living as a Catholic" - Matt Leonard   Summary What does it really mean to "go deeper" in prayer? And what if you pray every day but don't feel anything?  This week we're joined by Matthew Leonard, founder of The Science of Sainthood, to talk about what real spiritual growth looks like. We break down the three modes of prayer, vocal, meditation, and contemplation, and how they form a path to holiness. Matthew shares practical steps for building a daily habit of mental prayer, handling distractions, and creating space for silence. We also talk about how married couples can grow spiritually together without pressure or guilt.  If you've ever wondered whether you're making progress in your prayer life, this conversation will give you clarity, encouragement, and a clear next step.   Key Takeaways Prayer is essential, not optional.  Without prayer, we're not really living the fullness of Catholic life. A relationship with the Lord isn't an add-on. It's fundamental. There's a path to deeper prayer.  Vocal prayer, meditation, and contemplation build on each other. Vocal prayer engages body and soul. Meditation is daily mental prayer and real conversation with God. Contemplation is a gift from God that we prepare for through faithfulness. "Feeling nothing" doesn't mean nothing is happening.  Distractions are normal. Lack of emotion isn't failure. Stay faithful, show up, and trust that God is at work beneath the surface. Consistency creates growth.  Commit to a time and place. Embrace silence. Use Scripture or spiritual reading to focus. Act on inspirations. Over time, deeper prayer opens you to greater grace.   Couple Discussion Questions How can we support each other as we grow in our prayer life?  What does our personal prayer life actually look like right now, and where do we each feel invited to go deeper?   Resources https://www.scienceofsainthood.com/

Welcome to Day 1 of 10-Minute Calm. Today's arc is Release, and your meditation features a gentle visualization designed to help you set down mental tension and emotional heaviness—without overthinking it. You'll be guided to soften the body, lengthen the exhale, and imagine stress leaving in a calm, natural way—like a tide washing away what you no longer need to carry. This is a supportive practice for anyone feeling tense, overwhelmed, or "full" inside. Leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more settled as you begin the week. This is day 1 of a 7-day meditation series, "10-minutes of Calm: Meditations to Deal with the Uncertainty of Daily Life"  episodes 3472-3478. ABOUT THIS WEEK'S SERIES Welcome to 10-Minute Calm—a gentle daily meditation series created to help you feel steadier, clearer, and more at ease in just ten minutes. Each episode is simple, warm, and practical—designed for real life on busy days, anxious days, and emotionally full days. Through a supportive weekly arc—Release, Rest, Ground, Protect, Nurture, Balance, and Embody—you'll practice calming techniques you can return to anytime, including breathwork, affirmations, mudras, chakra focus, visualization, and a weekly review. You don't have to force relaxation or "fix" anything—this series is about building the skill of coming back to calm, one breath at a time. THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE - The Calm Creator Challenge For the next 7 days, choose one tiny "carry cue" from each episode (a phrase, one slow exhale, shoulder drop, hand-to-heart, etc.) and practice it three times a day—morning, mid-day, and evening. The goal isn't to stay calm all day; it's to build the habit of returning to calm in real life. THIS WEEK'S MEDITATION JOURNEY  Day 1:  VISUALIZATION: Emotional Release Day 2:  AFFIRMATION: "Calm is my natural state." Day 3:  EXTENDED EXHALE BREATH: Inhale 4, exhale 6 (or 4/7 if comfortable) for 8–10 rounds. Day 4:  PRITHVI MUDRA (Earth Mudra) Touch ring fingertip to thumb tip, other fingers relaxed. Join Prokoptôn, a private community of dedicated practicing Stoics working together to improve. Learn more at https://skool.com/prokopton -- In this episode, I explore Marcus Aurelius' Meditations 6.27 and what it teaches us about anger. Marcus reminds us that when people do wrong, they do so because they believe their actions are beneficial or appropriate. Our task, therefore, is not to react with anger but to teach, explain, and correct with patience. That idea opens the door to a deeper question: what is anger actually for? Some modern thinkers claim anger is necessary for progress, even suggesting that it fuels social change. I disagree. Anger is not a driver of wise action. It is a signal. Anger alerts us that something has happened which does not accord with our expectations, values, or understanding. That is its only real utility. Once the signal appears, the work begins. We must translate that signal into usable information by asking questions: What happened? Why did it happen? What assumptions am I making? Could I be mistaken? This process turns anger into data. The signal draws our attention to an impression. Rational questioning extracts information from it. And our willingness to revise our own assumptions ensures that we do not simply act on emotional certainty. Seneca makes the Stoic position clear in On Anger: anger itself contributes nothing useful to action. Virtue never requires the assistance of vice. Anger is not a helpful fuel for moral progress. It is a destabilizing force that clouds judgment and pushes us toward impulsive decisions. The goal, then, is not to eliminate anger entirely, since it is part of our human psychology. The goal is to refuse to act while under its influence. Socrates captures this beautifully when he tells a servant, “I would strike you, were I not angry.” His point is simple. If the desire to punish someone appears at the same moment as anger, we cannot trust that the desire is rational. The wise response is to pause until calm judgment returns. This is the Stoic discipline in practice. Anger may signal that something is wrong. But only reason can determine what should be done about it. Listening on Spotify? Leave a comment! What if consciousness doesn't come from the brain… but the brain comes from consciousness? In this extraordinary episode of A Life of Greatness, Sarah Grynberg sits down with filmmaker and creator of The Telepathy Tapes, Ky Dickens, to explore one of the most controversial and mind-expanding conversations of our time.Across years of investigation, Ky uncovered a phenomenon reported by families, teachers and scientists around the world: non-speaking individuals with autism who appear to demonstrate telepathy, precognition and profound spiritual insight.Through spelling-to-communicate methods, these individuals describe a shared telepathic space known as “The Hill,” a place of light, connection and protection where they meet, regardless of physical distance. This conversation explores:• Scientific research into telepathy in both humans and animals• The concept of “The Hill” and collective consciousness• Why many non-speakers speak of angels, God and the afterlife• The idea that consciousness may be fundamental, not produced by the brain• What love, not fear, may actually be the core of human existence• The emotional toll on families and the urgent need for supportThis episode challenges materialism expands the boundaries of science and invites us to reconsider what is possible. If even a fraction of this is true, everything changes. This episode of A Life of Greatness is proudly sponsored by Biohack Wanderlust. We Didn't Plan For This… is a new special series from the hosts of How Yoga Changed My Life about navigating life transitions, and unexpected change in real time. After Adrienne's sudden loss of her husband, so many of you reached out with the same words: “I didn't plan for this either.” A diagnosis. A body that changed. A marriage that shifted. A child who is struggling. A dream that fell apart. This first episode sets the tone for the series. We're not rehashing the details of what happened. We're talking about where we are now — and how yoga, breath, and small daily practices can help us keep showing up through grief, parenting, identity shifts, and hard seasons. This is not trauma-informed certification language. It's not five steps to resilience. It's honest conversation about strength, energy, work, friendship, our bodies, and ordinary days that don't look the way we expected. We're not trying to fix anything. We're living it — as it's happening. And at the end of each episode, we'll pause together before stepping back into our day.We didn't plan for this. But we're here.Support the Smith FamilySeveral people have asked how to support our family during this time. https://wels2.blob.core.windows.net/daily-devotions/20260309dev.mp3 Listen to Devotion Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” John 4:10 If You Knew Knowledge is power. When you know a problem, you can address it. When you have the background of a situation, you are better equipped to assess it and react appropriately. Proper education and training are essential for achieving objectives and goals within a given field. One day, Jesus was talking to a woman in a village he was passing through. She had not met him before. Both his ethnicity and his gender as a Jewish man would have made a public conversation between the two of them culturally inappropriate at that time. But Jesus was willing to work past those cultural norms. He began the conversation by asking her for a drink of water. When she responded with surprise and suspicion, what he said got her attention even more: “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” “If you knew…” But she didn’t. To her, Jesus was just a bold Jewish rabbi. But he was so much more. He was the Son of God who gave physical water its qualities that are so important for life. He was the Messiah, who came from God to quench the needs of thirsty souls with his grace, mercy, and forgiving love. He was the only one who could solve her deepest need and ours. Jesus wants us to know him, too. When we know who he is, we eagerly come to him with every need of our thirsty souls, knowing that he will meet each one. He already has. By taking our sins on himself, he set us free from guilt. By giving his life for us, he rescued us from death. By rising from the dead, he gave us eternal life with him. No need is too great for him. In the Bible, Jesus invites you to get to know him better. Then, knowing how he loves to bless you, turn to him in every time of need. Prayer: Dear Jesus, lead me to your Word to know you better and, knowing you, to come to you for every blessing. Amen. Daily Devotions is brought to you by WELS. We have 60K-90K thoughts a day and half of those thoughts are repeated from the day before and then half of those thoughts are negative thoughts. Over time, these repeated thoughts add up to what we think of as our personality, our truth, our reality. But what happens if we don't like our situation, personality, or reality? What if we desire change in our life? That only happens when we change our perception of reality through our perspective on what is real and what is true. Being mindful of our thoughts is an excellent way to shift into a new reality. This meditation aims to help re-wire the mind one breath at a time.

Summary In this sermon on Psalm 1, Dr. Michael Easley opens the Psalter by showing its front door: two roads, two destinies. The psalmist contrasts the righteous and the wicked with striking clarity. The blessed person does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, stand in the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of scoffers. Instead, he delights in the law of the Lord and meditates on it day and night. Dr. Easley challenges our cultural understanding of blessing. The absence of wealth, health, or prosperity does not mean you are not blessed. True blessing is positional—known by God, forgiven, loved, and rooted in Him. Like a tree planted by streams of water, the righteous person flourishes in season. Seasons may vary, but the source never runs dry. By contrast, the wicked are like chaff—weightless, rootless, and ultimately blown away. Who are you running with? What do you delight in? Who directs your life? We must remember that maturity turns disciplines into reflex and that meditation renews the mind. Psalm 1 calls believers to live as otherworldly people—in the world, but not of it—trusting that the Lord knows the way of the righteous. Takeaways Psalm 1 frames all of life as a choice between the way of the righteous and the way of the wicked. Blessing is not material success but being known by God and rooted in His Word. Spiritual drift begins by walking, standing, and finally sitting comfortably in worldly thinking. Meditation on Scripture renews the mind and reshapes character from the inside out. The righteous flourish in season because their source is constant, even when visible results are not. Christian maturity turns daily time in God's Word from a “have to” into a joyful “get to.” To read the Psalms, click here. Click here for other Michael Easley Sermons.

Our dialogue delves into the intricacies of anxiety and the underlying emotions that often fuel it. I invite listeners to reflect on their relationship with anxiety and how to discern the subtle messages it communicates.A significant focus of our discussion is the Hidden Emotion Model—a technique I learned and refined during my training that unveils the repressed feelings driving anxiety. Dr. Burns eloquently explains how individuals, often conscientious and "nice," suppress emotions like fear, anger, and disappointment, which leads to heightened anxiety. By recognizing and articulating these hidden emotions, individuals can often alleviate their anxiety significantly. Dr. Burns shares a compelling vignette involving a man struggling with panic attacks after receiving unexpected news about parenthood. This example illustrates the necessity of acknowledging uncomfortable emotions to pave the way for healing. Our conversation also touches on the societal stigmas surrounding emotional expression, particularly for those who identify as "nice" people. Dr. Burns and I explore how mental health diagnostics can inadvertently contribute to feelings of shame and inadequacy among patients. It's a powerful reminder that many who battle anxiety face not only internal struggles but external societal pressures that may dictate how they should feel or behave.#Anxiety, #PanicAttacks, #MentalHealth, #CBT, #DrDavidBurns, #AnxietyCoachesPodcast, #FeelingGood, #FeelingGreat, #Psychology, #Mindfulness, #SelfHelp, #Recovery, #Wellness, #Healing, #StressRelief, #InnerPeace, #MentalWellness, #SelfCare, #Therapy, #Coaching, #EmotionalIntelligence, #NervousSystem, #OvercomingAnxiety, #PanicDisorder, #SocialAnxiety, #MentalHealthAwareness, #EndTheStigma, #GrowthMindset, #Authenticity, #Boundaries, #SelfLove, #IntrusiveThoughts, #OCD, #HealthAnxiety, #MindfulLiving, #Breathwork, #Meditation, #Zen, #Spirituality, #PersonalGrowth, #Resilience, #Empowerment, #HealthyMind, #AnxietyRelief, #StressManagement, #Psychotherapy, #Counseling, #WellnessJourney, #LifeCoaching, #MentalHealthMatters, #AnxietySupportSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

844 I Hid Myself Because I Was Naked, A Guided Christian Meditation on Genesis 3:8-10 with the Recenter With Christ app The purpose of this podcast is to help you find more peace in  and connect with the true source of peace, Jesus Christ.  Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization.  You can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tense or unrel axing.  If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes.   Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation:   Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate,  deflate. Scripture for Meditation Genesis 3 NIV 8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man, "Where are you?" 10 He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid." KJV 8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. 9 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. Reflection on Scripture: What an interesting turn of events. When Adam and Eve ate from the tree from which they were commanded against, the scripture does not say they hid because they disobeyed God. It says they hid because they were naked. It seems like the wrong thing to be fearful that the Lord sees. God created their naked bodies. God has already seen their nakedness and yet this is the motivation for hiding from God.  Aside from the silliness of trying to hide from God, it seems the wrong reason to hide from God. It also seems like a wonderful deception for Satan. To foul their understanding of their sexual identity before the Lord quite literally. In the final day of active creation God created Adam, then as his culminating act of creation, he created Eve. In this act of creation he invited Adam and Eve to participate with Him in the act of creation of human bodies. The sexual acts that create their offspring is a literal usage of this gift for its intended purpose. Satan did not want them to develop a healthy relationship with this power. He wanted to immediately corrupt their perception. Their sexual bodies were incorrectly seen as an embarrassment before God.  Satan has waged a full fledged war against the correct perception and usage of this sacred creative power represented by their nudity. He tries to make the whole world mock, cheapen, objectify, and minimize the gift of sexuality. And on top of that, after he has done that, he seeks to heap on shame for it at the same time. God would have us reject the perspective of Satan, and the world. I believe God would prefer for us to protect the sacredness of this gift while also rejecting the shame the enemy would place upon it. Embrace the sacredness that God has put into you. Don't misuse it. Don't hide from the Lord when you fear or make errors. Let us not be in a place where God ever has to ask, where are you? Let us always seek His face, especially when we fall short, that he can redeem us.  Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials.
